  1. I can believe it. We drafted poorly. Development doesn't 'make a player' just improves what is there. With our picks, there was not much there. At all.
  2. It is interesting though - Mahoney was talking about Terlich having a delayed start to 2016 like he was going to still be on the list... Perhaps they will honour the contract - preferably on the RL...
  3. Jeez, Webber, thanks for the one way trip back to harsh reality... I just broke my nose.
  4. Unlike Watts, who is more value to us than to other teams, Howe is the opposite. They see the high marking and neat skills and goals here and there and we can see through the mirage that is the rest of his game. If we get someone who is best 18 from a Howe trade I am all for it because he would struggle to play next year IMO.
  5. h_h has morphed into a term he coined - Petraccattack.
  6. His opponents would blow up on him absolutely, but they way I want him to use that advantage is in repeat efforts, double leading, leading toward goal - essentially I just don't want him doing 75m leads to centre wing as the norm - like Riewoldt under Lyon. I don't think a immobile tall behind him really helps us. A more mobile set up with players that can lead up the ground would be ideal. That includes the 2nd ruck/forward - but it will be hard to find a good one that can ruck, play outside the 50, and be mobile. Dawes and Pedersen are not ideal but they meet more requirements than a Levi Casboult.
  7. I didn't think it could but... ...it's done. Please be true!
  8. Not excited, but open to it.
  9. I am flattered I have left such an impression on you, even if I disagree with the critique. He will be the target for this forwardline and when we look deep, with in 30 - if he isn't holding the footy - we would want him, and him alone, attempting to get the footy against his bloke. Other than that, yeah, I bicker, I guess when I called you (or was it BB?) The Great Contrarian I struck a nerve. But, yeah, let's not sully the internet with petty bickering...
  10. Not sure what the bolded means - seems contradictory - but players can veto all trades and stay on their contract or, if OOC, go into either the ND or the PSD. We accepted ND7 for Howe but they couldn't convince him to make a life altering decision in an afternoon - it is the kind of hamfisted trade attempt that makes we worried who is in charge up there at GWS.
  11. We did. That's why they got to talk to Howe and couldn't convince him to come in the 2 hours left in Trade Week...
  12. Wow. I am so sorry I hurt your feelings. I will be more careful with my posts in the future. I don't want to cause you anymore heartache.
  13. The only thing agile about Levi Casboult is the goal umpires have to be very agile to move 20m to their left or right to put their arm at perpendicular to their body...
  14. When Garland had his navicular issues a few years ago, he asked to be involved in the scouting of the next draft class and attended junior games and the nat champs. That's above and beyond in my eyes, that's an example of his character and desire to help the club. I hope that is a SCINTILLA, C&B, but I will let you decide... Anyone else have any anecdotes? Make C&B feel better...
  15. Or is that when we play well - he plays well... There is a difference.
  16. Dixon - look, yeah, he can take a mark and kick a goal but it is not that simple when he has to fit into Hogan's Forwardline. I mention that a lot and I am aware that Jesse can adapt to play with anyone and any style of forward set up but I am more interested in winning than fitting all these good players into a forward line so I would like him without internal competition 25-35m out directly in front. The amount of teams that will double team Hogan and attempt to run off him will skyrocket starting Rd 1, 2016. Giving him the 50 is going to be a tough ask but I don't think another tall like Dixon helps; he has to play deep and when there are two talls inside 50 then Garlett has to there too and suddenly that space is non-existent. Plus he has played 65 of a possible 110 games the last 5 years.
  17. *Flies over the head* I am all for this hypothetical player that is a better defender than Jetta taking his spot and providing more run. All for it. I am also all for the CHF that is better than Hogan in every way taking his spot...
  18. Oh, who do you think? Unless a better option actually gets to the club - Dawes will have to go into the ruck for 6 minutes a qtr. Boo hoo, Chris. Boo hoo.
  19. And where is doing his 'CHF'? Where on the ground?
  20. So your point is - Jetta is not as good or desirable as a player as good defensively as Jetta but better offensively? Is that right? Have I understood this ground break?
  21. You said that playing CHF 'worked for Jon Brown' in a dismissive way that was supposed to blow my point of keeping Hogan closer to goals - but it just served my point as he played in front of Lynch then Bradshaw then Fevola. So getting Casboult to play there was what you were implying because that is what we are talking about but who really gives a rip. And I never said 'Hogan out of the square' I said, Hogan 25 out with space around him. You do that, and get 50 Inside 50s a game with our current forward line - Hogan will kick 70, Garlett 50, and the CHF will be a footnote, a role player. Hell, it could be Dawes...
  22. Oh yeah, I am really upset we are not getting Jake effing Carlisle...
