Nothing dead in the water until next week, its a weekend, the only nonsense you'll see are the pundits and we all know they have their own opinions on what should happen and nothing is ever optimistic for the MFC.

This is saying something isn't he...the guy barracks for the Dees and still all Dees fans don't like him at all. Contrast that to Gary Lyon, what a bloody legend!

Farewell Christian Petracca
Is there any chance Jed Walter or Ethan Read get put up as alternatives for this trade if Humphreys stays...unless MFC are real dumb they will be insisting on a good player as part of the trade not just a couple of picks in a weak draft. My 100 year old Nonna could tell you that'd be a terrible deal!

Farewell Christian Petracca
All the talk about picks doesn't matter at all, we are losing a very VERY important player who covers a lot of ground in our team and is key. We have been very clear we need a player as part of the deal because we are losing a good one. Hold Melbourne...please hold firm be strong we have the high ground we don't need to blink first, or at all really.

That's because they are rubbish picks...shame GC isn't offering us picks 6 and 7 in last year's draft.

Just hope we hold Trac if the deal is only a couple of compromised draft picks...if it was last year's draft then have at it...very different draft pool though this year not worth it. So long as what's good for the goose is good for the gander then dees camp won't be too disgusted.

What if we Curnow?
-

[censored] no!

Pretty simple, nothing to lose if we keep Trac, they are the ones getting excited about getting him so they can't have their cake and eat it too. Arrogant buggers aren't they

Lol imagine if we ended up with DeGoey Gross

Farewell Clayton Oliver
Contracts go both ways don't they. The club also commits to the player through thick and thin for that time and the player has that security. This is what we all bang on about when contracted players want out. With Oliver he didn't want out he was committed and tried doing the right thing and we all think he was getting back to good. He deserves that security too and for the club to stick by him for the length of the long contract they also agreed to. Pretty [censored] poor for a player to want out but much worse for a club to want to push a great player out especially when its someone like Clarry who obviously isn't your standard type personality.

Wasn't it Clarry's break up that started this whole spiral?

Good on you Lamby...stay strong!

Farewell Christian Petracca
Nice, not as strong as I'd like to hear but still pretty straight forward and sounds like Trac knows the state of things too and what might or might not get done.

Let's get Merrett haha

Well GC are the ones who need to turn our heads...stay firm and we keep Petracca and he gets to work in "his job" and no harm done. Its gotta be better for us remember, not for Trac or GC. We must come out winners if they want us to trade our best generational player who we know will be professional and just come back to work if it falls through. Everyone forgets Trac is just "testing the waters" and seeing if he can broker the right deal. If it ain't awesome we keep the guy, I just hope the Dees bosses stick to their guns. PS. Tom Morris can eat a bag!

Farewell Christian Petracca
Yes this exactly!! Something must have happened that no one knows about for this guy, who apparently loved his club so much (and we all believed him) to want to go seemingly so desperately. You don't change like that for no reason. I wonder if we'll ever find out what it was and then we'll all understand. Not that its necessarily our business (well it kind of it) but god it'd be nice to get some clarity on what has happened because it must be something pretty significant.

Haha thank you...that's all it is, a rant, I get emotional about this stuff because I'm passionate and this forum is wonderful for some venting and self-therapy when I need it :)

Farewell Clayton Oliver
I feel like of all our players Oliver should be afforded the benefit of the doubt with our new coach and system, yes he has his demons but do the right thing by him please he sounds like he's been trying his butt off to do the right thing by us for a while now and he seems really invested. Not everyone is the same, nor smooth sailing, but someone like him deserves a go to prove himself again after what he's given. Yes pay is an issue, but give the guy a go under the new regime don't just sweep him off. Seems more than a tad insensitive by the MFC.

We hold all the cards don't we? All the MFC people keep saying it. We win if we keep Trac and we win if we get Humphreys. It's up to them to make us a deal that's too good to knock back...so it's gotta be good!

2025 Player Reviews: # 2 Jacob van Rooyen
Just stick the marks and he would be much better already...I mean that's a big part of his job isn't it.
-
Farewell Christian Petracca
If we roll over on this deal after saying we would be tough and it had to be awesome for our club etc. etc. surely heads need to roll...that would be a terrible start for our new coach.

Surely we don’t lose Trac and Oliver without getting Humphrey? We’d be pretty sad without getting a star back, I reckon that would be a fail, hope the Dees play the hardball they keep telling us they’re going to play. still so sad it’s come to this but hopefully we don’t feel too hard done by when all is said and done.
