Farewell Jesse Hogan
We have a winner!! Beers are good downstairs but the Whisky Master upstairs knows his spirits. I don't want to deter anyone but Mrs Worship was impressed with the 60 or so varieties of Gin and the 80 odd Vodkas as well

$1.2m ... time to dig the old "Scully" money bag out of the bottom draw. No matter what we get in return he will need to cop it if he plays us over here and his nose needs to be rubbed in it during our next 5 yrs of dominance.

Farewell Jesse Hogan
Cannot be bothered going back through the 46 previous pages to see if this has been raised previously but my response to an Essendon supporting mate today was.... "why the rush, I'd like to see a Demons side with any 3 at one time of Weid, Tmac, Gawn, and Hogan on the ground. Occasionally we might have all 4 out there, wouldn't that be a nightmare for the opposition. Our side is not based on a stay at home forward or a ruck that only does ruck work. People need to stop buying into media BS and realise there may be a case to eventually trade someone to make for a stronger list but at the moment we have no idea where the ceiling is for most of the current list . In simple terms .. lets not throw the baby out with the bath water.

Love watching the effort of both Spargo and Fritsch. Particularly Spargo as he goes from contest to contest.

I like what you bring to the forum and appreciate your comments and support of the club however you are trashing yourself and your information if you don't acknowledge you were incorrect in some of your assertions. It's called being humble.

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - CLAYTON OLIVER
The knock on Wines in the draft (on here and elsewhere) was always; no upside, no class, no polish and Toumpas was seen as best available ( If Roos had the final say I think the outcome would have been different). Toumpas was always a smooth mover, looked good, not stilted or mechanical at all. Sorry, I can be a bit obtuse, first and foremost, we no longer recruit players who are not competitive and they usually have second and third efforts. We also seem to now pick players who are well developed in the lower body. For these reasons it wouldn't surprise me if Oliver was picked up, he wont look classy but that's not a term I've heard applied to Viney, Capt Chunk or Brayshaw. I'm pretty sure Clarkson has stated he would want Viney's attitude in every player he ever coached. Oliver appears to have a similar way, certainly Wines does and although Parish doesn't really fit the "build" he appears to have the attitude also. I'm not saying we should take Oliver at 3 but if we did I can understand why.

You wanted Toumpas ahead of Wines? That's my second point.

Sooo, you wanted Toumpas?

No they don't, just look at body shape from the waist down and then compare with Brayshaw and Wines when they were taken. Low centre of gravity, strong through the core and hips, and real competitors.
