You can't do that anymore. The three sub rule means that we will face teams who will rotate runners off the bench. We cannot afford to have Jamar slow us down. I agree that he isn't a great forward but all he has to do is sit in the square behind Clark and compete - bring the ball to ground. That doesn't seem too arduous.

Still one of the best tap rucks out there. I see a transition to Gawn in a few years time as first ruck but that should take care of itself hopefully. I don't want to see a 23 year old Gawn leave because a 32 year old Jamar is keeping him out of the side. But, on the other hand, a 32 year old Jamar would be handy when we are challenging... We'll see how his body holds up.

Maybe in a few years time. But he cannot do it now, Stefan is far better at the role than Max. I don't know if Max would even be suited to the back-up role. Certainly not until he builds up his frame and his ability to take a mark and kick a goal. Martin may not be that much further ahead in that regard but his far more mobile and is like another mid when the ball hits the ground.

Jurrah, Watts, and Howe are not exactly the prototype players for their height. Jurrah should easily slip into a chest-to-the-goal player and be very effective. He should walk a lot smaller with Clark there... Howe has had little trouble with the defensive stuff and has a great footy brain. I understand where you are coming from - I would have Sylvia slip forward and allow Watts and Howe to do the heavy lifting up the ground. I find it sucha waste when Sylvia is taking lead-up marks 75m out. That kick should go to Watts or Howe and Colin should be streaming into the forward line from the midfield at the fall of the ball from the kick from Watts or Howe. I think too much about this stuff... I'm just getting ready for next year at my own team with a similar structure to this.

And back in the real world...

I thought they were included but I could be wrong. The Tassie Hawks get those 4 game Tassie members as full members I believe...
-
He is there. He should also be doing more than be a FP. If he is to do, what Brent Moloney should he should do - win a Bluey, he is going to have to get the job done in the middle. Colin Sylvia can be so much more than a FP. If that is all he can excel at than what a waste of talent he will be.

I guess the definitive view is that Clark will be a key forward. And only a key forward. With that in mind - there is no need to try and turn Martin back into a defender. He's a back-up ruckman and a part time 'bring the ball to ground' forward in the square.

You are going to get yourself banned again...

lol The worst way possible. Well, one of them at least. Liked the odd 'ice' bath after games... Still, if he can play footy and can keep himself right - he's a chance.

That FP-FF-FP HFF-CHF-HFF shape is living in past man, contemporise! Martin Jurrah Green Clark Howe Watts Clark player a deep CHF/high FF role with the resting ruckman in the square and Jurrah and Green around them. Small forward/midfielder rotating through Sylvia/Trengove. Howe and Watts are targets up the ground so that Clark doesn't have to venture far outside the 50. Petterd rotating through from midfield/bench.

Great story. I would like to know more about the Bond interruption... Well done to all involved for 'wasting their time' on a player 'we are never going to get.' Sometimes its good to try and bat above your average. Occasionally, you do well.

If I want to know the capital city of Paraguay, I will look up Wikipedia. If I want to judge the 2010 season and future prospects of Aaron Davey I will stick with own views, my mates, and selected posters on Demonland.

Stop baiting, WYL. And I sure am hopeful we can pay for this growth... But that is just the syndrome talking.
-
You are quoting Wikipedia? lol That was probably written by someone on here... The guy had a good 2010. And an awful 2011, but he can bounce back.
-
Don't know if he is 'no chance' - we still have one deletion to make to be eligible for the draft. Clubs will continue to make list changes during the next month.

I think the fawning comes from the fact this fine young fella is 19 and 206cm and at that age the fans are not thinking of what they can do, but what they might do. He won't play regularly for a few years yet, probably the same amount of time Jamar has left... I hope we can keep him because he could be a Sandilands like weapon when he is 22/23.

Yoda would not revise history like this. I have been a massive critic of Aaron Davey this year but people are not entitled to their own facts. In Aaron's 2009 Bluey winning year he averaged 23 touches. The next year he averaged 19 touches, had 10 Brownlow votes and finished 4th in the Bluey. So if you want to live up to the name, you should search your feelings, but also your memories, before you post...

He's a footy player. He's got a footy brain and looked to have an appetite for the defensive stuff that others, er, don't... The beauty of Clark is that now Howe should rarely find himself out of a more comfortable role on the flank than the main target across HF. One thing I will say from experience: it may take some time to adapt to a role where you are dictated to move by another, and he is going to have to adapt to the presence of Clark. I have little doubt he can be a HFF for a long time though.

I wasn't aware Fitzpatrick had signed a contract beyond the automatic 2 year deal?
-
Yes, and then the corporate Darwin money has to be considered. The bottom line is that we would be hundreds of thousands of dollars better off playing in Darwin.

Mention cracked.

Yes, I did say try. And I was ironically using my flourish to complain about Smith's flourishes... And I would like to know whether it happened. The club says it didn't. So if it didn't happen than we make sure those that make sh!t up about our Presidency realise that maybe it isn't a good idea to make sh!t up about our Presidency.

Yes, I would prefer we go too far, try to get Denham sacked, and get the holier-than-thou refrain from Patrick Smith that we acting like 'sullen bullies' or whatever grammatical flourish takes the fancy of this person who loves sport but hates everyone involved in it. Sorry to turn this into Smith-bashing...

I don't think you can add new members over there, let alone transport a thread... If it makes you feel better... Redleg. Mention cracked.
