Perfect for us, sounds like North will grab him after Curtin with the McKay compensation (3) though , maybe we could make a charge for their pick 3 instead of GC 4, probably the only way. Duursma to Hawks then Watson to Dogs (at the moment that’s the narrative) so North really is the only roadblock to Mckercher

To me it doesn’t sound like we are as keen on pick 4 as I would’ve thought? Usually extremely aggressive with this sort of stuff and we’ve been out of the limelight with it, only hearing Dogs and North when it’s obvious we have the picks to do it as well. Wonder why

Should throw 900 a year at Jamarra Ugle Hagan, or some sort of offer he can’t refuse. Dogs have to sign up Naughton and English on close to a million next year, Jamarra is out of contract next year as well. They have Darcy and now Croft waiting in the wings as key forwards too, that’s too many with Lobb as well. Dogs are after high draft picks this year, pick 5 + whatever else we have could get it done. Don’t see anyone in this draft as talented as him at our pick. Long shot but as Gerard said, shake the tree!

With a good pre season Howes should be on a wing next year. Langdon has had a terrible year and an awful finals series, Hunter has been ok but no penetration in his kicking, time to give Blake a go if he’s injury free, it’s his best position

So you think it’s unlikely the club will go for a key forward again in this draft? Even if Morris ends up being a late pick? We’d want to be sure Jefferson’s gonna be good to ignore a Caddy or Morris imo

We do not have the tools up forward, Fritsch will be on one foot by then. If Melksham and Petty were playing it’d be a different story

Watching Brisbane v Port, it’s really dawning on me how badly we’ve stuffed up on Thursday night. Port or GWS in a home prelim? What an outcome that would’ve been, straight through to the granny in my opinion. Now we have to play Carlton AND Brisbane at the Gabba, that is really rough. I cannot see us beating Brisbane up there, down here in a grand final? Quite possible

When/ if north get their pick 3 compensation for McKay, can they split it? Maybe it’s more realistic for us to target that pick and try and get Duursma before the Hawks? Offer them 5+ whatever else ? Not sure on the rules there though

He’s small but also pretty good on a lead and can take a great mark so not exactly prototype small forward
