Mrs W and I get to about 11 or 12 live games each season and so we are really missing it this year. She of course pointed out today that we will miss the QB game on Monday. I replied inappropriately and got the death stare. I find the losses and the lack of a Premiership a bit like a kidney stone, I still hope it will pass. Yes, it will be painful but the relief will be joyous, I just hope I'm here to feel it. So each season I have high hopes and if it doesn't come to be then I will hope the pain will end the next season. Many posters believe the pokies decision was purely a social responsibility decision. I prefer to think it was just one of the factors. It's a bit like Alphabet Inc (think Google) pouring millions into electric cars. Sometimes decisions are made to get ahead of the curve. Poita's statement "it was a mistake to get rid of them without a backup plan" is a bit revisionist. 20/20 hindsight is used by many on this site, we really don't know what the "plan" is or was but nobody could've anticipated that our awful 2019 season would be compounded by a pandemic.

We''re all very critical and I think that is because of what WE want. People grow, learn and mature at different rates. For some; I'm sure nothing will ever be enough, even when we do win the next cup (that's not directed at you). What is directed at you is the comment about a huge game. No, he hasn't delivered a huge game... yet. I put a bottle of Jamisons on Trac to have a better SC points average at the end of the season than De Goey and to increase said average by 15%. Now, if the season ended after one round I would be in possession of that bottle. At the end of the season if he is averaging over 100 SC points I will be very happy even if he hasn't had a HUGE game and we will have another big contributor to the success of the team. We all have our criticisms of the team and the players but I refuse to direct any of that at a player who has taken obvious steps to improve their performance.
