Who Will Be Our Next Coach?
There's just been a hell of a lot of colouring in of James Kelly's attributes in this thread without any basis except a report that he impressed the selection committee and he's been at Geelong so must be good.

Assistant Coaches in 2026
Daisy was an assistant at Geelong AFLM, she's been promoted to head coach of an AFLW team, the next step for Daisy, if she wants it is head coach of an AFLM team.

Luci, yes I think it's 3 Senior slots, but only 2 A-Rookie slots so far because we have Henderson, Kentfield, AMW and Culley?

so it begins ...- Delistings 2025
Primary delists: Spargo, Billings, Fullarton, Woewodin Rookie delists: Hore, Verrall, Sestan, Brown, Henderson Four Primary delists and we already have connections with White, Sinnema, Derksen, Heath and Windhager - we'll need to trade a couple of players and/or delist and re-rookie some contracted players (e.g. Laurie, McAdam). We might get away with B Rookieing Sinnema if he gets through the draft. We need to lose 2 Rookies just to get back to par, so those 5 off would give us 3 Rookie slots. We should probably re-rookie Spargo if no-one picks him up, it's the right thing to do for a player who gets a serious injury in the line of duty.- Who Will Be Our Next Coach?
Hard to understand why you're not on the shortlist of candidates really.- Christian Petracca and Clayton Oliver in 2026
Even lockdown smalls get possessions in the backline where turnovers are most expensive so you need the best kicks there. Viney is still quick over the first few steps and has elite concentration and dedication to the task.- The List Manager Tim Lamb
The only reason to do that is if we need desperately need the list spot.- Christian Petracca and Clayton Oliver in 2026
If Viney could kick better he'd be a very good lockdown small defender.- Marcus Windhager
Wait what? Didn't you assure us that Jeffo has this covered?- Luke Jackson back to Victoria?
It is a good deal for the Cats but Smith was out of contract, it does make a big difference to the asking price. Aa @rpfc said, my post of 3 firsts plus McVee injects some reality into the discussion for both those that say it's impossible and those who believe it is possible.- Who Will Be Our Next Coach?
Bucks had to deal with Eddie and Pert, he's certainly had some tough schooling and would have learnt plenty from the experience.- Christian Petracca and Clayton Oliver in 2026
I hope we retain both Petracca and Oliver. Based on observation this season I do think Oliver is more likely to return towards his best than Petracca who faces some challenging issues, but he's still a very good player. Contrarily (did I invent a new word?) Petracca has more trade value than Oliver in both direct return and/or salary cap relief. If we're trading one then it's Petracca for me, but I want to keep both and see what a new coach can create with them.- Who Will Be Our Next Coach?
Buckley "not a complete failure" as a coach, wow you're harsh. He was Dom Sheed magic away from a flag and followed up with PF and SF finals and then his message ran out. All coaches except Chis Scott and Kevin Sheedy have a use-by date at a club and even Sheedy ultimately did. Buckley's coaching trajectory at Collingwood was similar to Goodwin's at Melbourne except he didn't snag that elusive flag. I don't think anyone is describing Simon Goodwin as "not a complete failure". Buckley did preside over cultural change at Collingwood, he inherited the "rat-pack" of players and weeded them out and then took his list to within a kick of the flag. He's been there, done that and IMO has grown from the experience. I'm with @Ted Lasso and his persuasive posting, Buckley is the right choice for Melbourne at this time.- Luke Jackson back to Victoria?
Carlton's 1st via Petracca to Hawthorn, our 2026 and 2027 1sts and McVee would get it done if Jackson pushed hard for it.- Rowan Marshall

Papley just turned 29 in July and this season is the first that he has missed substantial games through injury. He's played most matches, most years. He's young enough to get back to it. Look at Jamie Elliott.- CASEY: Elimination Final vs Williamstown
Trade, Draft and Free Agency board is your friend for this information.- Trade Targets
Swap Papley for Campbell and I'd do that deal if I was Carlton.- Christian Petracca and Clayton Oliver in 2026
I appreciate your point Sue. I think the benefit, at least to me, of search, maps and translate outweigh the downside. Instagram is a bit of fun. Anyway back to Trac and Clarrie. Anyone is tradable for the right price. I don't think we can get value out of a Clarrie trade in salray cap relief or picks so unless he's disruptive to culture I'd keep him. I'd prefer to retain Trac too, but a trade for him could deliver value so I'd be open to that if it clearly benefitted the club.- Christian Petracca and Clayton Oliver in 2026
Google built search to make money Sue. I think there's a lot of hysteria about the "algorithm". It knows what I'm interested in so it serves me content about footy, skiing, surfing, wine etc and Ads relating to those areas, often about products I haven't heard about and that I have gone on to buy and enjoy. I generally don't get content I'm not interested in and if I do I skip it and the algorithm realises I'm not intetested. The only annoying thing about the advertising is when I research something and make a purchase, the Ads for products in that area keep coming for some time. A way to say "i already got one" would be nice. The problem is not social media and the algorithm, it's stupid people.- Christian Petracca and Clayton Oliver in 2026
Social media platforms have always been commercial ventures, they were never public services. Ways have been found to monetise them and that was always the plan. They haven't been "hijacked".- Trade Targets
