That is such garbage, the whole "process too quick" line is a furphy and has nothing to do with anything. Maybe Bucks using it as padding for his ego but if he was the right man as if we don't wait another week. That interview question was asked purely to gauge commitment and enthusiasm, like you would in any job interview really. We gotta wait two weeks for Kingy anyway. Bucks got beat by a better more suitable candidate. We had a good panel of professional thorough interviewers who did their job. Caro actually asked this question of Paul Guerra, that is "would Steven King had got the job regardless of Nathan Buckley's timeline" and Paul answered it properly. I'm sure everyone here has heard that great interview from Paul with Caro trying her best to keep the journalism in the gutter where she hangs out. The whole "too quick process" just shouldn't be spoken about, it seems to be scapegoating the fact that he just didn't get the job and another guy did who just beat the pants off him. I was keen on Bucks too but I'm glad we ended up with Steven King. Take it on your solid chin bucks you're a big boy just admit when you got beat.

Fantastic interview from our CEO, Caro sounded like gutter journalist but Paul still tried to answer her obviously provocative questions with class. Loved his answers and love his class and polish, he’s just terrific and very inspiring for our future.

This exactly!! King can’t even start doing anything for a couple of weeks potentially, so waiting a week wouldn’t have been the reason. I think they clearly thought King was the best and wanted him, but Buckley answering that question the way he did also indicated he wasn’t really able to commit so that also wasn’t great. if he was right though they would have waited 100%. Bucks wasn’t right, King was, and I trust the process and can’t wait for him to start!

I was warming to Buckley like others here, but honestly it sounds like the right people were conducting a job interview, the right way, and he flunked the interview. He went for it, liked the idea of it, but let's not kid ourselves the guy didn't stack up to the likes of King and Kelly who obviously knew they wanted to be a senior coach and had the skills to pay those bills. Buckley was part of it and he just wasn't chosen, and that question of whether he would take the job and was committed was a very important one so kudos to the panel for doing their job properly and for making sure they chose someone who was the standout best choice for doing the coaching job and not just being seduced by the high profile celebrity even if he wasn't quite right. Bucks just didn't get the job. Kingy did. The panel wasn't full of dummies so I'm sure their decision was for a good reason.

Sam Mitchel is also a grub, snake in the grass going after all the AFLs wounded bird players...I don't believe the narrative that "everyone is doing it" either, I think a lot of coaches and staff have a bit more respect and professional courtesy than this bloke. He just has no problem meddling, and I don't think anyone would like him much apart from Hawks fans.

Just put Caro on "block" and get on with your life. She just hates the dees for no apparent reason. There are a few of them out there, and what they say is pure spite most of the time, not really sure what the Dees of all clubs have done to these people to make them feel so negatively about us its not like we're Collingwood for goodness sake.

That was really [censored] how they delivered the Billings delisting news, just appeared as a slip up but I felt a bit bad for him when that got announced, just hoping that he actually knew before Richo delivered that at the B&F. Really hoped he stayed on I thought he was coming into some form in the VFL at least, thought it would warrant keeping him on a bit as depth. Can do a lot worse than Billings!

Crows fans really lowering themselves to pretty much Port Adelaide and Collingwood levels of grubbery...found it amusing to hear a Pies fan calling out the booing this morning on an SEN text, thought it was rich coming from a Pies fan. I'm sure not all Pies fans are grubs, but damn they have a lot of them they are usually the worst in the comp for bad behavior.

Love to keep both and absolutely loved the whole story that they played together and were best mates from young age etc etc it was awesome…until it wasn’t and grown up problems crept in. Then the true colours come out, and I after all that has been said and done I’d have Oliver over Trac every day of the week if you had to choose one just based on his humility and attitude alone. If Trac can stop making it about himself and being a sook and take a leaf out of his old friend Oliver’s book, then they’d both be 100% a keep and the MFC would be back in business. Oliver appears to have grown up and isn’t pointing fingers…I hope Trac can do a bit of the same. Grow up, take responsibility, team first personal Instagram frivolous nonsense after all that plz.

I know people say the level gap between AFL and VFL is enormous but these guys are really playing well and the team looks like we want our AFL team to look. Different comps I know, but hey we are storming through these VFL teams (including Box Hill Hawks in previous game) and it’s very exciting. Love seeing the kids doing well and especially guys like Yze together with Kentfield and Laurie and Woey and Brown. They look like they’re getting better, and while some are cynical I bet there’s not a dees fan on here that isn’t hopeful that it will eventually translate into AFL level goodness for all of them. I like most haven’t been convinced with Laurie yet, but also don’t think he was given a proper chance yet and if he stays at the club (which I hope he does) he looks like he will get better and I will trust in the footy department staff and Goody who backed him in to be the player we all hope he can be. Very curious about Billings too…is he finally finding the form he should have been in if not for injuries over the past years? or is he just a really good VFL player? hopefukly he can find his AFL level too because that wpukd be mighty handy! if nothing else, these VFL bpys are filling me with some genuine hope and excitement, as they will probabmy do for an incoming coach too. All good things!

I really hope not Bevo, and both Kingy and Kornes are clowns, great at entertaining on their chat shows but that’s really all it is, entertainment. I’d love to know what Goody or someone at Melbourne did to Kornes, he seems to always have such a personal vendetta against the MFC.
