NON-MFC: Round 3, 2022
The days of domination may be over (thanks Tim Lane), but like Michael Myers the Cats will seemingly never truly die. Scores level with 10 minutes left after the cats trailed by 30 at 3qt. Mental.

Playing for frees. Umps listen to a few blokes - Pendles is one of them.

NON-MFC: Round 3, 2022
I believe it was brought in after an early 2010s GF where Ablett Jr either did this, or had this done to him. It's called the Ablett rule, i.e., illegally blocking a player from getting a handball receive is a 50 rather than a free to the infringed player. Rarely enforced, and usually incorrectly awarded a free to the infringed player (not a 50 as per the rule). One actually happened to (I think Hunt) in the Dees game last night when Langdon tried to handpass to him but Hunt was impeded. Hunt got the free, but IMO it should have been 50 per the rule. It totally destroyed our momentum in that passage, which I believe is what the rule was brought in to prevent.

Thought you were gonna pot him, then thought you were gonna praise him, then saw you pot him. This post truly was a journey.

Why wouldn't you be pumping up the best looking bloke in the comp (according to Brayshaw anyway)?

GAMEDAY: AFLW Preliminary Final vs Brisbane Lions
I actually yelled out “what are you doing Lauren” as she started looking around. Bizarre choice and lucky it didn’t come back to cost us.

McNamara hits the post at half time. We are playing well below our best here.

I reckon it might be 60/40 in Brisbanes favour in the stands.

GAMEDAY: AFLW Preliminary Final vs Brisbane Lions
Gonna be some rough weather today by the look. Unfortunately I’m expecting a pretty poor crowd as a result. I’m gonna suffer through it though to be a part of history and see the girls scrub a mighty win in the wet.

POSTGAME: Rd 03 vs Essendon
Yeah I figured that was the reason. Extremely odd to see BT gushing over a Melbourne player regardless of why though.

POSTGAME: Rd 03 vs Essendon
Looking at Tommy walking off the ground I reckon he knows what's on the cards - possibly no Ben Brown next week, so he might have one more chance in the side but if Brown is in I reckon it's for McDonald.

POSTGAME: Rd 03 vs Essendon
Got there - a slightly un-Melbourne scoreline (oppo kicked 70 points rather than 50-60) but we got the Melbourne margin (20-30).

Call off goal of the year, you won't see one better than that from Langdon.

GAMEDAY: Rd 03 vs Essendon
I though the exact same thing. With lever in the side, that's an easy Lever intercept mark.

Umps don't all seem to know that rule.

Amazing tackle on Stringer by Sparrow there. People say he's the only one who can stop Trac at training. You'd need to be to stop Stringer on the burst out of a stoppage.

Harmes has been great this quarter.

GAMEDAY: Rd 03 vs Essendon
One of the bad habits I've seen us get into this year (practice matches and the 3 home and away matches) is what I'm calling "4th quarter GF mode" where we start lairising and not treating our opponents with respect in the contest. Petracca has no right to think he can bullock out of every single contest, for example. Add to that Kozzie and Spargo are giving us absolutely nothing, as are a few others, and no wonder we played a terrible quarter. Our structures and our rock solid backline (lead by May, who got mad at Tomlinson for punching the ball out rather than marking it, to give you an idea of the spot-on headspace he is in) is still top notch, but our individuals are making stupid decisions borne out of ego or plain poor form I reckon.

Our level this quarter has dropped about 5 notches. We always seem to play a terrible quarter in home and away games. Sparrow goes BANG!

I love ya Trac but it's no crime to just get rid of it quickly sometimes.
