I know a few older Demon diehards that take a little platter and a nice rug and a Thermos. Most years the Thermos is full of Cab Sav. But on those really cold winter games the Gluehwein will make an appearance. Anyone that doesn't know what that is, isn't a real skier.

Don't be mistaken, I talk to a lot of people who want to attend / watch our games and they are not D members. I think there is a bit of general excitement about watching our team at the moment that transcends the normal. I have a mate who was a rusted on Fitzroy member and lost the desire to follow a single team after the merger. He still goes to games but is not a fanatic. Point is; there are plenty of viewers out there that love watching the game and Dee's and Dog's are compelling viewing at the moment .

Don't underestimate the effect of belief on the entire group. That nasty little voice that would be in ANB's head and lots of others; "don't miss, don't miss, don't miss". Perhaps that voice now says "I don't miss" and it's augmented by Mark Williams positive reinforcement. I know some here will turn around and say "well why then do we miss so often". That's not the point, it's about mindset and belief and "the next time" I know I do. Transfer that to the whole group; "We do"

We usually go to the Waterfront Hotel before and after. It's near the ferry stop and then a short walk to the ground. It gets pretty crowded but they have a large outside area which is great when the weather's good, which it should be.

Just for the record I've seen ANB put himself in harms way numerous times and I wouldn't be mentioning any of this to the "D" Army where his mother Sharon is a regular. I take offence when posters on here question the courage of any of our players from the comfort of their keyboard. I don't think this is your best work. Think Langdon and Brayshaw on the wings and Spargo as a constant pressure small forward that can stick a tackle and kick a goal. Tomlinson as a tall mobile defender with great endurance. Even Fritsch, who was left out of the Prelim loss.
