Will you be satisfied with the Season of 2021 even if we lose the Preliminary Final
No, we need to win the Premiership this year.

PF: Melbourne vs Geelong
Stakes are very high but we wanted it that way. I'm grateful we have the opportunity to put the final stamp on those smug campaigners' era. Max, Clarrie, Jack and Steven are between them and the GF, Geelong aren't going there.

The common thread between 20 of the last 21 Premiers
The "fact" that there is only a 5% chance in the last 20 years that the Premier will have kicked more behinds than goals in the final series is NOT the same as - if you kick more behinds than goals you have a only 5% chance of being Premier. The comparative data you are looking for is how many time finals teams have kicked more behinds than goals. Think about it this way - how many times has the Runner-up kicked more behinds than goals?

I 've been on the bandwagon that poor scoring conversion is a big risk for us this year and has cost us games. But your "5% chance" reasoning is flawed. If it's correct does that mean if we kick more goals than behinds there's a 95% chance we'll win the flag? No team in the last 20 years has won the flag with a 208cm bald ruckman - we're clearly no chance ...

CHANGES: PF vs Geelong
Accurate analysis. We're in flag mode and Smith wasn't good enough at that level on Cameron who is probably the best going. Different opposition may be a different proposition. Port have some class small forwards.

Will Nathan Jones get a farewell game?
There's 45 on the list: 26 in Adelaide including JJ, Jones, Melky, Hibbo and there's 16 in the photo. That means 3 missing? I guess someone took the photo - who's not in it - Vanders, Thommo and Declase?

McGowan was just re-elected with a Massive Majority reflecting WA's approval of his approach. Once vaccination gets to 70% and then 80% McGowan will be faced with some challenging choices.

FINALS: Week 01 2021 (NON MFC)
Essendon just bombing into the forward 50. Dogs with so many left footed play-makers want to play the right hand wing going forward.

TICKETING: GF vs Bulldogs
I agree - I've had the GFG for as long as I can remember, probably 15 years, including the Neeld years. I hope if we do win the flag this year there is some sort of exclusive event for those us in that position.

So built his reputation on "Oliver is a good player", OK?

I see Kane Cornes is saying "ask Matt Stevic what he thought because Stevic is a 400 game, 8 GF umpire". That's exactly why this should not be a factor - a 15 year old rising umpire is not Matt Stevic and players need to understand that respect must be shown. Greene cannot under any circumstances play again this year, it will be a total joke if he does, three weeks minimum penalty.

CHANGES: PF vs Geelong
AFAIK Smith was on Cameron and was well beaten but he wouldn't have been Robinson Crusoe. Bowey was caught twice by the increased pace and pressure of finals and looked vulnerable, but I liked the way he backed himself in the last quarter and played some good footy. I think Hunt comes in for one of them. TMac is not having the direct impact of the first half of the year but he provides structure and allows Fritsch, Brown, Jackson and Gawn freedom. I don't think we need another small forward with ANB, Kossie, Spargo added to by Sparrow, Harmes and Viney. I'd persist with TMac. Sparrow has made it very tough for JJ, Jones and VDB.

The teams are very even, but one cause for MGC optimism is that we have Jack Viney - it's his season now.

Agree. There's many types of back surgery from laminectomy (I've had one) through to fusion. All back surgeries are definitely not equal.
