  1. Started to dominate in that second quarter. Could very well have been another 4 goals up. Torched about 3 gimme goal opportunities.
  2. Melksham very lucky that entry turned out as a goal.
  3. Brown and McDonald starting to work well together in the space of the G. Loving it.
  4. 2 arsey swans goals from blind Melbourne handballs in the last line of defence. But we have to start winning it in the centre or we won't win this match. McDonald, Hibberd, May, Oliver, Langdon, Jackson all good this quarter. The rest have a long way to go.
  5. The Western Bulldogs couldn't beat the Tigers but Melbourne and Geelong could. Probably doesn't say a great deal of positive things about their finals footy brand.
  6. Serious question: Richmond used to be able to apply manic pressure for longer than 15 minutes per game before this year right? I'm not just imagining that surely?
  7. Haven't seen it in about 8 months.
  8. Dees have now beaten no one again because we beat Geelong when Cameron and Higgins were out and we beat Richmond who are clearly incapable of a full game of Tiger pressure anymore.
  9. Would kill to have him in a Melbourne jumper.
  10. Shades of Melbourne vs Richmond in that 1st quarter. Richmond's pressure vs us felt like it dropped off late in the 1st and never quite came back. It doesn't seem to have dropped off yet, and the cats haven't composed themselves like Melbourne did. Very interesting case study into what the tigers have learned and whether the cats have bothered to learn...
  11. Melksham's job should be to get the ball, then wheel and hit Ben Brown on the anywhere from waist to 3 feet above his head. If he does that even 2-3 times a week he's done the job IMO.
  12. I’d be content to be the worst premiers of all time.
  13. Where is K. Pickett? Outrageous that he's not in the side!
  14. Pretty sure he didn't mean "scream out each dollar in fear".
  15. Not only that, but do we get the most benefit out of him and our other players if he is. I think …. Tom McDonald the lockdown defender and Wiedeman/Brown up forward is better than Harrison Petty the lockdown defender and any 1 or 2 (please god not 3) of Brown/McDonald/Wiedeman up forward
  16. https://www.foxsports.com.au/afl/afl-news-2021-christian-petracca-contract-melbourne-free-agent-new-deal-net-worth-how-much-money/news-story/916d148703bf5e714f4db9911e2666aa "Petracca was committed to staying on a long-term arrangement and did not want to eek out every last dollar from Melbourne to the detriment of his teammates."
  17. There is absolutely no way McDonald and Wiedeman are both at Melbourne next year unless McDonald re-reinvents himself in defence or Melbourne wins the premiership and everyone decides to stay on board for the ride. Wied is gone at end of year in any other world.
  18. One of the rare people with good taste who can't stand Whateley too. Very nice.

Have to say the much hoped-for and unexpected Fritta freedom has taken the edge off, and I'm feeling a lot better about the world now.
  20. I feel pre-emptively f@#$%ked off all over again. Hoping against hope he gets off as I think he should.
  21. Five years of development since then have surely improved his game. I never thought he's be a 50 goal a year forward in 2016 either. He's just a good football player, whether that be back or forward. We need him back more than we need him forward right now, and it's not a decision we have to stick with forever; we should at least see it through until proven otherwise because to put it simply I trust Tom McDonald in a Melbourne jumper way more than I trust Harrison Petty in a Melbourne jumper at this stage.

I just can't bring myself to be truly happy in the same week as Viney is injured and Tomlinson's soul got stepped on and thrown in the garbage by the cruel uncaring footy gods.
  23. Wonder how much he had to cut out for brevity. Even Supermercado's blog posts are war and peace. I still have the Great Deepression on my shelf ready to read after that marvellous Premiership I hear all the other teams' supporters talking about. I couldn't bear revisiting it until we've definitively put it all behind us however.
  24. Nic Naitanui except he gets possessions around the ground? I’d like to see that.
