Looking pretty good for someone who tore his ACL In August. Might see him playing in the VFL in July maybe. Hope he makes it back.We could use him in Sept. -
PRESEASON TRAINING: Friday 1st December 2023

The public should be forewarned about Dees having goal kicking practice especially during peak hour traffic. Sherrin footys will be flying in all directions one might crash straight through your windscreen. -
The football season is well and truly over so cricket is now the priority. Im assuming Marvel is used for those stupid T20 games or even state onedayers. Its also used for music gigs isnt it?. If AFLW GF tickets are a measly 20 dollars its no wonder the AFL is reluctant to host the girls GF at a major (expensive) venue. If fans paid 200 dollars then theyd be at Marvel this weekend. but it wouldnt be anywhere near a sellout. Catch 22.

WCW..... i was referring to Petty re moon boot. Didnt know Fritsch had worn one though it wouldnt surprise me. We seem cursed with foot issues . -

The moon boot probably had to go into rehab its been overworked the last 12 months. Hope Fritsch and Petty are ready to go in March. Plenty of time. Cant finish top 4 without them. -
If we miss the final 8 next year then ...

Alot of doom and gloom .Its onky November. We lost by 7 points to the eventual premiers and lost by 2p to Carlton. They didnt beat us; we lost it. A decimated forward line- even Fritsch and tmac were carrying injuries- and we only lost the two finals by the grand sum of 9 points. A healthy senior list in '24 and the flag awaits. We've proven we can win without Oliver too. -
Like him. A young man of few words. Action speaks louder than words.

A couple of teams will drop out of the 8 in '24. Saints and Port? With our list and better luck with injuries we should finish with 15 or 16 wins. Could be pretty tight next year at the top end. Dont see Pies and Lions (tough draw) dominating.. -

Will be interesting to see if readymade AFL players Billings Fullarton and McAdam enjoy the fresh start and force their way into the side R1 or round zero or whatever they call it. Hopefully it will increase the competitive spirit. Once youre in the team you dont want to drop out. Injuries aside it could be tough for draftees to get a slot in the 23. Probably spend all year in the VFL unless they really kick the door down. -
Does anyone really care? Not according to the low number of posts. They dominate the official MFC website and it gets confusing at times. Its all a bit too much IMHO. Too much sport. I might be in trouble for that comment. lol
-
Seems like a pretty successful draft week for MFC. KB could do with a visit to the barber but so could a few others. Pity Mitch Brown retired we could of had 3 Browns up forward. BT would dead set have refused to commentate our games.
-
Yep. Id be surprised if the Lygon st Ruskies ever give 1 dollar to the MFC. Libs arent any better. Portsea Golf club turning its nose up at Comrade Dan recentlywont have helped either. Portsea = Establishment=MFC= Royal Red and Blue colours. We're cooked.

When did sides 9 to 18 start their preseason? Its been almost 3 months since R24. If MFC start next Monday then within a few weeks they'll be packing up for another long Christmas/ NY break. When they finally get around to training, how many days a week are they out on the track? 2 or 3? I hope they find the time to get some goal kicking practice . We couldnt hit the side of a ship in 2023. -
Alot of soccer players come from hellholes like central and south America and Africa. Those guys would literally run to the airport and never look back. Go home to hell factor not applicable.
-
Norf's Larkey would win us a flag or two. He was way way way down the draft in the seventies. Might be the best ever lowly draft pick.3
-
Looks a little like Dermott Brereton back in the early eighties. If he's half as good as The Kid were onto a winner. I remember Brereton was zoned to the Saints like alot of Hawthorn players were down on the Penninsula. Didnt Glenferrie switch his family address to a residential unit just outside Saints zone. Literally on the opposite side of the road. Probably cost the Saints a flag or two. The eighties were a hot mess. Almost bankrupted the league.
-
We definitely have a premiership list. Just hope we have better luck with injuries and the players keep their heads screwed on tight. Dees can beat any side in the comp. We had a mangled VFL standard forward line in the 2023 finals yet lost by only 7 and 2 points to the eventual premiers and bluebaggers. Sickening stuff.

The post draft comments made by all the top draftees is hilarious corporate BS. Theyre basically reading from a script. The best of course is No1 pick Harley Reid's comments. ..."so excited to being part of this great club (gut churning vomitous tripe) and be part of its exciting future" blah blah blah. If the Eagles are still swamp slops after 2 years do you think he wont try and get traded back home in his 3rd year? My big wish for 2024 is Carlton mupp it leaving egg all over the AFL's face. Their huge pile of primetime slots is absurd. If they play boring crappy football its going to impact on the TV ratings.
-
You think we'll be that lucky? No mid season Sun fullbackpage 'exclusive' about the private lives of Goodwin and Oliver or ongoing culture problems at MFC.
-
0f course, theyre clowns who take their instructions from corporate media. Keep the plebs on the hook over two nights not just one. Round Zero and Gather Round are just another turn off. Totally unnecessary.
-
Look on the bright side. Atleast the media will get distracted and question the 'culture' of Melb'ne AFLW players instead of going after Goodwin and his players. We should get left alone atleast till early new year. The media hysteria over Carlton and Collingwood going for a flag in '24 should dwarf everything thank heavens.

PRESEASON TRAINING: Monday 27th November, 2023

Surely thats not right; nine days till pre season starts Nov26?. Thats over 9 weeks break or 3 months for non finalists.Presumably non finalists started very early in Nov. In a few weeks they'll all be packing up for another long xmas/new year break. . Even training days are limited and over by late morning. Good job if you can get it ! No wonder we can't kick straight. -
The AFL couldnt let us entirely off the hook after sending Hawthorn down to the Cattery instead of us. Im happy with it. Both WA sides are a hot mess we should win both matches . We copped the Gabba yet again but did Collingwood? Not playing at the Cattery and Tas was worth it. MFC fixture shouldnt impact our ladder position unless we screw up our travel plans. Must stay in SA for the two b2b Adelaide matches. AFL can foot the hotel bill.

Thankyou i rest my case.
