Do you live in Campbelltown or something?

What a waste of talent. He's a midfielder.

This post has: - an extremely negative description with a colourful metaphor; - a rhetorical question containing a putdown of a team after two games and ignoring last year completely; - a dismissive notion of the clubs planning for 2012; - another rhetorical question surrounding someone who has coached for two games. Honestly, why do you still post? You're not happy. Just end it. Go off to GWS Land. We know you're going. You're not happy here and at the Demonland Membership stall you didn't smile, so I can tell you're off...

Move the goalposts so even if we do well, we won't have done well enough... Classic Melbourne supporter behaviour...
-
Of course you do...

So life is you opening up Microsoft Outlook and inputting data?

Not interested in Scoreboard Sunday. Only Flag-unveiling Friday. Note 1: I'm assuning the first round of 2015 is a Friday night home game. Note 2: I'm assuming we win the flag in 2014. Note 3: Please realise I am taking a dig out of those that are placing so much importance in what happens in 2011...

Successful system? Do you mean better team, better performance, or better teammates? Or removal of Bailey and/or his structures and gameplan?
-
A tad misleading. Carlton were poor before 2007. They are on a different 'clock.' And would 'consistency' be the thing that is 'fundamentally lacking in our consistency'?

Excellent points Bhima. I would say we are good at capitalising on turnovers in defence, and we don't know about the forward line (hasn't been there), but we struggle to get first hands on it in the middle. Redleg is right in that we need that target, but before the target you need your midfield to get the pill. And get the pill as opposed to the opposition getting the pill (uncontested ball - read: man up, occupy space). The amount of uncontested ball the Hawks had is why I say the players get into lazy habits or retreat into their shell. But we really need this midfield developed: Scully, Trengove, McKenzie, Gysberts, Sylvia, and Grimes (that's my opinion the last one). Unfortunately we have to wait for that midfield to be fit, developed, and firing.

You always have around that figure that don't sign up. That doesn't answer your question, but it is an historical fact.

This topic doesn't deserve its own thread. Bailey is fine on the bench.

I say flag winning sides are moulded by coaches/FDs over a long period of time. Collingwood had a decade of Malthouse before he got them there. I was about to say Ross Lyon... Still applies. Thompson is well known case. I would say that, sure, good coaches can improve adequate sides, but flag winning coaches mould a list to play the way they want them to. Personnel to suit the plan not a plan to suit the personnel.

I'm sorry. I thought you were being dismissive and rhetorical and would prefer I didn't. I'll address all your points from here on. Oh, I'd love to hear of what else I have stolen off you... And I was trying to be satirically ironic; only the most egotistical would claim plagiarism. Yes, yes, you have been anal about the performances of Aaron Davey. Check. And we all remember the rants about Daniher. Check. Moving into the modern day... Of course, but for patches in 08 and 09 and for a great deal of 2010 I saw a very bold, exciting gameplan that was well executed. In the midst of that were some pathetic performances. All involved are responsible but, as you intimated you agree with, Melbourne supporters are too forgiving of the players that shirk contests, don't run hard enough, and collapse into a shell of their own shattered confidence. I am not letting Bailey off the hook, but I think you know that... I want to see some evidence of the "continued deplorable trend" of doom that you can divine... Our progress has been slow but evident. We are in trouble in the midfield - I know it, you know it, Scotty West presumably should know it... Such a pathetic display in a quarter has plenty of blame to share around - the players don't get enough. And our mid-age range players are soft, lazy, or plain not good enough, which you have posted for years. So we wait for real leaders to emerge. And hopefully, we can divine whether Bailey is a decent coach when he has a decent set of players running around for him, and don't go to water against good teams so easily.

Just have a look at the stats people... I thought we (tacitly) agreed that we would still have games (or quarters) like the one on the weekend? I don't give me this "we shouldn't accept that, rpfc rah rah" because I agree with you - but it still doesn't mean we are not going to have these games where our senior players flounder and our young players go to water. 19 months ago we won our second wooden spoon in a row. And we all said "it's a long road from here" but we are impatient and unforgiving. I'm pretty sure they will bounce back this Sunday.

Scully says that he'll be back round 6. I don't think so
rpfc replied to DEELIRIOUS's topic in Melbourne Demons
No, the internet is obviously awesome for badgering and blabbing about badgering 19 year olds about their future. I guess it does pay to smile more. Tom should probably work on his fake smile - try and keep the rumourmongers at bay. -
19 months ago we were the worst team in the league, for the second straight year...
-
I don't know what has happened to you recently, but you have become unreadable at times... Bailey cops all the flak, I want to know where Brad and Aaron and Jared and Colin and Nathan and Brent are when we go into our shells and get bullied into playing 'safe' football - I will tell you where they are - they are the ones going into their shells! Or letting their opposite number distract them. And, if you think that Bailey is lauded for anything other than his input into list management then you are being disingenuous.
-
Occasionally I wish we would get on here and, rather than eat Bailey alive, chow down on Green, Moloney, Jones, Rivers, Sylvia, Jamar, and Davey and their 'leadership skills.' 20 scoring shots in a qtr isn't a badly coached team - it's a team that is lazy and isn't led well on he field.
-
Personally attack him? Sook? Champ? Ugh.

rpfc replied to DEELIRIOUS's topic in Melbourne Demons
I have put up with an enormous amount of nonsense in similar posts to this one. You started a post because Tom had a frown on his face... He's injured. Let the kid be [censored] off and stop judging every-[censored]-thing he does. -
Scully says that he'll be back round 6. I don't think so
rpfc replied to DEELIRIOUS's topic in Melbourne Demons
It's my experience that when footy players are injured they are generally unhappy - especially when he is 19 and gets idiot supporters constantly questioning everything about him, and everything he does, as if it were some sign of his intentions. -
Excuses? When do reasons become excuses? Or vice-versa? When does expectation come back to reality? Probably about 3 quarter time... Hey, about 19 months ago we won our second wooden spoon in a row. Why aren't we good yet, Daddy?

Or a poster came on here and told them to do an action they have never done before and have no idea of its function. I reiterate my opposition to liberal use the veto. Those that have done this before need to take a back seat and let everyone find their feet, if you don't - your fear of having half of us lose interest in this game will be a self-fulfilling prophecy...

I am a Melbourne supporter that has just seen my team concede 75 Inside 50s but I think they can go on a 5 game winning streak. Er.
