  1. Yes we agree here. Unsurprisingly positive goal difference is also highly correlated with winning… Maybe high metres gained correlates with using the boundary more (our older style) since longer metres gained due going wide against oppo going straight? I’m just not sure as a team stat what insight we gain from it.
  2. I would have thought difference in metres gained can only be due to 3 things: Team goal difference - reset to centre 4 x random events - where the ball was at the end of the quarter relative to the centre. Noise - measurement error, bias, not measuring straight up and down the ground, etc Metres gained generally need to be lost by the other side? Basically should correlate with goal difference and not add much?
  3. Yes he was diagnosed with concussion and will miss 12 days/2 games as mandatory precaution. Don’t think he lost consciousness though.
  4. Didn’t knock him out, surprisingly broke his nose but appeared unintentional contact. Probably should have got the same as Heeney - both off or both one week.
  5. Karma. Wasn’t Heeney smiling on TV when he marked over Trac, cracking the first rib and tickling his spleen…
  6. What if their ruck isn’t ticklish?
  7. Worse, the round 0 winner was out of 4 games…. But, doesn’t really compromise the award though. Yes you need to be nominated to win, but an early/sneaky nomination won't win you the whole thing.
  8. Not defending this, but explaining: Rising star nominations mid/later in the season are effectively on a ‘body of work’ rather than a single game. Darcy likely came very close to a nomination in earlier rounds and missed, and has now ‘accumulated’ one. Kolt can still get one, 2-3 more decent games may do it.
  9. Darcy Jones from GWS got it this round. But Kolt still has time to snare one.
  10. AMW -> BMW -> Beema ? goes alright 👍
  11. Was a fair way away I thought was high but light and unintentional contact, McGovern was the ‘milkman’ here.
  12. Played well, lots of upside as has pace and hardness. Needs to choose the 35-40m pass over the 15-20m one a bit more.
  13. Which forward are you dropping for Jeffo?
  14. Will get off on the Cripps rule.
  15. Think we need Petty in the backline next week on 2 metre Peter.
  16. Thanks @WalkingCivilWar we love your work
  17. And he stopped wine-ing
  18. Testing out Trac’s ribs, BBB style

He should have just been frank about it
  20. I think the only possible rule change regarding collision injury is, if action found negligent/avoidable you miss the same period your victim misses. Initially the period is unknown so the suspension is indefinite. In the Maynard case, if action found negligent/avoidable would only play again after Brayshaw cleared to play, regardless of whether he did or not. This could be harsh but would pretty much eliminate the nasty stuff. There may need to be a maximum period, perhaps 1 year.
  21. Farmer’s 9 goal 2nd half against Collingwood must be pretty close
  22. Essendon are 13th on the percentage ladder, just behind us.
  23. And a rather nice bump
  24. I like the universe where we open the finals box and the Cats are dead.
  25. Jeffo reminds me a little of young Fraser Gehrig. Young Fraser had all the talent, maybe better wheels, a bit heavier at mid 80kgs, great mark and very good kick. Fraser worked very hard in the gym put on muscle/mass every year and finished up a great career a monster at almost 110kgs. In the wrestling/congested forward line we have these days he would be even more of a handful. Jeffo needs time - we’ll see if he has the work ethic and physiology. If Jeffo debuts this year let’s go easy on him.
