Really don’t see Tomlinson (and probably Turner) as anything other than excellent depth for the backline if we lose Petty or May or Lever. I am not as sold on TMac as some others seem to be (hope I’m wrong and yes I know “structure, covers territory, etc”) Doesn’t seem that long ago he was the subject of regular derision. Would really like to see Schache (no. 2 pick and over 200cm) and of course JVR given opportunities, they are more where our future forward talls lie. BBB is a great forward but realistically, like TMac coming to the end of his career. One things for sure…Casey’s in for another top year.

From a Boomer - Think the melbournefc website uses Telstra Web Services. Considering what Telstra charge for hosting, updates, etc. the club could save enough using any of a multitude of other CMS to have money to employ a person to look after the site, do daily updates and create regular stories. I would be confident I could replicate the current content in Joomla, Wordpress or Drupal inside a couple of days. Not all Boomers are Luddites.

I have a bit of a different take on Lever - love his work but I get the impression some players may not take him seriously - he is a bit of a different cat I reckon. Viney is obvious but reckon he has found his niche as the perfect VC Now he has a long term contract I think Gus would be a good heir apparent- he portrays as mature, articulate and I think would handle the additional pressure that Trac may not. All guesswork really.

For those that value loyalty to club it is funny that a Weideman leads the pack at MFC.

I may be wrong because I have been predicting Cat’s demise for years but I reckon Pies may drop way down next year. It’s not possible to keep having the luck in close matches they had this year which then led to an overachieving emotionally driven finish. Maybe deGoey sees greener pastures.

I have a newly discovered dislike of the Lions but I don’t think that can compete with decades of Pies and years of Cats loathing. For me an ideal GF now would be Swans Lions with Swans winning to take all the media love of Pies and Cats away. I appear to be bitter and twisted.
