  1. Robbo's useful - he's a pack marking, goal kicking, sometime match-winning forward - that's why he's got trade value. I don't think you'll see too many articles where clubs are chasing players who are useless. But he's 29, has a bung knee and is not a team player. Yze and Bizzell illustrate the risks of giving players in this situation 3 years, we're absolutely right sticking with 2 years or trade him if we benefit.
  2. That's the whole basis of your argument! Nihongo! - how about how the fact that both systems are massively skewed in favour of 8th over 9th? Surely that must have you in tears?
  3. Why not use a platform like this? If it costs money I'm sure the loyal demonology crew would ante up. They're quite passionate.
  4. I'd be happy to see Newton take #3
  5. Even I prefer Whelan to Godfrey. Whelan + Bartram >> Bartram + Godfrey hard v brave reminds me of fast v quick a few years back. But I think I know what you mean - Green is a good example - brave but not hard.
  6. I think Godfrey's hardness was pretty well demonstrated by his ability to get up after being punched or elbowed in the guts off the play and get up and run to the next contest. I saw that a number of times. I'm not 100% sure about Junior is always first to the contested ball - there's a reason he makes so many tackles. I think Jones gets over the ball.
  7. That's exactly right, that list is wrong and the most you should have done was link to it in the first place, then at least people could make up their own mind about the value of a list that was "floating around". You're not "helping" anyone by posting incorrect information.
  8. That's a guess not a fact. It's wrong for sure - Michael Newton is contracted for 2008 and that's just one example. Why post a list like that without any qualification? Like: "I think this is it" or "I read some guy on BigFooty who thinks this is it". The same thing happens with these lists like the draft order, some one regurgitates some crap and it it becomes a "fact". Notorious posters on Demonology have been perpetrating an incorrect out of contract list for a number of years now.
  9. I know what you're saying BBP. Why is he always injured and especially at the critical time of the year? And the trend is getting worse rather than better. Unfortunately as you say his trade value has bottomed out and it's not worth doing. There are other players on the list that retain high trade value who may be in this situation in a year or two. We should learn from the Whelan experience.
  10. And I thought he was just pointing at his direct opponent and asking someone to man him up ...
  11. Thread is very useful if people actually have first hand info in draftable players. What's less useful is definitive statements about who will go where in the draft. Like Bob says - what if Carlton trade pick 1 to WC for Judd - is it certain that WC will take Kreuzer? Nobody knows for sure.

    Geelong.
  13. It's hard to tell with you "mate". Your track record is patchy ... Was that also sarcastic or would you really trade McLean or Rivers for a top 10 pick? It's never a good sign when Yze Magic agrees with you
  14. I actually think the other two may be thick enough to think that logically follows, but I'm surprised at you.
  15. Have you been missing?

  17. OK great then because you're so certain you'll be happy to pledge a year's salary to the MFC if it doesn't happen?
  18. The only people whose opinions matter are Hughes, Miller (unless he's been replaced) and Cameron - all the rest is speculation. I saw on this thread some reference to Ratten's opinion - his opinion would/should be advisory at most - it's the recruiter's job to select the draft talent.
  19. Needs 10,000 kicks to become a player - 9,714 to go
  20. Interesting choice for Richmond at 2 if the Blues take Kreuzer at 1. Take a small in Cotchin?
  21. If it was certain that we wont win a flag in my lifetime I would be out of here. I believe we will and that sustains me.
  22. Close, but more likely: "Sheedy missed an opportunity" to coach us. With his record he would clearly have started front-runner in the quest and was my preferred candidate. My take is that he just didn't present as well as the other candidates and this confirms the fears of those against Sheedy's appointment that - while he was once a great coach - HE is now over it.
  23. On the other hand Haydo would have us believe Sheedy has had the job for weeks and the whole process is "just window dressing" - but those who support Sheedy don't have a problem with that. I'd be very unhappy if that was the case and I'm confident it isn't. Schwab was part of the early process and has been brought back in to fill in for Chris fagan who has been excluded because he's leaving - there's nothing sinister about that. In the absence of inside information or being part of the process I'm a Sheedy supporter because his great record outweighs the doubts about whether he is past it. But really I'm a supporter of the process - we need to examine all the candidates and find who is the best fit. Sheedy should start favourite for the reasons above but who knows what may happen thru the process - he may shine or he may bomb, clearly he's gone OK because he made it to the last 5. I want us to choose the best coach, if that's Sheedy great, if it's Bailey - who no-one here would've rated before the process started - then great too.
  24. uppa kaas iz ova raated. fonetiks rool!
  25. Yes it's exciting and Robbo is on 9 tackles for the year - maybe he can do the extraordinary and get into double figures tonight in honour of the skipper!
