MFC Annual General Meeting tonight 20/2/2023 at 6:30pm
You do realise every time you create your own straw man argument like what you have done with the use of that percentage - you lose people? So 54.3% of the members who bothered to vote rejected the resolution - why? What do you intimate on their motives by your argument above? The reaction of the board is to move on which is reflective of where the vast majority of their members were throughout this process. Time to do an Elsa.

Kozzy Pickett Re-Signs for 4 Years
Why can’t he? Angus decided late. We have good players now that have 10 clubs in their ears at all times - we have to get used to that.

How the Demons Hope to Bounce Back
Ta, Binman. I seriously hated being right. I just can’t see us being so inert next season so I hope it is over. And I hope it was health related and the FD was fixing bandaids so to speak.

Rival clubs fume at Collingwood’s hold on MCG seats
‘Founding tenant’… Imagine the look of MFC people when the ‘founding tenant’ announced itself… Collingwood going for a weekend away “I claim this B&B as the founding tenant!” Collingwood arriving in Jan 26, 1788 in Botany Bay “I claim this land as the founding tenant!” Oooh, see what I did there…

How the Demons Hope to Bounce Back
I will be looking at stats around defensive pressure and how easily other teams take it out of our forward line. It was an early indicator that we didn’t have it together last year where we slipped from the top 4 for forward pressure in 2021 to the bottom 4 in 2022. And the way we entered the forward line into the near side pocket was designed to mitigate that problem as it was harder for the opposition to transition out of the populated area. Let’s hope we back ourselves more this year to kick to lead and kick fat side to space.

Daisy's commentary
So she is doing Thursdays? Makes sense, C7 don’t listen to any fans - good, bad, indifferent. The hate for her is grounded in misogyny (some literally say that women shouldn’t be in the box, or that they hate her ‘voice’) and I know that possibly makes me a ‘woke feminist’ but it’s a fact - just own it. I will.

2023 Member Replacement Game
@FearTheBeardfair enough, I was pointing my rage in the wrong direction. Just one of my bugbears. We need to get to the footy to watch this team.

2023 Member Replacement Game
So now we are complaining about having away games at the G against big clubs because we can’t get in for free? Sorry to pick on you but I can’t stand this mindset - all we do is look for crowd stats and favourable comparisons to make ourselves feel better. We have generational teams in both AFL and AFLW and exceptionalism should be expected from fans too in this period. But we won’t. We just pick and choose don’t we. Plenty of excuses about…

MFC Annual General Meeting tonight 20/2/2023 at 6:30pm
A myth? We got 6k to an AFLW Preliminary Final at the G. At the effing G! Probably would have got more at Casey. So you can leave that BS before heading down the highway…

MFC Annual General Meeting tonight 20/2/2023 at 6:30pm
I don’t care about having ONE training base, I don’t care about co-location of admin staff with the FD, and I reject the notion of this facility being a ‘home’ for the club - it will always be the G. It is not defence of the board, only a push back of an agitating group’s self-important judgement of this boards record. Frankly, the board should come out and say we are at Casey as our ‘training base’. Turn it into a Peninsula Paradise similar to what Geelong have and just be done with it.

MFC Annual General Meeting tonight 20/2/2023 at 6:30pm
Hang on a second - we go to Caulfield or wherever - is that our ‘home’ is it the G? This is where we ties ourselves in knots about what exactly we are looking for. I thought we needed elite training facilities, forgive me for not being sentimental to a literal fault.

MFC Annual General Meeting tonight 20/2/2023 at 6:30pm
Because of the antiquated notion that we have a divine right to be located near the G, and that admin and FD should be co-located for reasons that were relevant in 2004. @rjaytour dismissiveness of our facilities is overdone. Casey has had money poured in and will continue to have money thrown at it. AAMI is the inner city presence that is oh so important. What do we lack exactly?

How the Demons Hope to Bounce Back
Why should Richardson lie to the kid? He’s up against two proven Premiership players in TMac and Brown. If they are fit and in form - JVR will struggle to get in the 22. Grundy, Gawn, Brown, TMac, and Fritsch - that’s a number of players to fit in the near side pocket for the Demon Bomb of Nothingness…

Kozzy Pickett Re-Signs for 4 Years
If he wants out, or is leaning out, the circus comes. What is the incentive to push for a public decision? Because that is the only thing that will disperse the circus. I am all for coming to an agreement at some point if he is to go but ultimatums solve nothing and probably push him out. At some point we have to get comfortable with good players being wanted by other clubs if we are continue to be a good team.

Kozzy Pickett Re-Signs for 4 Years
The Bros on the Deebrief podcast criticised our stance of ‘giving Kozzie all the time he needs’ to make a decision and to push for a signature now; tacitly pushing for an ultimatum on the eve of the season. Do people actually think that is a good thing to do?! Hands up who is that dim, to think that would be good for him this season or that it would keep him around long term? Bizarre.

Training Ground?
Yes, that would be a tactic toward achieving an action to realise a tenet of the strategy. But there are no promises in the complicated world of building, capital works, approvals, and political influence - just like there are no promises in the elite and cut throat world of AFL and yet we did realise the lofty promise of the strategy with flags in the men’s game and women’s game. Truly remarkable results from this board.
