  1. The more astute on this site might be able to help me out here but isn't there an MCG sized oval at Fawkner Park. From memory I think it's called Cordner Oval. Easy walk to Sth Yarra Station and straight down Anderson St to the G. Has it ever been mentioned?
  2. One of my sources is suggesting Brayshaw may have aggravated the elbow on Monday. ?
  3. Would love to see the Forwards and Backs chart as well
  4. 2pm according to the fixture pinned to the side of Demonland. Have you never scrolled down that far?
  5. Since he was 17
  6. Bump I thought it appropriate as we get closer to the real stuff that we revisit some of the Forum revelations (to some). MFCSS has been alive and well as we count down to our opening game against West Coke. Among other snippets by the "great unwashed" I've come across is; Yes, many teams had bad injury runs last year so it is a poor excuse, especially when teams like St Kilda and Fremantle had runs just as bad, if not worse than Melbourne’s and still performed better. Yeah, sure, only the fourth worst on record They were incompetent and completely mismanaged the timing of all the off-season surgeries. It shouldn’t take 5 months to recover (this one was a real brain surgeon, apparently you come out of surgery completely healed and go straight into full contact drills), from pretty standard post-season surgeries that pretty much every club does with its players. Why weren’t they completed in the subsequent weeks of the prelim final loss? I think it is inexcusable if they are saying this is the reason for the players (all 17 of them) being unfit. Someone else mentioned Collingwoods run of injuries and the Dogs in their Priemership year. BOLLOCKS. Some on here have doubts and have been recently hand ringing about our growing injury list. I say they haven't been paying attention. Max has been quoted as being disappointed he didn't complete the last session of his preseason, (meaning he has completed everything else). Burgess has been talking about the Klm averages players have completed at the end of November (that we never got close to last year) People talk about preseasons and don't understand that there are phases and as far as fitness is concerned a great number of our players have completed the vast majority of the program. If you are going to talk about member engagement, I'd like to see some of the comparisons between last years preparations and this years. Some of this may be in the upcoming parts of "To Hell and Back" (not saying we are actually "back". I do hope that will ward off SWYL). As to paying attention; how many of you took note of Weid speaking about his hips and saying it had been great to train pain free.
  7. I wouldn't let her near those ........ she would serve the rest of her life in jail. (and think it was worth it and plead that she saved the taxpayers the burden of carrying the ........ ). Mrs W has very definite views and don't get between her and a MFC player. We don't call her 'Muma Bear" for nothing.
  8. Works for me. Mrs W would have it wrapped in barbwire though
  9. Think you'll find Brayshaw, Tomlinson, J Smith and O Baker might have a run somewhere. Not sure of the seriousness of Dunkley's ankle either.
  10. It surprised me when the 3klm TT was done this way. Pretty sure it hasn't been done this way previous. Much better than when we use to do them on the flat at Princess Park. Love Burgos approach, everything is done against resistance. Reminds me of Percy Cerutty pushing athletes up and down the sand dunes at Portsea.
  11. It still might have been. The story did say the tape was discarded during the session. The tape may have been a precaution against altered mechanics due to the ankle.
  12. And KK, Bennell
  13. If both play who misses out?
  14. Please, check for me but I think that's already been done. Please excuse the comment if your sensitive to criticism after all I wouldn't want to offend anyone over a question mark.
  15. Haaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa, Haaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa Haaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa, Haaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa. You're all so funny, did you come up with all this without adult supervision?
  16. That's just uncalled for. The desire statement in particular. If you think our male players are squibbing it, then I think either you are not paying attention or you are a troll . Alternatively you may have escaped Jim Henson's clutches.
  17. Considering the conditions I thought our skills were pretty good. I think the comments from the detractors are so influenced by the male version of the game, they need to put that aside. Often the Woman's game is slower in movement which allows reaction time in the mental game to be enhanced. I think that is why Daisy is so valuable. It always has more positives when you win but I enjoyed the Dees woman's side effort tonight as much for the plan and the execution as anything.
  18. It's not you but put in perspective the conditions are contributing to quite a few head highs. If they are there, then pay them.
  19. Oh, I forgot about him, he's the apprentice and takes his lead from his "mentors". This from his bio; “AFL umpires Dean Margetts, Jeff Dalgleish and Luke Farmer have shown me the professionalism required to succeed at AFL level and particularly over the last two years as a rookie, we have built strong relationships". Wonder if he's building "strong relationships" with the WC players like his mentors. I would suggest they would make a strong cast in a Jim Henson movie but it's the fact they are so blatantly biased that really gets to me. Gill the dill would be a major character in a Henson movie too, no doubt. A win in the west, with any 2 of this lot officiating, would be truly monumental.
  20. HEY THAT'S MY LINE! In fact, my signature on 'ology is "Never argue with fools, they will beat you with their experience" I wish I took my own advice more often.
  21. I think it's about time the likes of O'Brien catering (O'Brien Group) start sponsoring/ giving back to what has made them skwillions.
  22. I would be far more interested in the availability of these two; Jeff Dalgleish and Dean Margetts. If they are selected it will have way more influence on the outcome of the game.
  23. I think you would have to look at the scenario a little deeper. Playing WC over there (where I suspect we will get the 2 WC umpires) Followed up by the AFL love child and runner up in last years Premiership, would not be the normal start to a season in most of those cases. So those two loses would normally come at a different part of the year. Getting those 2 out of the way in the first 2 rounds shouldn't have any bearing on the rest of the season.
  24. Improve our inside 50 to goals ratio (to at least the League average) and results and finals will look after themselves. In the year from hell we were still 5th for inside 50 entries. We score goals from those entries and we reverse the rebound goal ratio as well.
  25. The Trainer/instructor can't do that.
