One more player to follow Brock out the door!
rpfc replied to Dee tention's topic in Melbourne Demons
This makes me feel better. Well done, Schwabby and the FD. -
NOISE. Being critical of a team that has won 12 games out of 66 is the LEAST of our concerns.

It's this that people don't understand. When the club says 'success' they mean a September WIN to end the season. Some on here think that 'success' is making the finals and getting beaten by Freo... Making the finals next year is a little harder, winning the flag in 5 years time is a little easier.

Coach indicted on a rumour. Great stuff fellas. It is my experience that footy players only like honesty from their coach if it is positive. Any grumblings from the playing group don't make me want to fire the coach, they make me want to tell Jim to fire a rocket at them.

As a ruckman, he is great wingman. Move him on.
-
Richo-like wingman please.

Every single player will leave the club inside 15 years I reckon... Absolute disgrace. Brock has gone. The rest is rumour, innuendo, and people with agendas. My club is doing OK for a team that has won 12 games out of 66 and has finished 14th, 16th, and 16th.

Nah, looking more at this for And thinking this when thinking of Or for the person who wants to stay depressed, I give you Peace.

Boyz II Men - "I'm sexually attracted to one of the members of my band"? Has a good rythym. And a double entendre...

Should we trade pick 11? What happens if the draft is a dud?
rpfc replied to shimmo's topic in Melbourne Demons
This place would melt down if it weren't for the few seconds of levity the villagers get from our pointless and inane rantings. It's a public service, really. -
I'm pretty sure that statement was number 4 on the "Don't Do" list in 'How To Win Friends And Impress People'... You just gone down a rung 45HG16...

Should we trade pick 11? What happens if the draft is a dud?
rpfc replied to shimmo's topic in Melbourne Demons
Nah, they shed their skins pretty readily, and then they become a hazard. Blueberries are just there, no mess, no fuss. Bananas are high maintenance. In it for themselves. Give him to a Chinese person to fry and it might change the equation. But without the Chinese person thrown in - no dice. -
It might be an M. Night twist where we find out it was the trees that traded McLean and wanted to trade Davey but Mark Wahlberg stepped in and 'acted' his way out of it. Real shame... Well, at least he doesn't rap anymore...

Should we trade pick 11? What happens if the draft is a dud?
rpfc replied to shimmo's topic in Melbourne Demons
Steering clear of all vegetables, would be a good start. Taters are expensive with the drought and all. Although, I am partial to Blueberries. Not in season though. They'll be hothouse blueberries. Still worth it. McLean for hothouse blueberries. I can't help but feel I have gone off-track... -
He posted it with a certainty, and with allusions to something greater... As all good stortytellers do... I tell you what, if Davey goes, we will be living out a Stephen King novel...

Should we trade pick 11? What happens if the draft is a dud?
rpfc replied to shimmo's topic in Melbourne Demons
What happens if the kid we take at 11 is a dud? We get back in the DeLorean, go back in time, and not make this trade... Pretty simple really. Think outside the box, people. Forget Jack Watts, I need 1.21 Giga Watts... I wonder if they're related? -
Fremantle may have a history of doing this but it has to end at some stage. They won't do that trade.
-
Yeah, you're a hero. BTW, who on here hasn't flirted with the idea of trading McLean... The hand wringing is all about Davey.

Dafatcat had this news before anyone, and alluded to Davey being another who wanted out. This poster then went on to say that the 'game plan' of DB was to blame (who hasn't heard that old chestnut - I think m064 and Mono ran through that one in 2008), and the treatment of CJ had the players up-in-arms. I don't know whether dafatcat knows a player, or an agent but this smells of an agenda. And for those who have forgotten what happened with CJ - He rocked up to training in his MFC garb taking part in the drills after making the decision to quit the club. The FD got wind of the fact that the decision was made and DB told him to eff off if he didn't want to be at the club anymore. Tactless for sure, but if you have decided to leave an organisation you should inform your employers immediately and not act as if nothing had changed by attending meetings with colleagues you do not want to work with anymore.

It's a good deal, but I don't like surprises like this. The TJ deal was rumoured for a week before that was done, this trade was agreed (in the Principal's office) pretty quick. Good for midfield balance. We Better [censored]!ng Keep Davey Though... WBFKDT.

Considering I have a go at those with bad grammar... Can't spell. I'll fix it, so most are none the wiser... Except for this post. Which I will later delete. Cunning.

You make a compelling case, and I often wonder whether Maric, Blease, Scully, Trengove, and Bennell will force out one or more of McLean, Moloney, and Jones. If I was to trade, after 2008, one of those three it would have been Jones. If I was to trade now, it would be McLean. However, I just don't see the need to do that trade this year. It's a widely known fact that McLean had an interrupted preseason and dealt with a few injury issues during the season. If offered Pick 11 I would ask BP if there was a precocious talent still available. Given the eligibility changes, BP may say that the talent on offer falls away before pick 11. If BP says 'no', then I would continue on and reassess after 2010. After all, McLean may still have injury issues, Moloney might have more problems with OP, or Jones might digress. If they all play OK in 2010, and we still feel the team is not balanced - well, there will GC17 willing to throw picks and big bucks around to entice clubs and players to move on.
-
Might not be wrong on a couple but Spencer, Cheney, Sylvia, Davey, Jamar, McLean, Maric, Batram, McNamara, and Miller are OOC. Jurrah may be on a one year deal too.
-
The best thing about Frawley is that he is a 'gorilla-tamer' with a desire to be involved in the counter-attack. He won't sit back like Presti and allow his team to attack a man short, he will take players on give a handball in traffic, or take one under pressure run 20m and kick it 50m. Will be even better when we can restrict the amount of ball he sees.
-
Miller hasn't come on, will he in 2010? I don't know. But if those at the club think that he cannot develop into that forward that has become is only attainable option they should cut ties. Depth is overrated. If Watts, Jurrah, and Bate are out (I have no idea why you mentioned Newton) we will struggle. You can't replace your best players. As an aside, I hope you are not using the rare appearances of Jamar, Meesen or Spencer, or their deficiencies as a scapegoat for our midfield. We have an ordinary (and young) midfield. They have trouble getting the ball, tracking those that get the ball, and they have all sorts of trouble kicking the ball properly to the forward line.
