  1. There are quite a few SA prospects in Twomey's top 30. Five in the first 20 and nine in the first 30. I think that's a lot more than usual and SA won the championship, unbeaten. It's a curious position for Port to take.
  2. Nothing. I'm assuming Port finish in a similar ladder position and the next draft is stronger. Port's F1 for 7 or 8.
  3. The alternatives are far less desirable. I'm grateful Oliver and Petracca didn't go to any of them. That would have been a hard watch.
  4. I wonder if Port would do F1 for 7 or 8 to get access to Schubert or Marsh?
  5. And not just to Coaches
  6. I like GWS, if we couldn't win the flag, I've hoped they do. That stays the same with Clarry at the club. I hope they win the flag and Clarry takes the Norm Smith. I'm less enthusiastic about Gold Coast.
  7. I like GC, but I think I'll like them a bit less next year.
  8. I think it's 8 and our F1 for 2 and 13 and we promise not to take WC's WA prospect at 7. Our F1 has a lot of value, clubs will think we finish 14th or worse next year. But we'd really want the player at 2 to do this.
  9. 2 is a lot more valuable than 3 because it's before any Richmond picks. And 3 is a lot more valuable than 4 because Richmond aren't going to trade their first pick but they would trade their second one. Despite points value, 7 and 8 isn't getting 2 and it isn't even getting 3 but it's too much for 4. Clubs will be thinking we finish bottom 6 next year, possibly bottom 4 or worse, so our F1 has a lot of value. They will also be thinking GC finishes top 6, possibly top 4 or better so that F1 has a lot less value. I think our F1 is probably about equal value with 7 and 8. Ask yourself whether you'd trade it for 7 and 8? Our F1 and 8 probably gets 2 and 13 provided we promise WC not to pick the WA guy at 7. We'd have to love Robey.
  10. Ed Langdon is very good too.
  11. Other options urgently for what role? Berry is described as a 194cm mobile defender. We're very well stocked there.
  12. I think pick trading up to and during this year's draft is going to be very interesting. We know who currently has 2025 picks but the two other things that are very important are who has highly rated Academy and F/S prospects for 2026 and what range do you think teams will finish in 2026. These two factors will heavily influence the possible movement of future 2026 picks. It's really impossible to predict what might be possible without taking all that into consideration. There's not a lot of current detail on 2026 prospects AFAIK (yeah Cody Walker is a top prospect), and it's personal speculation where teams might finish.
  13. I'm not a good judge of young talent but people who are seem to think it's extremely unlikely. He is described having good attributes for lower levels but they don’t translate to the AFL level.
  14. It will be interesting to see how he goes under Kingball. Like Spargo he was assigned a very rigid defensive role under Goodwin. I've watched him run up and down protecting a lane all quarter for no personal reward. He's very disciplined. Spargo left for more freedom, Sparrow should get some under King.
  15. We're not taking Derksen, that's dead. We have KPB options out the ying-yang - Turner, Petty, Adams, Lever, May, TMac and even when the last two retire at the end of next year we're still covered. We're picking up White who has played a bit of junior footy there too.
  16. CP3 now?
  17. Steven May is a superior and more versatile footballer than Lever or TMac and I'd struggle to see Adams played ahead of him unless we're full development mode. The reason he was on the trade table wasn't about football abilty. I think he has to figure in best 23 and if he can reform his ways under the new regime maybe there's an extension there.
  18. Agree but maybe it's King's special subject and he can cover the gap on strategy and Jones can manage execution.
  19. I read or heard somewhere Nathan Jones referred to as "midfield coach", I think it was in relation to the Steele recruitment.
  20. B: Howes Petty May HB: Jiath Turner Bowey C: Langdon Rivers Windsor R: Gawn Steele Pickett HF: Langford JVR Chandler F: Viney Mihocek Fritsch I: Salem Lindsay Culley Tholstrup Heath E: Lever Sparrow Melksham
  21. Ed Langdon?
  22. Top 10 clubs who improved in trade period: Brisbane, Gold Coast - a lot, with Academy players to come: A Sydney - a decent amount: B GWS, Fremantle - marginal: C Top 10 clubs who didn't improve at all in trade period: Adelaide, Hawthorn, Geelong, Bulldogs - no improvement and each has a clear problem list problem, but did at least retain a latish first round pick - E Collingwood- no improvement and no first round pick - F
  23. Is Dovaston > Sumner-Pickett?
  24. Trade period posting is a lot like gameday posting.
  25. I wonder if Henderson could play lockdown defender?
