Petty is our best defender. Pretty simple he plays there for mine. Gone past May who let’s face it, is in pretty ordinary form

Not going to claim to know myself but how much of it is JVR being a novice vs our system? I reckon I could count on two hands how many times I’ve seen us lower our eyes and hit Ben Brown on a lead to take an easy chest mark. That’s all he ever did at North, at the Dees he and all the other talls seem to be surrounded by 5-6 other players every time they try and take a mark. Pretty tough being a tall in our group I reckon, a lot of just bombing it high inside 50 and expecting a miracle grab. Can’t really expect JVR to do what he did in the last quarter vs Richmond all the time surrounded by 4-5 players, that was special but would love to see us give him some isolation and easier disposals/marks. Not claiming to know the answer but when I’m at a game it’s starting to catch my eye and can imagine it being pretty frustrating for the forwards

Like to know his thoughts on Disco Turner and Jed Adams as key defenders for the future

If we miss out on him, so be it, but imagine if he goes to a WA club? That is worst case scenario. If Jacob keeps playing games like he did on Monday, Freo and West Coast will pick up his brother with their first pick even if they think he’s [censored] just for the chance of bringing them together 😂 Would love for a VIC club to pick Sam.

Well loved by all the boys sure, but the club is obviously aware that he’s feeling the loss of his two closest mates Toby and Luke by bringing in Burgoyne over the summer and thinking about Liam Henry in a trade. Let’s be honest, we don’t need either of those players and it’s all Kozzy related

To look at how we are accomodating interstate players? Why don’t Jackson and Pickett like living in Melbourne enough for them to leave the club ? The idea that we’re fine with having these players for 2-4 years and then getting high draft picks for them is ridiculous. They’re nowhere near their peak yet. We don’t want an 18 year old replacing Kozzy or Jacko, we need to win another flag with the list we have. We need Kozzy kicking 40 goals every year and we needed Jacko to be our #1 ruck for the next decade, a first year player isn’t going to help us push towards another flag right now. We haven’t brought JVR in for 2-3 years to just get a good pick out of him, he needs to be our KPF for the next 10. So yes the club needs to have a look at a few things if we end up losing the entire 2019 draft class after just 4 years, or it’ll just keep happening over and over again? Doesn’t sound like Jason Taylor is keen to stop drafting interstate if they’re the best talent available
