Demonstone's Juicy January Jocular Jamboree
Monbon replied to Demonstone's topic in Melbourne Demons
It never occurred to me until recently: then the penny dropped. To me, there was always something fishy about the all boys club called The Apostles... -

Kozzy Pickett Re-Signs for 4 Years
Monbon replied to Timothy Reddan-A'Blew's topic in Melbourne Demons
Fair enough...Like I say, I'd love him to do well. -
It was more to do with the players carrying injuries into the business end: the reason we were consistently outplayed, despite leading at half in most matches. The players I refer to are: Langdon, Petracca, Oliver, Gawn, Lever, Salem, Viney.

2022 was however, the injury season from hell for the Demons. It had not much to do with Burgo's mantra.

But when he has, he ain't done that much to help his cause. I like the lad, I want him to succeed but he's yet to prove himself at senior level. -
I firmly believe in the Marx Brothers Axion - There ain't no Sanity Clause, however, if you do do the Merry Christmas scene - how can I Santa has NEVER delivered my electric train set - here's the best music to accompany it. Beware, it's Bach, and, unfortunately the words are subtitled. I just love the celebratory exultation of the music. It's from the third part of the Christmas Horatorio. There has never been a greater genius...Behold: And, if you click on Watch In You Tube it will appear...

I urge you to explore Fasch: there's plenty on YouTube, look out for the Overtures...
-
Watched this with the sound down, Fasch playing in the background - along with Telemann, a composer second only to Bach and Handel - and all the talk about his 'selfishness' is absolute bulldust. He saw an opportunity, he went for it. Most often, he was rewarded. The interesting thing is how often the Demons were in front before a last quarter demise. Also, what is interesting is that in the last 4 games of the season, the Demons decisively beat sides which they later succumbed to...

The great Melbourne sides of the late 50's and early 60's had Reserves sides studded with players in waiting E.G. Massey, Miller, Crompton, Len Mann, Tony Anderson, Townsend, Emselle, Rowarth, Vagg, etc. It ain't no crime to bide your time.

Well, he is a bogan! You can't teach Ozzie Bogans new tricks!!!!🤣🥰😍 It's like the North Fitzroy shoppers who call Piedemontes PIE demontes...

A beautiful man. So glad he's a Demon.

'The delivery to the forward line' issue still lurks...But I want to look on the bright side...great commentary, guys

Surely because a player is crook in the week leading up to the last training session before Christmas would not rule them out for Round 1 in March? Apart from that, thanks for the report - love it.

Has anyone seen the shocking 3rd Umpire decision against Shakeel in the 2nd Pakistan/England test. I suppose Euclid and geometry and shadows will be invoked again...

Fascinating the Var interpretations. For example, though there is green grass between the ball and the line before the Japanese boot, today's Var interpretation clearly shows that the Frog defender's foot fowled the foot of the Sassenach well into the sacred penalty zone. For once, I agree with the consternation of the Sassenachs. What does it tell you about VAR?????

He used to buy Mahler and Bruckner records from me when I managed the classical section of John Clements, after the Vulgar Bulgar defected to Discurio.

I get you, FD, however, once again context: the bottom line is that Australia does not have a proud record with regard to its treatment of its Indigenous Communities. The racial abuse Indigenous players have and still suffer is a blight on our society. It's about time we did celebrate their uniqueness, blew to the world their trumpet of what they have achieved culturally, especially with regard to what they can teach us about living 'with' their land', not exploiting it like we do and have, and, with regard to Footy, what magnificence they bring to the field.
