  1. So Casboult is Alistair Lynch calibre? Why didn't you say so? Let's get him? ND6 and Brayshaw should do it for such a talent.
  2. You would play someone between Hogan and the goals? Jeez, I hope no-one else thinks like that. Get him space and get to his feet, and do it in front of the goals.
  3. Well, Dawes has kicked 31... In two very underwhelming seasons according to many on here... Garlett kicked 40 and Hogan 44 just this season... And just on the last bloke - Hogan owns this forwardline, I don't know how Casboult is going to go with being a witless foil outside of this forward 50, up the ground - I don't want him and his opponent mucking up Hogan's Forwardline. Gawn was a lumbering nightmare when he rested down there against Carlton, spoiled Hogan and the game for us in the end.
  4. 20.53? Ha. Good lord. If he can play relief ruck then he might be chance but I would prefer to have a player that is more mobile to relief ruck. Keeping in mind that they have to play a role for the other 90 minutes they are not rucking for. Well note quite 20.53...
  5. He's talking about Casboult - who is famously, FAMOUSLY, awful in front of goals.
  6. Well, the rotations restriction and the removal of the sub will mean that there will be more 'resting mids' in the forward line, it may open up a bench spot for a pure ruck but I doubt there will be teams who will do that often. You just can't justify a blokes place in the 22 if he is on the field for 30 mins a game. The necessity to have a 2nd tall who can ruck is diminished but still remains as it will allow you to play another mid or back rotation.
  7. When was this? Do you know of a specific interview?
  8. Maybe, but some don't like to play across HF (and some can't play across HF). Hogan demands the ball wherever he is and I hope we don't do what Ross Lyon did to Riewoldt... Put Hogan 25 out - give him the 50 - work out how to get it there but kicking goals is what he should be doing, not spending all his time as a glorified wing. No offence to Riewoldt who has kicked over 600 goals but he has averaged more than 3 goals a game only once - in his 9th year.
  9. The acquisition of this bloke is why I think those in charge of the club are 'switched on' - they saw what we all saw, a lack of a small presence in our forward line - both defensively and in attack - and went out and got one of the best in the league at a cost that is about 30 picks above what we should have paid (~ND30). He then proceeds to come in and do exactly what was desired of him. Just an excellent piece of work from Roos, Viney and the FD. On Garlett himself, he can get better, he might slow down soon but that would be good because he needs to just calm down sometimes and do the simple thing first - like marking the ball. He created so many goals but screwed up a few of the chances he created too. He should get more and more damaging as Jesse becomes Hogan in the next few years...
  10. Yes, how dare he. He should know his place. And those cards are nothing but rumours and the inclinations that a poster got on Microsoft Lync from a colleague talking to Chris who said nothing apparently.
  11. Yeah, obviously. THAT, or Petracca and Viney will be Lions... Because...logic.
  12. Do you need to say that with an upward inflection? It is possible...
  13. If we had such a player, he wouldn't be playing the same role as Jetta. We would want that player to beat a bloke in a spot on the ground where he can quickly become involved in an attack. We wouldn't want this person playing on Betts, Wingard, Walters, and co. They WILL hurt you if they are playing on someone interested in being heavily involved in rebounding the footy. Hawthorn and Geelong still have role players down back who 'beat their bloke.' There is a place for that mentality in good teams.
  14. Nah, right now. Best inside mid we have. Leads the club in average Contested Possessions and Clearances in 2015.
  15. As soon as we moved him forward I thought that we were readying ourselves for his departure, and that the FD was pretty sure the backline would be fine without him.
  16. I think Roos thought the same, before Brayshaw arrived. Garland is wanted because he couldn't get us what Frawley leaving got us. I really don't think we wanted to keep James, and I think young Angus was a big reason for that.
  17. Um, I don't think Frawley really had the option to stick around... As in, Roos lined them up and send "please step forward the players we want to keep"... "Uh, uh, uh. Not so fast James..."
  18. You may not have implied it, but that is what many inferred.
  19. Wow. 3 years. Huge vote of confidence from Roos and Goodwin and the FD. They must rate his work around the club; he must be excellent club man. He has always seemed it, and his words in that article are great to hear. He may not be a force in the 22 in 2018 but he will be force for good at the club in 2018 and I think that is a lesson we have learnt in the last half decade - sometimes keeping good clubmen around is important, even if their onfield contribution won't be.

  21. He's just come off his best season, and, I hope, a realisation that he does not (because he cannot) have to carry a huge load for the Demons to be successful but that doesn't mean he can't be a part of that success. He's a third tall fwd, high HFF, wing, or all of those positions and that is not something that is terribly important to a footy side. And that is why clubs are not after him for what we are asking.
  22. You may have the same light hearted position when you attached photos of a teenager playing in the women's game but you would have to see where the uneasiness is coming from?
