Relax? How can I? We are about to play the dogies tonight! I could only listen to the game last night but it appears to me that both these sides will most likely be serious contenders come year end. I hope I am wrong

I could only listen to the game. In my opinion Collingwood is a serious contender this year. I hope I can say the same for the mighty Dees around this time tomorrow night. GO DEES!!!

    A draw- priceless 🙃
  4. A champion team will always beat a team of champions. It appears to me that this year we have recaptured the culture of being a champion team. Even with our outs we will be competitive. GO DEES!
  5. Normally I’d be at the game but this time round I will be on a boat somewhere near New Zealand trying to catch Covid. My bad, I booked tickets ages ago without thinking 😭
  6. Pleasing to hear that he was talking about 3 to 5 year forward timeframe. GO DEES!!
  7. Could be a blessing in disguise. Gives some of our very good back up players opportunity to play in the ones and get exposure and experience. Also gives you confidence to then promote these guys when we have injuries/ form concerns / resting players ( to keep them fresh for the back half of the season). This would also give Salem opportunity to do a ‘pre season’ load so that he comes back fit and ready to go.
  8. Hey 58er, I’m not sure what issues you have with me and my posts (That’s not the first crazy or ridiculous comment from Wod). Hey, but you have me curious? Could you either pm me a summary (or detailed listing) of the crazy and ridiculous comments that I have made. Or alternatively you can post them in this thread. I really don’t care which way you choose to respond. And…..I promise not to respond. As I said above, I’m just curious to find out which of my prior posts irk you to such a degree that you got to put it out there. At the very least I would like to think that one thing we do have in common is that we have the Dees in our hearts……(I hope) Cheers
  9. To clarify- I’m sure he can and most likely will get a game/s due to injuries or form drop throughout 2023. I don’t think he will be in the starting line come first game. And then if he does get a gig and perform that would be fantastic….. I just feel that 2024 will be his breakout year. If he does it sooner, great.
  10. Looked very smooooth pretty much all game. Five goals to none in the first quarter, break even the next two and then slightly upped the ante in the last. Stand out was quick decisive entries into the forward line and the Grundy and Max combination up forward worked well. Dare I say it, I reckon there is a good chance that JVR’s entry into the big time might be delayed. In my opinion, all good, let him put on another year of building up his footy smarts. He is still just a ‘kid’.

In 2021 we had a great side and a good run with injuries. Unfortunately in 2022 we had a poor run with injuries. It takes a good fit side to win a premiership which means that there is always an element of luck involved…..unfortunately. Fingers crossed for 2023.

Oh what a shame if that is the case 😉
  13. I better dig a hole! (a deep one at that)
  14. So the peroxided attention seeking, knee dropping, forward diving, free kick seeking piece of excrement has managed to make headlines again. Eff me! Oh well, just one more reason to up the ante in ‘loving to hate’ him and Collingwood supporters that much more when we play them this year. Only downside is that I am certain this will give their feral supporters one more reason to idolise him that much more. Life sucks at times. Hope we smash ‘em this time round.
  15. In 2021 all through the year I thought that we were ‘real contenders’. The season was pure joy. (throughout and obviously at the very end) In 2022 (even when we were winning games in the first half) I thought that at best we were ‘contenders’. I felt very frustrated at times. Obviously 2023 has not yet started. I hope that we again show signs early on that we once again will be ‘real contenders’. 🤞 GO DEES!!!

Ditto, I was five when Melbourne won its flag in 64. My older brother (6) and next door neighbour supported the Dees. I made the switch. It was a long 57 years for me but it was worth the wait. Said it before, I was fortunate enough to attend the GF in Perth (legally). The only thing left for me is to see them do it at the G.🤞Can’t wait! GO DEES!!
  17. Good question!
  18. Wodja the Wottweiler
  19. Exactly, all the more reason then to crank it up a notch or two!
  20. …..and when you rock up to the G with your family…. make some NOISE! 😎👍
  21. I was just having a beer and happened to read about May extending his contract….all of a sudden the beer tasted just that much better GO DEES!
  22. Please excuse my ignorance.. I know that there are 6 backs, 6 forwards and 2 wings. That leaves a ruck, ruck rover, rover and centre as well as the interchange players. Excluding the ruck, I presume ‘mids’ is a collective for the other three mid fielders (ruck rover, rover and centre). I am guessing that one or even possibly two of the interchange players may also be classified as mids (player rotation). My presumption being that the team sheet titles (ruck rover, rover and centre) are in a sense are now outdated. Happy to be corrected/ educated or even ridiculed because of my ignorance!
  23. I want and expect Carlton to just miss out making the eight again…….just because 😎
  24. 100% agree. Her special comments in the 2021 finals series were very informative (picking up on May’s hamstring issues as one example that comes to mind). When it comes to providing comments during actual games on tactics or analytics, in my opinion, at the moment she would be one of the best if not the best. I would like to think that I am not at all influenced by the fact that she is associated with Melbourne or a female. She is just very good! As an aside, I used to ‘love to hate’ Mathew Richardson as a player but actually was quite impressed with how went as a commentator after he retired from playing.
  25. Makes me admire her that much more!
