  1. Pity ... a presentation to Chris Fagan on Carlton's gameplan going forward would've been very useful
  2. Trade him for an early 2nd rounder
  3. Hey Rhino, can I borrow a screwdriver ...
  4. Stats: Kicks: 14 Handballs: 0 Goals: 3 Arguing with umpire while opponent streams out of defence with the ball: 21 Pointing at his opponent hoping someone will pick him up: 32 Goal assists: huh???
  5. Final year of Adem Yze's contract - I'm expecting a big year from him in 2008.
  6. and increased the IQ of both places?

    BYRON PICKETT

I'll sign a petition to keep Byron ... away from the fridge.
  8. Yes agree with that and 1 yr contract with low base and decent match payments.
  9. Do you think we could get Nicho back in the Pre-season draft? That would be great!
  10. Hopefully our first final is not scheduled for Friday night because we play late on Sunday and that would give us only a 5 day break.
  11. Well they have an excess of ruckmen (altho Lethal likes to have plenty) - Charman, MacDonald, Wood and Leuenberger so it is possible that they would trade, but I agree not for Miller, we would have to offer something very good.
  12. Langford and Fitzpatrick wear their guernseys to Board meetings. It's what gives them credibility.
  13. Good for us draft-wise. The Blues had no hope of winning under Pagan and he was gone at year end anyway. Now with a caretaker there's at least some chance they'll win - look at us and Freo. And if they win they lose pick 1.
  14. Ah, that explains why he's injured all the time ...
  15. Are you actually trying to dispel the "lightweight" tag by suggesting you know "important" people - that is tragic!
  16. I think Connolly could make an excellent Footy Manager a la Balmey at Geelong who seems to have had a very positive impact there and may be one of the factors in their rise up the ladder - Brian Cook seems to think so. I also think ND could do the same and this may be a better career path for both. We have Chris Fagan contracted in that role so it's a moot point for us.
  17. Daniher had his time and his plan, even if it was held together by duct tape (not his fault we couldn't afford a welder) and as a result he turned the list over too slowly. But it was California or bust for him. Now we can turn the list over and we've got plenty of options. We could turnover at least 10 without getting to Godfrey and that would be enough. Therefore I'd retain him. Same with Jamar altho no-one will agree with me. If White and PJ both get injured next year and Holland is delisted then I don't want to ruck Neaves for 120 minutes. That's assuming we don't pick up a ready-to-go ruckman - if we do then Jamar can go. I'd definitely retain Wheatley.
  18. I heard Ratten thinks Sylvia is a dud
  19. That's a good point Nasher.
  20. C'mon Bobby - get with it! That approach will surely net us a coach who fits all the right criteria and will: - get the players to give 110% for 120 minutes - be happy with the 4 points - dot the i's and cross the t's - take it one week at a time, and not get ahead of ourselves ...
  21. Wow! That's insight? Yze has a contract for 2008 and is untradable. Godfrey has had his best year and will finish top 5 in the B&F.
  22. I know Smithee, real men just pluck it outta their arse ... They're damned if they do and they're damned if they don't. If they weren't consulting people with football experience we'd have 100 posts on here asking what do Gardner, Philips, Bickford and Harris know about footy. Yeah Walls is an idiot and Alves makes more sense, but Maclure (sp?) has a clue and I really like him as a choice. The sub-committee has got the testing (criticised elsewhere - big surprise), the advice and they are going weigh it up and make a decision. I'm fine with that. Posters here and at Demonology carry on as if we are consulting Steve Irwin via Doris Stokes and inspecting the applicants poo for a sign from the Lord.
  23. I see some discussion about ruckmen. This thread is principally about development of forwards. I re-read your posts and don't see any specific mention of key forwards developed at other clubs who were available to MFC - maybe I missed it. It's very difficult to find KPFs, we're not alone there. I think we're well placed with Bate and Newton now. I'm very keen to hear about other club's success compared with ours in this area ...
  24. We've failed relative to whom? Who are the key forwards that other clubs have developed who were available to us?
  25. Which tall forward was Bizzell playing on?
