  1. Rested. There's no need for him to mosey on down to Tasmania to beat the Roos by a lot.
  2. Was worried you had had a falling out or something. I'm glad nothing more sinister than gainful employment is the culprit.
  3. You're thinking of the old Melbourne. We don't talk about that Melbourne anymore.
  4. Me and my entire generation of fellow Melbourne supporters are probably more scarred by that month of football than any other in our lifetimes. I know I was for a long time. This year might wipe it away.
  5. We can go top if we draw! Here's hoping.
  6. I remember exactly what I did that day too. I played kick to kick with myself in the back yard until the sun set, dreaming of what was to come. I had to wait longer than I thought I would that evening..
  7. Boy, Lynch has some mental demons in front of goal. Couldn't happen to a better bloke.
  8. Tigers look to be spent after last week. I know it's early and you would've written Melbourne off as a neutral at this point last week, but this is threatening to be a smashing.
  9. Lynch is getting ample opportunities but can't take advantage. Credit to Tomlinson for not even giving him a look in last week.
  10. Probably should've got into third or fourth given he's trying to break into a premiership threat AFL side. Weid was good, but showed absolutely none of the intensity required for AFL level.
  11. We threw in a clause that lets him play backyard basketball as much as he wants in the offseason.
  12. Brown is untried with Melbourne clearly. He has runs on the board at AFL level, which puts him ahead of Wiedeman.
  13. Brayshaw won't shift forward. He's a key defensive player for us. I'd go so far as to say he'd be keeping McDonald out of the wing position because of how well he plays the defensive winger role for us. Wied just can't come in while McDonald is playing so well and Brown is untried at this level. Brown is ahead of him on runs on the board, so we have to try Brown first. One of Wiedeman, Brown or McDonald will have to be at Casey each week, and McDonald is the one the other two will have to force out.
  14. As Anthony Hudson would say… HOWE...COULD WE DO THAT!?!?!
  15. Wasn't David King a pompous arrogant argumentative expletive on tonight's episode. Absolutely monopolised his entire segment to the point even Robbo called him out on it (the other guest, Jordan Lewis, barely got 2 sentences in).
  16. Good call. Nathan Jones' body being what it is, it ain't gonna let him play 25 games this year, and he's damn well playing in the last one if we can get him up for it and he's still good enough (and we're there).
  17. Multiple times this week I have found myself thinking of Melbourne's disgustingly good defence and have legitimately gotten butterflies in my stomach in doing so - it's just that awesome. Feeling very good about being a Dees supporter right now.
  18. I just like watching Melbourne win. The rest is fugazi.
  19. ~400 players take the field each week. A bit of perspective please. The danger is in repeated concussions thoughout a career.
  20. That was great. I'd be very interested to know what Jones' role is, because whatever it is, it's not "swap with Hibberd when he follows Dusty down the ground."
  21. Not enough random quotation of numbers in this poem. Let's fix it shall we? And in my wild erratic fancy A vision came to me of Hannan, who Upon a frenzied winter eve Came bounding up the wing. And "Fifty, forty, twenty, fifteen." The Bristle shouted on the air "Oh what a run, oh what a run" We shouted in the stands. But gone now. He's gone now. I wish he was still a Demon. So: For demons gone and demons now Let's get back there again.
  22. I can see Essendon going on a wild run that sneaks them into the 8.
  23. Love for one another, and an understanding that it doesn't "just happen." Also, their backline sucks.
  24. I can't see how the Tassie government lets North in, unless absolutely everyone coming (players and staff) have returned a negative test. If they do all return a negative test, I could still see them denying entry simply to show they're in charge not the AFL or anyone else.
  25. I'd be very surprised if Wiedeman is still at Melbourne next year if he can't somehow break into the side.
