  1. I hope Williams stays, and I think he is done with senior coaching. I hope Yze goes, because he deserves a crack at it.

It's crazy watching every other game (even top 4 clashes) going, yeah, we've got both these teams covered no worries.

As an educated football analyst, what is this stat a symptom of @binman?

I'll be very interested to see how the Dogs go this afternoon/evening. If they go back to pantsing the opposition and winning by 10 goals of free flowing hollywood handball, I'll think less of them than if they're challenged and can actually grind out a victory when it's not all going their way.

Harris Andrews took plenty of marks where Wied was in the contest or in the general vicinity.

Oh god someone needs to do a youtube cut up of this.

Jamie Elliot is such a good player. I was hoping so much for him to come to Melbourne. Imagine us with him running around out there in our forward line.

1 Brisbane Winning this game makes us the undisputed champs so far this year. Say no more 2 Richmond The big "this is real" moment 3 Dogs Knocking off the ladder leaders and taking their place 4 Sydney Our closest victory 5 Hawthorn A come from behind win is a come from behind win, and our closest to a smashing at the end 6 Geelong Defeating last year's GF team is great, but it wasn't their best side 7 GWS A good medium win 8 Carlton Got on top against a dangerous side we should beat, and never looked like losing 9 North Woke up after a red eye flight and played a half of footy to get the win 10 Saints Coming back after going 20 points down in the 2nd was the first time I thought "OK, there's something different here", but it turns out the Saints suck so that takes a bit out of it 11 Freo A win is a win is a win 12 Adelaide A loss is a loss is a loss. We're still on track for the best statistical season ever if this is our only loss though, so there's that.30
  9. OUT: Wiedeman, Melksham IN: Brown, Langdon I would be perfectly OK with no change to our forward line too by the way. Langdon's the only certainty and no way we drop Sparrow. Hunt might be injured, so I could see that being the change.
  10. Doesn’t rate or even mention Tom McDonald. Clearly don’t know football.
  11. I rewatched the game last night and Sam was much better than I remembered. I think his key issues are lack of intensity and putting too much pressure on himself to perform. The two seem paradoxical, but they’re not. When he attacks everything and everyone with more ferocity he will stop thinking about himself and how well he “has to” perform. Once he does that, he’ll perform.

  13. Should be outlawed imo, but until it is, slather the man head to toe in it for all I care.
  14. Cue the NT premier waking up with Horse Longmire's head in his bed. There's no note, but we all know what it means: "This is what happens when you try to make Melbourne play in Sydney."
  15. Watching that segment I thought…gee I know who the more charismatic coach is. But then again I've been on enough bad zoom calls to know you can't trust the terrible lighting and audio quality. Why did Chris Fagan look like he had a direct HD feed to the studio, while David Teague looked like he was standing in some Hyundai-sponsored underground bunker with 2 coconuts for a camera and chewy and tinfoil for an aerial?
  16. St Kilda could go another 50 years and never assemble a better side then they did in 2009, and still they didn’t win a flag. Premierships are damn hard to win. You’ve just got to grab them when you have the chance because they won’t lay down for the taking.

Looks like that loss to Adelaide wasn't so bad - Adelaide will knock a hell of a lot of teams over in the back half of the season if they keep playing like this.
  18. Funniest post I've read in a while.

Why make 2 changes when you can just make 1?
  20. 6 - Oliver 5 - Harmes 4 - Brayshaw 3 - Lever 2 - Rivers 1 - Spargo
  21. Not convinced by the Wied, but no changes. #PositiveLingers
  22. Wieds is making a contest I'll give him that, but he is not best 22 at the moment. We are winning games off tremendous workrate and defensive pressure (and Tom McDonald). Let's just bite the bullet and put Wiedeman and Brown at Casey until they can do what Tom can do.
  23. Would’ve liked to see us go back to what made us successful and drop Wiedeman.
  24. If we give a rats about this loss by then, it'll mean we're 20-1 or very close to it and by definition there will be a hell of a lot more on our minds at that point in time.
  25. Right now it's tempting to just say "I'll be very happy to get the best we can get from Wied in a trade" and be done with it.; however neither McDonald nor Brown are spring chickens and we've got no one coming up under them other than the Wied reailly. We all have loser's goggles on big time right now, but certainly Brown comes in for Wied next week and Wiedeman will need to do some great stuff in the VFL to get another look in for a while, injuries pending.
