WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - TOM SPARROW
I'll try and rein in my argumentative tendencies and simply ask you for further and better particulars when you pontificate. In your latest effort you have introduced "his over-condition for elite AFL", can you explain what you mean by over condition? Also mentioned "cut" again and the lack thereof (apparently some of him is cut). What is your definition of "cut?"

What he said- A day on the paddock
Mrs Worship in the background in one of the shots, thankfully I'm blocked by the player lol.- WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - TOM SPARROW
Sorry but I think this comment is overly presumptive, disrespectful and most probably ill founded. Speaking to a regular at training (not Saty, although he would probably agree with my sentiments), the problem is more likely his body type/shape. My friend would like to see him fined down a la Harmes, as from observation Trac struggles to keep at that peak. I had an interesting debate with him because we didn't know if it was possible and what would be given up if it happened. I quoted Tracs current ability to absolutely bust through tackles and we both want to see him able to do it repeatedly but currently after he does this he is like a capacitor that needs to be recharged till he can go again. This might look to your eyes like he is standing around satisfied with himself but I do not agree.- How Many Wins in 2019?
Interesting, I'd like to see a breakdown. As we play Tiges, Woods and Eagles twice have we been picked to lose twice to each or breakeven. Cannot see anyone saying we will beat all 3 twice but wouldn't say beating one of those teams twice is impossible. So the premise is; have some wins against those three and they are likely to slip down and us move up.- Training - Wednesday, 12th December 2018
The best trainers were paired with the not so, that's my understanding of what was organized for the "break". I'm pretty sure that a player who was a not so good and then nominated someone else as a not so good wouldn't be teamed up with each other if that's what you're asking. I don't mind the idea as I think with our new "togetherness" the better trainers would take much enjoyment out of helping a fellow teammate improve and the NQR player could see what the better trainers did in the down time. From my observations and some of the other comments regarding "pairings" this appears to be a very clear strategy to keep players pushing each other. I think the pairings in some of the run throughs, eg Melksham and Hibberd are pitting mate against mate, in some brother against brother, big ruck against big ruck. I can imagine the coaches going to a really good trainer and saying "look you've nominated x as a not so good trainer, how do you feel about trying to help improve them over the break". I'd think it would form strong team bonds.- Training - Wednesday, 12th December 2018
I forgot to mention this after attending on Monday but I've been told during the exit interviews this year the players had to nominate their best trainer/preparer (is that a word) and a not so good trainer/preparer. Some of these were then "paired up" during the off season as a "learning" opportunity. Saty, have you heard about this?- Training - Monday, 10th December 2018
If you watch Nibbler when he gut runs he is a great proponent of the technique.- Training - Monday, 10th December 2018
Got there with Mrs Worship and a semi regular training watcher whose opinion I respect and who doesn't post here. The huddle was a big thing for me in that it is so obviously player driven. The coaches and support staff just stand back with grins on their faces. For those of you who cannot attend/ or have attended sparsely over the years, I can say that I've had my rose coloured glasses on over the last 7yrs I've been able to get to training (usually 2 or 3 times a year). The difference now is amazing and the level at which they are training prior to Xmas is so, so different to the past. Mrs Worship thought she would be bored after 45mins but couldn't believe how good it was to watch for 2 hrs. That was largely because there was always something different happening and the skill level was very sharp even when they had been deliberately fatigued. What a wonderful change from bygone years. Some particular highlights for me; * at some stage, under the new rules, Preuss will grab the ball out of the centre ruck ball up and kick an 80m torp for a goal (did this 2 or 3 times while we were there). * Our friend who has been to a number of earlier sessions said it has been amazing seeing May, KK and Preuss come on as they had really struggled with the fitness and to some extent skill level in the early sessions. This bodes well for their commitment and our staffs ability to get them up to speed quickly. This also left me with the feeling we can get more out of them than their previous clubs. * Max and Preuss really look like they get on well together however Max is enjoying showing who is top dog. Preuss may have some comeback in the long accurate kicking department however. * Near the end of the session it was big boy marking/spoiling one on ones between Max, Weid, Preuss and May with Jade Rawlings sending maybe 20 sky balls in their direction. Frustration was evident as anyone teamed up against May lost the contest. (cannot wait to see Tomahawk have the smirk consigned to history when playing against us in the future). Oh and Ben Brown might be in for a shock also. Not so highlights and in some cases awaiting further and better particulars; * Maynard was getting a bit of work on his groin near the end of the session (hopefully just tightness) * TMac was very quick to get his kicking boots off and walk back barefoot at the end. * Hannan still wasn't sighted. Other random obs, anyone in rehab doesn't wear a number, the only exception to this appears to be Preuss but we think they haven't been able to supply training tops big enough yet. Chandler really looks like he could be something. Likewise thought Bedford will really benefit from the program and may contribute earlier than some might expect. The other new faces really didn't look out of place without being outstanding. Having said that KK really does look classy. Pretty much agree with the other comments from those who attended.- Lewis Giving It Everything in 2019
Smacks of a player in the twilight of their career trying to get a one year extension. I'll be very happy if Lewis is demoted to Casey in round 3 because others have gone past him.- Lewis Giving It Everything in 2019

Lever won't play the first couple of rounds IMO. Oscar and Frost will get an opportunity to push their cases. Great position for the club to be in.- Demonland Podcast with Josh Mahoney TONIGHT 14/11 @ 8:30pm
After Harmes performance in the second half of the year we are unlikely to see him in anything but a run with role in which he wins plenty of his own ball.- Andrew Brayshaw
Sorry DC, you need to look up the meaning of protagonist. Gaff is a perpetrator and by extension most definitely not a victim.- Farewell Jesse Hogan
Retiring next year and intend to live a much simpler life. Thanks though.- Farewell Jesse Hogan
Very simplistic.- Farewell Jesse Hogan
Someone mentioned the word "pragmatic" eons ago, that is exactly the point. We are not after May because we don't wont JH. We want May if we lose Hogan. If there is a way to pick up May and keep Hogan then ....happy days!- Farewell Jesse Hogan
Hopefully someone will sit Jesse down without his Manager and explain the first rules of negotiation. 1. What are the needs of the other side? 2. Always look for the "Blue" Do I need to explain what the "Red" is! Take a bow Dorks! 3. Do your due diligence eg pressure points, hopes vs wants. 4. Only seriously low ball and potentially insult the the other party when having addressed the above 3 and being in a position of power and even then do it with grace and honesty. 5. Never give your hand away by making things public until you are sure of the outcome. 6. It's ok to withhold, it's not ok to mislead. (Caveat: Unless you absolutely know you won't get caught out) 7. The best and easiest negotiations are Win/Win I could go on but by now you might see that there is one side that has known what they are doing and if JH doesn't recognise that then I will be happy to see him cut lose next year. As a friend often says "You can't put brains in monuments". Disclaimer: Yes, I have significant training and experience in this area and I have had negotiations break down and people walk away. Never have I had a feeling that the people walking away didn't think I was not to be trusted or that our time had been wasted. - Training - Wednesday, 12th December 2018
