Jack Martin will get 1 week. 2 weeks is excessive. He is a big out for the Blues but it may be that Jack Silvagni comes back in.
-
I am the opposite, have always got in first on the laptop as opposed to the mobile ... the mysteries of Ticketek 😊

Heard this mentioned on the Sunday Footy Show this morning. Apparently Neil Mitchell will push this on 3AW on Monday and I just see Mark Robinson pushing for this in the Herald Sun online a few hours ago too. Despite my antipathy towards Neil M. and 'Robbo' its actually a great idea given Ron's amazing history at both the Demons and the Blues. Thumbs up from me 👍

Umm, the Blues do play home games at the MCG 😊
-
Hmm, not sure about that. I think the term 'sleeping giant' refers more to some very large but hitherto quiet supporter base that is about to be re-awakened. Think Richmond from 2017 or Carlton now 🤔 I think many quiet Dees came out of the woodwork in 2021 and now its more a case of creating new supporters rather than engaging dormant ones. We are in a high migration growth cycle and it is the perfect time for the Dees to market themselves to those new to Melbourne, new to footy to get a club to barrack for. No reason why MFC can't keep building its supporter base to narrow the gap between them and the bigger supported Melbourne Quartet.

70.5K is an awesome membership result. Shows the Dees are clearly on the rise and have broken from the pack of the 'smaller' Melbourne clubs. The Melbourne name, the pedigree of being the origin club for the whole code, elegant club colours and current highly competitive squad places the Demons in a great pisition to tap into new supporters, which I think is already happening (just my anecdotal observations). Should be aiming for 75K+ in 2024 👍

Interestingly, his younger brother, Ollie Hollands has been a first year revelation as a winger for Carlton. Shorter and much thinner than Elijah but Ollie is a real competitor, may not look it but is tough as nails, not afraid of contests and will run all day.

Spot on. Toby whilst being an amazing footballer is a thug. I don't buy this whitewashing of him for a second.
-
I haven't watched him play but reality is there are some high draft picks who never really make it and there are some who just take longer to develop and mature and real bargains can possibly be found there.

I was at Marvel Stadium tonight. The Blues wanted to make sure Charlie got his second Coleman Medal and he did. Well done, deserved it. Cripps & Docherty rested. Walsh, Cerra & McGovern got to dust off their injury cobwebs with a run. 'Bruise free' footy after half time whilst GWS played with real purpose and intensity for keeping their season alive and trying to get past the Saints on percentage.
-
I am hoping the following final would be against C'Wood after they lose to the Dees in Week 1 ... (1st v 4th).
-
Real incentive for Carlton to beat GWS so they get the Bulldogs in Week 1. Reckon Carlton will rip the Doggies apart.
-
Curnow has not been held goalless all season and last time Carlton played GWS in Sydney, Curnow kicked 2 so I would say the odds are in Charlie's favour for Coleman Medal No. 2. He needs 1 goal to draw level with Tex, 2 goals to win it outright.
-
Carlton to defeat GWS, Bulldogs and then the Pies ...
-
The Hawks can have their moments (and have had them in recent weeks). They can also dip and put in poor performances (that is why they are 16th). Expecting a solid Dees win.
-
Carlton may well need a win to secure a home final and may have players like Walsh, Cerra, McGovern and Kennedy returning. Reckon only Cripps might be rested. Carlton still likely to push hard for the win in front of 50K under the roof at Marvel. Going with 10 wins on the trot into the finals is certainly something to play for ...
-
Last time they met, Nic Newman kept Toby Greene to only 5 possessions.

Port Melbourne is similar driving time to MCG as Caulfield even if Port Melbourne is closer in terms of distance in kms. When it come to public transport, Caulfield is much quicker to get to. Richmond Station to Caulfield Station in only 10 minutes via the Cranbourne/Pakenham line trains.

Steven May was on SEN this morning and was asked about Caleb Marchbank's 'Fingertips of God'. He said he couldn't tell from where he was but he said that Marchbank immediately looked towards the goal umpire and signalled touched and when it is instinctive like that it usually means the player got a touch to it. He sounded OK with the call but just disappointed not to get the 4 points.

2nd spot is still up for grabs if the Pies beat the Lions next week. Hopefully that is a bruising encounter for both.

What they are saying at Princes Park

Yes, the avatar is RDB from post 1964, from his Carlton days 😊 He played before my time but you can't help but admire what the man achieved in footy and he arguably ushered in a new era of modern football in the 60s and 70s in several ways. -

Whilst there is a lot of cuisine catering to the cheaper student market due to proximity of Uni of Melbourne and RMIT, Carlton and surrounds does have some decent culinary spots ... just off the top of my head ... Carlton Wine Room, King & Godfree, DOC, Abla's, Kazuki's, Etta, La Luna ... As for on the football field, i would say most Blues supporters are aiming for wins against Gold Coast and GWS and see the Dees as a free hit, not expecting to win with some significant outs of key players but still in with a chance of an upset because the lesser known players are playing their roles and bringing intensity to their game in recent times. -
Haha ... Blues supporters are everywhere, maybe even on Demonland 👤🧐 I don't think think the Carlton team that is fielded on Saturday night is necessarily a 'reference point' as it will be missing Walsh, Cerra, McKay McGovern and Silvagni. The Blues managed to get over the Saints with a depleted side last week and that was a spirited win, but the Dees are definitely a much tougher challenge for Carlton. Should be a great match, am looking forward to watching it at the 'G on Saturday night ...

Broken by Carlton last week (just as Port was) 😁
