  1. Yeah, we all have our moments, but I try to keep my remarks that, apparently, I have to yell out to pithy, funny remarks rahter than attacks. Just like here...
  2. Moving away from the fact that you obviously do believe it, this logic is flawed. If he says he will stay, he immediately takes $100k off his contract at least. He is leaving it to his management and we will talk to them in due course in the post-CBA landscape.

I would prefer to keep the forward line: Gawn/Martin, Green, Jurrah Jetta, Howe, Watts They all contribute to the press (when they attempt it) very well. Except Gawn... If you have Gawn or Jamar or Martin down there then Bate becomes a liability with his 'continental drift' like movement.
  4. Wouldn't have said that last week... The guy will play if fit. Batram would be in the first dozen picked if the MC was picking their best 22.

Because he can't get into a rough trot... The guy can play good footy, but he steps up and he can't step up. His hands aren't great at the minute, and he lacks confidence. And he can be exploited the other way, unlike Howe who looks like he has a bit of toe on him. Loved Bate a couple of years ago, but he hasn't come on. And I was going to mention the other 192cm forward we have down at Casey but the less said about him the better...
  6. lol Only Hannabal could take a position that is the reasonable, if more eloquent, reflection of what the majority of Demonland is thinking and phrase his position as the brave view of the suppressed minority. Damn the apologists!! Save the Empire!!
  7. Kid's a mid. But I don't think he will cut it to be in our midfield.
  8. Couldn't agree more. Rivers being freed up is great if Garland is playing on the FB/CHB but not an out of form Warnock. May aswell play a kid.
  9. Nicholson has been the sub two weeks in a row so he might have a game at Casey. Batram is one of the first picked for the role he plays. If he is fit, you're going to have to find a place for him.
  10. Is neat and tidy, is ferocious and a great tackler. Prime small forward material. There's a place for him if the planets align and he keeps improving.
  11. Very interesting points. The last one is a pearler: if we can get Malthouse then Bailey has a higher threshold to get a contract (probably an unreachable one), but if Roos and Malthouse say 'no' then suddenly the threshold is easier for Bailey to get to.
  12. It's amazing how we can go one extreme to the other...
  13. This has been mentioned a bit in the media but they say "a Melbourne official." I thought it was Royal and it was a grab around the waist rev up from what I could see. Whatever the intention, I don't think you can read as much as you read into that.
  14. I am talking about the players that have played and their effort. Davey, Moloney, Green, Rivers, and Sylvia have not been consistent in their effort this year (not to mention other 'senior' players - Bate, Dunn, Warnock, and Newton). Moloney may have 12 brownlow votes to his name at this stage but he still has 15 possession games. Injuries take their toll, but we still had the most inexperienced side EVER last week and put in a great effort. Injuries don't excuse effort.
  15. Only if Coll, Geel, and Haw soak up all the wins.
  16. This is my major concern with Bailey as well (that and his/mahoney's inability to get their idiot forwards to do a decent press), but it is difficult to say whether it is his inability to instil a desire for consistency in the group or whether it is the combination of having weak-minded, frontrunning, NQR senior players and kids dominating the team over his journey as a coach. We will see over the next three months as the line-up settles and has more class and leadership (from Scully, Trengove, Frawley, McKenzie, et al stepping up).
  17. Don't know where your head is at, DC... I was saying I get a 'happy' feeling rather than shivers when I think of our midfield in a few years time.

I agree, long way to go. But in the short time I have seen him play I always thought he lacked confidence. Which leads to my counterintuitive satisfaction at the Ryder 'take-on.' He didn't paddle the ball or flinch, and he thought he could run through a ruckman, albeit a soft one (no offence to Bombers fans who have said worse about young Demons I might add...). I enjoyed the simple arrogance of it.
  19. Without being crass, my body reacted differently...
  20. I struggle to see how Bailey was inappropriate? He didn't give an ultimatum, he just mentioned his belief that Tom will stay - therefore ending any follow-up questions. Perfect response on a topic with many landmines. Hopefully, the PA will tone it down and get a CBA done.
  21. That would be the joke... If Bruce's form from Round 12 last year is irrelevant, so is Petterd's.
  22. Yeah, I wondered what happened. And the Dogs don't know what they are doing. They have one ruck and it's Minson... Bring back Hudson!!
  23. Cam Bruce was good too...
  24. Sorry, champ.
  25. I wouldn't think that at all. Some players cannot play forward.
