  1. I got down there today and saw 85% of the session. First off, I can confirm all the posts, positive and negative appear to be accurate from what I saw. I will try to add something to the reporting with small obs. There has been some comment around Gus and work rate at training and the coaching being questioned to correct this. Today I saw indications of Gus not working hard enough and then the coaches getting involved to remedy this. Big tick. Just loved this Trac vs May: Loved this, Trac busting tackles then tries taking May on, big fail, gets up laughing shaking his head like he should known better, then sprints 30m gets involved and wins the ball back!! AVB, don't be mistaken, if he plays all season we will have 23 players out there. It's not just what he brings in aggression but we will have a coach playing as well. I HAVE NOT SEEN THIS MANY PLAYERS IN MATCH SIM AT THIS TIME OF YEAR, EVER!!!! (12 Years). Just realised the above sounded way too positive. Therefore I must say; in greasy conditions there were some players who fumbled and didn't adapt quickly enough to the conditions and some of the known poor disposers did what they do. In a good, well drilled team, I think we can cover for them. There is some real competition for the starting 22 and some very good players might br playing at Casey
  2. Thanks KC, always appreciate your info on the Casey boys. Do you know when the fixture will be announced? Mrs Worship and I try to get to a few games every year and did well last year in getting to six, although the game at Coburg was a bit challenging weather wise and that's coming from someone from Ballarat.
  3. You are not following the logic; because you don't know therefore I am calling "BS". There is a difference between guessing and an opinion based on well-defined facts. You exhibit all of the former and none of the latter. You are absolutely guessing. This is not that unusual on this forum. I'm saying there have been a number of examples where Bennell has been included, welcomed and he gives every indication of enjoying his time and the opportunity being given to him by the Club. You're suggesting the Club is showing poor support to him on absolutely no evidence. I will call "BS" on this all day and please stop pontificating about things you are guessing at.
  4. There is a photo kicking around of May, Bennell and Lord Nev (the original) at a recent sporting event. I'm confident he is being made welcome. Alternatively I could say "long bow'', "storm in a tea cup" or other suitable expression to call "BS"
  5. Somehow I just cannot picture the contents of this thread having any replication on any other AFL related site
  6. Don't post anything like that again. It took me 10mins to clean the Merlot off the screen and keyboard
  7. Saty, that's way too positive a post, shame on you, focus on the negative man!!
  8. Me too, I'm 63 and railed against this most of my life. I've been a trainer / educator in various fields for 40 yrs. It is interesting to note that my qualifications are no longer recognised.
  9. Fair enough and I would say you will probably be right about all that next year, with the exception of Gus. I hope you are pleasantly surprised by the improvement in the team this year and hope a number of players mentioned are not required in the Snr's during the season
  10. Ok, we are screwed as none of the players mentioned will be of any use. I bow to your superior assessment. Have you considered running for local council or perhaps parliament you seem like the ideal polie. Long on what's wrong and how useless everyone is but never a plan to fix it. Sorry, other than throw a new draftee like Young in there and everything will be ok. I'll give you a chance to talk me around though, I will be at training 18 and 20 December hope to see you there and you can help me understand all the players individual flaws and why we won't be any good until we do as you suggest.
  11. Bit harsh on Weid seeing Petty is still in the rehab group as far as I know. Ahh, he didn't start until today, although I do take your point re what changed
  12. So Langdon, Tomlinson and Rivers don't count? JJ, Nietschke and Baker continue to develop. Oh and forward entries weren't the problem, the dysfunctional and decimated forward line was
  13. Fair enough, I went back over what we both posted and I apologize for being a smart arze, not my forte. LJ is ours for a couple of years now so time will tell.
  14. Bennell and Brown start on December 3 a non Gosch's day
  15. You will have to wait till tomorrow for Harley
  16. My take is; Nort expect us to finish 17th in 2020, haaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa
  17. Are you an authentic orstralian? That question is in no way meant to be racist or in any other way meant offensively. For clarification the image posted looks like Air Tractor. Crop dusting has a different connotation when mentioned in passing.
  18. (b) In addition to maintaining the maximum number of allowable Category A Rookie Players on their Rookie List under Rule 10.1, each Club may include a maximum of three (3) extra Players on its Category B Rookie List provided those Players are: (i) former International Scholarship List Players at that Club who have been nominated under Rule 13.5 or 13.8; (ii) former Club Academy players at that Club who have been nominated under Rule 14.4; (iii) International Players with the exception of Players who, subject to Rule 10.1(c), are Irish citizens or who have, in the opinion of the AFL, lived for a substantial period of time in Ireland prior to inclusion on the Rookie List; (iv) Players who have not been registered or played in an Australian football competition for 3 years immediately before inclusion on the Rookie List; (v) a Qualified NGA Player of the Club who has been nominated in accordance with Rule 15.8(c).
  19. You do realise Langdon and Tomlinson are from Victoria? Langdon in particular played TAC footy with Gus and Trac. Guess he was just returning like so many others. Melbourne has a supporter base of intellectuals, please try and keep the standard.
  20. Another poster mentioned the word "opportunistic" earlier and having listened to the comments coming out of the Club, I believe they have been very strategic in their drafting. The club never expected to have 2 picks as high as this in this years draft and prior to our poor showing this year thought they would trade for needs (which they have) and would take best available in round 2 and 3. The surprising opportunity has allowed them be a little more speculative and take a greater risk vs greater reward approach. If neither of these players reaches the level you would expect of such early picks I think we still have a solid team (and they should be solid contributors), with a great ability to succeed. If these two players become what I hope they will, it might just be the last two pieces of the puzzle that allows us to have sustained success. So many posters on here have asked/encouraged the Club to be bold, well they have been and I cannot wait to cheer all our new players on.
  21. Good luck with that. I think Pert has issued instructions to cut costs. You need to pay extra for your choice of player on the card and the choices are limited to around 6 players.
  22. A person from the baby boomer generation or really anyone who is older than the person using the word, usually used if said person is being annoying or talking shiet about a younger generation. Sometimes used in a joking way among friends. The Baby Boom generation is most often defined as those individuals born between 1946 and 1964. Many of the individuals on here born in that era would also identify a "Boomer" as a large male Kangaroo. A number of AFL players have answered to that nickname.
  23. Confusing your posts with satire is not something I've ever done. Ethan Trembay, now that's a funny cat.
  24. "Melbourne high performance boss Darren Burgess has given Bennell a light fitness program before he joins the club on December 3." Bennell revealed his former Suns teammate Steven May had played a role in helping him secure his pre-season opportunity at the Demons. “He’s fit and he’s flying. I haven’t seen him like this since the early days of the Suns,” Bennell says. With a dose of long-overdue good luck, Bennell might get the chance to remind the football world of his own special talents. With a dose of long-overdue good luck, Melbourne might get the chance to remind the football world of it's own special talents.
  25. Long as we see him at sometime in 2020, agree this year is a bit of a stretch.
