Apparently ~30 posts in the Bigfooty Giants gameday thread, so…I guess they have a couple of bots exchanging ACKs every 5-10 minutees.

That lady from the ad will be swooning at work on Monday morning.

Geelong in the late 2000s was talent first, system second.

Every night game should start at 7:10

"We'll still beat your mob" — Every Essendon mate ever

Niall didn't say that. People on this site have a low interpretation skills at times. What he said was Richmond was system first, talent second whereas Melbourne is talent first and system second. The implication for me is that system is equally important between the two clubs but that the talent is higher at Melbourne and the players know it. This lead directly into his "cockiness" comment. People tend to think in terms of zero sum games, and this is a prime example IMO.

Too bad they can't play Essendon in finals.

I made this example on Twitter in response to a similar question: Imagine two sources. One leaks to the bookies and one leaks to a journalist. The bookies adjust the odds for profit and the journalist reports it, ensuring the public doesn’t get conned into making an unfavourable bet. Just one example. Journalists sniffing out leaks to get ahead in their careers by publishing what should be private/confidential information is not always morally on the up and up, but I'd prefer it to those leaks being gathered purely for profit.

The one thing that could stop Melbourne is our lack of attacking midfield depth. I don't even want to say it, but if Trac or Oliver go down (or have a down game), we need someone to be able to pick up where they left off and be damaging offensively. Sparrow has all the tools. Great signing.

100% should have been a 5 point game with 2 minutes left. Instead I jump on demonland and lose all interest in a heartbeat.

Richmond's signature last year was playing about 20 minutes of scary Richmond footy but not being able to sustain it for a whole game. Blues are still a chance.

Picketts making a habit of attempted speccies it seems this year.

I'm very glad I've stayed well out of this. I have seen enough cancel-culture behaviour in the last 5 years to know where this could have gone. I was not shocked at all when clips of Morris began popping up, and although I thought what Beveridge did was totally unprofessional, my view of the character of Tom Morris would not allow me to stick up for him…so I kept my mouth shut for once and it worked! Yay me.

McDonald will return forward next week and either Lever or Hibberd will come in. If both come in, then Bedford might miss/be named sub.

Supposed to be 26 degrees. So yes! The biggest variable is whether we're going to win or not. We are, so you'll be clapping heaps, which will warm you up. Long sleeves, with a blankie just in case is my go-to. I have a practical jacket too, which I wear everywhere more for the pockets than the warmth. So if you've got one of them then it'll probably do the job if the dogs get on top.

I could see that, and he'd be very versatile - he's played basically everywhere, though I wouldn't want him rucking with a mending knee.

Tomlinson looked very slow and not agile to me in the Carlton game, and he was one of the few where that wasn't an effort issue - his body is just not there (yet), despite his claims he's never been fitter. Smith is much more of a sure-thing at this stage, and I am no Smith fan.

“Sound the Alarm” The Goody Mic'd Up Documentary
Chook replied to Dee Zephyr's topic in Melbourne Demons
Ever since grand final night I've wanted to see Tommy's reaction on the siren, and after he knows the goal is goingthrough. For obvious reasons, we've never seen it (there may have been bigger things going on). We got both in that clip, and I was so rapt for him. -
This interviewer grows on you. He asks good questions, and the players seem to really open up to him. Nice work!
-
One of his co-commentators called Vescio a they and a she in the same sentence. I have an idea what that says about the whole situation, but I can't say it because I'll get cancelled.

If Carlton win tonight, it's 4 in a row for them. They're one of the form teams in the comp, and I'm glad the girls were able to get the win, even if it wasn't the big win we all hoped for to give us the best chance.

Bannan BOG by the straight.

I'm ready for that next stage of the journey, where (hopefully) the legend grows and teams begin to fear us visibly when we're playing them.
