I hate that is now my focus for the season, but yep, definitely on. Not sure what the Suns winning margin needs to be but live ladder right now has them above us. And go Saints!

Just admit you had no idea who Kentfield was when you bolded his name and we can move on.
  3. Reposting this as it's relevant again. Here are the forward coaches at every club. Spot the "actual" forwards. Adelaide - Scott Burns Brisbane - Murray Davis Carlton - Jordan Russell Collingwood - Justin Leppitsch Essendon - Dale Tapping Fremantle - Jaymie Graham Geelong - James Rahilly Gold Coast - Brad Miller GWS - Jeremy Laidler Hawthorn - Adrian Hickmott North Melbourne - Xavier Clarke Port Adelaide - Chad Cornes Richmond - Kane Lambert St Kilda - Robert Harvey Sydney - Jarrad McVeigh West Coast - Matthew Knights Western Bulldogs - Matt Spangher

LOL, he has been at the club for 3 months. Did you just look at the playing list, see a name you didn't recognise and thought yep, he'll do?
  5. The extension is 3, not 4. He was already contracted until the end of 2025.
  6. If the Filth beat us, they can still make if Port can get over Freo in Perth and the Blues lose to both the WCE and the Saints, which given all the Blues outs and the way they are playing is a strong chance.

I'd love to see a stat on how many frees the Pies get in the last 5 mins of games when the margin is a couple of goals or less. I counted 5 or 6 straight tonight, and while most were probably there, they were all soft and not frees they were paying earlier in the game.
  8. To be fair, he said the "this is the best culture I've seen in 40 years in the game" were in the context of questions they were being asked about the Joel Smith situation and whether that was a reflection on the club culture rather than an individual behavioural issue .

Some will say I have my head in the sand, but the actual (an ongoing) surprise to me when observing threads here and elsewhere, is that people still allow themselves to get into such a lather over what the usual suspects in the media say. All you need to do is pay attention to who they are, any agendas they might have, what they get out of going with their 'scoop' and what they are actually saying. In most cases they say absolutely nothing worth paying attention to and their story is rarely anything more than a manufactured gossip column or opinion piece presented as fact.

From a "Whatever happened to Will Brodie?" thread on Reddit...
  12. You don't think losing Brayshaw, Petracca and Smith has anything to do with this? Or other key injuries to irreplaceables like Gawn, Lever or May? Or Oliver being a shadow of himself due a disastrous offseason? Or all of a sudden losing all our depth, both as a result of the above and also with guys like Jordan, Harmes & Bedford looking for opportunity elsewhere at (in hindsight) the most inopportune moment? Or playing a bunch of kids to try and cover all these gaps, most of whom are in their first or second seasons?

At least we aren't Essendon 'supporters'. What an absolute disgrace these clowns are. (language is NSFW) rapidsave.com_essedon_get_their_carlton_moment-3pctb22go1fd1.mp4

Here we go... 🙄 Can't let the ridiculous Petty pile on get off track now can we?

In the Oliver scenario, 'journalists' like Morris or McClure call around the other clubs and ask them if they would be interested in him if he was available. Clubs would then respond with something generic like "we have a lot of players on our radar", or "we're all about making our list better" just like the example a few posts back. Morris/McClure then say things like "there is significant interest from other clubs" even though that interest is simply the answers they have received to their own questions, and not actual things that have happened like approaches from one club to another, or an indication from the club with the player that they actually want to trade him. That's all the smoke is, and they create it themselves.
  17. JTR replied to Oxdee's post in a topic in Melbourne Demons
Tom Morris creates the smoke, then says "look, smoke"
  18. JTR replied to Flag Favourites 3019's post in a topic in Melbourne Demons
Tom Morris 'journalism'... 🙄 Hey Adelaide, if Oliver was available would you look at him? "Yep, definitely" Hey Geelong, if Oliver was available would you look at him? "We have a lot of players on our radar" Hey Collingwood, if Oliver was available would you look at him? He's a quality player. We be silly not to" Hey Hawthorn, if Oliver was available would you look at him? "Definitely, he'd be a great fit" Hey Melbourne, are you looking at trading Oliver? "Absolutely not" Tom Morris... "I'm hearing there is noise around Oliver and clubs thinking he is gettable" Kane Cornes... "So Melbourne say they want to trade him?" Tom Morris... "No I didn't say that, but there is definitely interest" Morris is a [censored] grub. Every time anything re Oliver comes up, he's always the one pushing it. Most of the off-season [censored] can be tied back to Morris and his manufactured scoops. Why does he hate us so much? Is he still upset about Hogan calling him a leech and the fakest figure in the media?

A non-dominant ruckman is completely redundant in todays game. You don't bring a guy like Fullarton in just for the sake of it when he hasn't been much more than serviceable at VFL level. Because they know nothing about the developing talls they are talking about, other than their name isn't Petty.
  20. JTR replied to Demonland's post in a topic in Melbourne Demons
He said Fullarton was too, just to clear things up for all posters since your comment.

This. Probably an unpopular opinion around here, but I don't think our forward stocks are that bad and see how it is getting to them as the glaring issue. If you copy/pasted guys like JVR, Fritsch, Kossie & Turner into the forward line of a team like Sydney with Heeney, Warner, Gulden and co. kicking it down their throat, they'd be looking like superstars. Probably the only FF we could bring in now who would make a difference with our current setup is Curnow, cause he has the ability to make something out of nothing, regardless of how good/bad the delivery to him is.

Bun Bun? That place is the best! Not sure how the roll survives all the way from Springvale station to the MCG though. Mine wouldn't get far beyond Westall station 😁

Also a non-buyer at the ground. Not that hard to survive three hours without having to get something to eat or drink and I can always take something in with me if needed. Last week we sat behind a couple who had two drinks each every quarter, plus food. In all, it would have cost them well over $200 on [censored] food and drinks in plastic cups. Cost of living crisis though they reckon........
  24. 57+ point win please, so we can go ahead of the filth on percentage

What time do they start? Edit - nevermind, I found it. It's on as we speak. Enjoy then!
