  1. Contest, pressure, some younger, hungrier faces and up by 23 points at the GABBA ... enjoying this ... Carn the Dees! 😈
  2. A very good pod, listened to it yesterday evening when doing some odd jobs around the house 👍 I am closer to Binman in my views, I think the Dees may still have some tricks up their sleeves this season and could cause an upset if they make the 8. I think the aim should be to make the 8 and give an elimination final experience to the younger players.
  3. Initially I would expect that, overtime that should subside as he reverts to the old Trac. But ultimately, only time will tell and different people cope differently to the challenges they face.
  4. Jack Martin is only contracted to the end of this season (Jack Silvagni to the end of 2025). If Martin could finally sort out his calf problems he would be a very good pickup. It was no accident that he played in all of Carlton's run to the finals last year and created that 3rd forward threat alongside Curnow and McKay.
  5. Jack is not allowed to leave until he does what both his father and grandfather did at Princes Park, i.e. play in two Premiership teams 😁 I rate Jack as well, a modern day utility who can play many positions. I suspect The other Jack (Martin) will be offloaded before Jack S who is a fan favourite whose family history is intertwined with the club. Jack Martin is quality both up forward and in link up play, his issue is availability due to injuries.
  6. Yes, that is the way I read it too.
  7. We still had the likes of Lachie O'Brien, Lachie Plowman playing regularly in 2022 (both delisted). No Blues supporters regarded us as being in the 'window', I can assure you of that ... only late last season expectations began to rise. There has been some good list management in recent times that have brought in the likes of the Holland Brothers, Acres, Cincotta, Boyd and Cowan. The 'bottom' rung of players in the list is definitely better now and there is some genuine depth.
  8. I would say it is year 1. This is the first time in a very long time that the Blues are a realistic contender. It is a good age profile of players and the club behind the scenes finally has its house in order. Very good drafting and trading in the last couple of seasons as well. That mythical 'window' should be open for several years to come ...
  9. George Gawn, future star Carlton ruckman, mid century 😁
  10. Weitering and TDK will not be leaving Princes Park, they are aiming for a flag in Navy Blue. Martin and Marchbank might be off loaded when all the sums are done, both quite talented but simply haven't had enough time actually playing with repeated injury setbacks.
  11. Clarry has done enough for MFC to deserve some breathing space to get back on track. Get a proper pre-season into him and hopefully he gets back to what he was next year.
  12. Max as a father has the patience of a saint 😇😁 https://www.reddit.com/r/CarltonBlues/s/dmPaFjITG9

    Anyone else following Euro 2024?
  14. One of my all time favourite songs ...
  15. Yes, I can see North running out of steam too.
  16. Think I last saw them live 7 years ago and it was said they would be their last live gigs back then 😁
  17. 50 year anniversary of their founding, claiming it is their final tour. https://www.theguardian.com/music/2024/jan/29/radio-birdman-australian-band-final-live-tour
  18. A few months ago you would have penciled this in as a percentage booster for the Dees but alas not so now. How quickly things can change in season. Still think the Dees will get the win despite North having the capability to play some good footy at times. Tempted to pop into the MCG tonight, reckon it will be a good game but I have a ticket to see Radio Birdman play tonight so I would probably have to leave early ... better check the set times at the Croxton 😁
  19. Spot on!
  20. Jordan Russell https://www.carltonfc.com.au/news/1492990 But I think having a few seasons of the same group together to build cohesion and Harry McKay sorting out his set shot kicking have been important factors. Jack Martin, Jessie Motlop and Matt Cottrell are still yet to come back to this foward line as well mind you. There may be a fight for spots coming up, good problem to have.
  21. On the train home after a rather pleasant evening at the MCG watching Geelong pushed off a cliff 😁
  22. However, the reverse of say 5.11 was a not uncommon scoring dynamic for the Blues in the last few seasons. Accuracy has definitely improved this season! The Blues have worked very hard on their forward set-up, collectively and individually. Simon Goodwin, take notes!

  24. The Devil comes in many forms and one of them is in the form of Mick Malthouse! Lucifer incarnate had his tenure at Princes Park from 2012-2015! 😁 A bit of a nothing article from Mick, doubt he has any real insights in what is happening at Goschs Paddock/Casey, just wants to chime in on the topical Dees who are struggling right now and assorted media types are getting their kicks in whilst they are down. Please win the next few to shut them up.
  25. Sporting history is littered with many examples of teams that were certainties to win something but still blew it. There is still two months of H&A football to play.
