  1. We booked with Jet star for the May game against the Suns some time ago. $230 ea rtn
  2. I was on Foxplay through the Xbox last year and have taken up Fox Now for this season. Does anyone know if the Blackout still exists for this year? We were subjected to it twice last year that I know of.
  3. BB, I had a long running discussion with an influential/ legendary coach in the Central Highlands (he also played a few games with the Doggies), he always said umpires don't determine the outcome of games. He said this right up to the time of his passing. I always knew what he meant, a team needs to be good enough to overcome ALL opposition and if that means defeating 2 oppositions, fate, karma and luck then so be it. That never stopped me from arguing that poor Umpiring decisions can sometimes defeat the best of teams in a close contest. I've also said that the better you play the better the decisions seem to be. It's unconscious bias and as the umpiring becomes more professional I hope the decision making will also.
  4. Aaaha, people.... oh and politicians
  5. Except when they are influenced by inaccurate kicking and umpires
  6. Thanks for that once again but please don't have any more weak moments
  7. Will keep my fingers crossed for you. Great thing about the Chromecast, if you're staying anywhere with half decent WiFi you get to take your Netflix , Stan etc where ever you go on a big screen as well.
  8. BBO, I recently gave you some sage advice regarding you flogging yourself. I would exhort you to follow my advice and stay well away from what passes as entertainment for the mindless masses.
  9. G'day ET, like you, I cancelled my Fox Play (through Xbox One) at the end of the season saving $50 a month (had the Movie pack as well). Recently I put some of the money into a Chromecast Ultra and signed up to Foxtel now. With the Ultra you can also use an Ethernet cable if you have one, which I do. Set all this up yesterday to watch the AFLW Demons game. Running through a 55" Kogan 4K LCD TV it was the best picture I've ever had off Foxtel. No buffering, no poor image quality and no freezing which had often been the case in the past. Only problem I had was with the initial set up where I was using my old Ipad mini to cast and it would stall or freeze. Soon as I switched to my Nokia 6 smart phone everything went perfectly. I guess what I'm getting at is it is possible to get great pictures off Foxtel with the right set up.
  10. Completely disagree.............. you figure out the bit I mean
  11. No, but it is to belittle one by constant reference to the other.
  12. Nope, they still have one more big session up North so Wed I believe but not sure if at Gosch's
  13. Thanks Saty, Jackaub hasn't replied to my question so one can only assume they are off getting in touch with their feelings.
  14. I went along to training 2 weeks ago with the specific aim of looking at the players in rehab. I spent 15 mins watching Jones in competitive work and he certainly didn't look like a player who was struggling with a calf. So I'm interested in what you have observed or who have you spoken to that makes you think the injury is "much worse"?
  15. Hi DV, Roys Boys will go around again, R.Flower league if I remember correctly. Thanks for organizing this again, no small feat
  16. Thanks Wise, I spent many years over at "ology" and then unfortunately Tim got ill and probs with the site meant the more astute as opposed to emotional posters had to migrate to "land" over time I hoped the influx of reasoned posters might counter the other kind. Unfortunately that has not been the case.
  17. If I went to my Union, my boss would say what he said last time "it appears you are correct"
  18. Got along for about an hour with Mrs Worship, Agree with everything everyone else has said. Only a few things to add. Thought Tim Smith cannot be far off rejoining the main group, was impressed with how good his marking, speed and kicking was. Also looks to have put on a bit of size in the arms and shoulders. Jones looked ready to go and for those Kent followers; no he didn't look like he was going flat out at everything but he and Jones were very competitive with each other and there was a lot of banter and smiles, didn't look disinterested at all. Balic looked a little sore/tired to me and I saw him get quite a bit of treatment from one of the trainers. This would have been after the 2km trial, which we didn't see, so that may have had an effect. Some of the funnier /lighter moments in the main group were seeing Jeffy trying to stop/tackle Maxy and at one stage JKH had to take on/tackle first Jessy and then Max in quick succession. Really enjoyed the 9 x 9 drill mentioned earlier and the comments about Dion were what I saw too, but it was also interesting how often Keilty was on the end of the possession chain kicking at goal. I can't not mention young Clayton, I wasn't paying particular attention to him today but he is eye catching and he will surprise a few with his further improvement. From what I saw today I think the Cats might get a bit of a shock in the opener. Can't wait.
  19. Is there a double face palm emoji? Hey mods, I think we need one and a tongue in cheek one while your at it.
  20. For all the angst and hand ringing this has created, I think this will tell us more about Goodwin than anybody else and so far I think he's off to a good start.
  21. I look back at some of the things Bomber Thompson tried and then said when the Cats became a dominant team. I think it went along the lines " I stepped back once the Leadership Group started leading, they drove the standards they set the agenda". This is not the non leaders group from years ago. I have no problem with them stepping up and saying "No" to something they don't agree with. The proof will be in how much they "drive" the season. If Goodwin has a Messiah complex he will fail, if the "players" drive the season it will be a great thing IMHO. I cannot fathom how the current player group has not got the drive to go all the way and on that basis if they have said no to something, I think they need to be supported.
  22. So we (Mrs Worship aka "The Stalker) went down for our first training session for the season. Generally I thought the boys looked good and went through a solid session. As others have noticed in recent times training is at high intensity/speed for the most part and you rarely see the ball hit the ground by comparison to other years. I particularly wanted to have a look at Lever, Balic, Maynard and the new boys. Lever is everything others have said, we're very happy with the addition. Balic had more size to him than I thought and didn't do a lot wrong. I think he is building nicely. Maynard with a full preseason will be pushing everyone for a permanent midfield role. Of the new "kids" Bayley Fritsch seemed to be in everything and that seemed to be by design ie a lot of players were looking for him and finding him. Also liked the look of "Krusty" although he appeared to be on limited time. One piece of late info I overheard, which we're not happy about if true, is the absence of Hunt (a Stalker favorite) may be linked to a back injury and the word serious was mentioned.
  23. And your contribution is.......................... Off to ignore you go
