Daniher said Chris Lamb was a ten year full back and then delisted him a few months later.

Jackson competes in the air - as does Weed. I would prefer Jackson as he is too valuable as an option to change things if Gawn is not doing well in the ruck. That is all things being equal; if Weed shows a dominant streak against the Crows then that changes but he was just so-so in the wet unfortunately for him.

We are a very good team. We are rising up Mazlows hierarchy of needs this year so we look for improvements Good System - it’s fully bought in, sometimes there are some millionaires but their teammates are hard on themselves and they correct it. Brayshaw’s IQ - he was everywhere, if he could stop being lazy in execution he would have been clear BOG. Backline strong with Rivers setting himself apart from most kids in the AFL. Fritsch better around the ground and defensively. He probably got shown some vision and responded well. HFF is the toughest position in the game. Spargo, ANB, Kosi - our most important forwards with TMac - they are the reason we can play like this and execute this system. Bad Entries into forward line again... Leading patterns in forward line - they have not played much footy and it shows. They need time together and TMac showed he can play well up the ground as well as deep so we have an opportunity to create a forward line that is dangerous in different ways. They just need time. Meh Umpiring is tough as it is with the rule changes - they are doing fine - they are consistently inconsistent so quit whingeing. C7 commentary - we have these Neanderthals commentate because the nuff nuff fan base demands ‘credentials’ and a rooster in between the legs of those who put their hand up to call the game. Awesome Being a Dees supporter. PS. But I would take Viney back against the Dogs...
-
Lol. FMD - it’s amazing the lengths some fans will go to give a bloke an excuse for a horrible game. If we was concussed - he shouldn’t have played. For himself and the team. He suited up and is fair game.
-
So Fritsch is currently our 5th most important forward and 3rd option going forward. He needs to be present defensively because he is non existent at times and was an anomaly in the space time continuum for 3 hours last Saturday night.
-
I hope the kid can get a few weeks to settle. But we will see when Viney has to fit back in and what they want to do with the Weed. Melksham was down and like Fritsch - if he can’t find the footy and affect the game - he has to impact defensively and he hasn’t been. I don’t have this hatred toward him tho that some supporters hold.
-
Ah ok then - as another poster would say - thanks for paying such close attention to my posts on here. Its flattering. As for Fritsch - he is a soft front runner, much like the bloke whose trade facilitated us picking Bayley (Watts). But you need balance and I am more than happy for Bayley to be playing but you would be kidding yourself if you think he can put in many more performances like that against good teams.

The tangential and cliched weed jokes in this thread...

A symptom of MFCSS; unadulterated negativity over the plans of a promising young player based on nothing more than their state of origin.

@Pollyanna is spot on. And the singular thing that has us going 8-0 is the buy in the Demon Web or whatever they want to call it. It helps when you have May and Lever and Salem but the team defence is the difference. When you trust yourself, and those around you and you all do what you expect your teammates to do - footy suddenly clicks and it is beautiful.
-
Ah, maybe you don’t get my humour... Jackson is a jet at 19, the kind of second ruck that makes me wonder if you and I are in a simulation. And my footy IQ is not in question, have a read, you might learn a few things. ?
-
Jackson spends most of his time forward. This is a week for Gawn to step up, @Rusty Nails, not have a rest. I really don’t understand this constant desire for Gawn to be made a second ruck to someone lesser. It’s his effing job.
-
Weid can ruck so don’t worry about that, no need to move TMac. He is a decent second ruck. Jackson is a ridiculous second ruck that threatens the fabric of reality, but Weed is decent enough to give Gawn a chop out.
-
Weed has decent rucking form so he should come in - the position is a forward who rucks and after last week - Gawn will want to ruck for most of this game too. No brainer.
-
It stood out, that’s how good the team was compared to where he was.
-
The club is trying to get members. Are you really going to kick up a stink over $40?
-
I understand where you are coming from with Fritsch’s output and I don’t deny that Melksham is under pressure. However, past output is meaningless really unless you are a star and Bayley plays in a ‘system’ team now where it’s not enough to kick 2 goals a game if you don’t help the team and play your role both with the footy and without. I can tell you - the direction from the coaches won’t be ‘make sure you get your 2 or 3 goals’...
-
Do you know what correlation means?
-
Melksham is good too, Brown as well. Fritsch if he stops being so tight in the arms is also solid. He’s the most nervous tho - must have nightmares about missing goals in the nude or something.
-
I think those 2 or 3 could be kicked by Weideman or by other players. It’s hardly ridiculous; I have suspicions that Bayley is a front runner and that he can’t continue to have too many more games like last week if he wants to ply finals in this team. He was nowhere.
-
After that performance I think TMac should be left in the forward line. I am thinking Fritsch is the player Weideman should be eyeing off. People say we can’t play three talls - however, when one of your ‘mediums’ doesn’t chase, tackle, link up, etc - what’s the difference? The added benefit of playing a tall is the match up is harder for the opponent. Rampe could be given something to think about if he was made to play taller. Something to consider anyway.

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - KYSAIAH KROPINYERI PICKETT
rpfc replied to olisik's topic in Melbourne Demons
Ineffective? Are you serious? He and Spargo are in the heads of defenders now and it is partially why we have the best defence in the game. Again he was a leader with his pressure and his 6 tackles. Not to do a drive by but Fritsch was ineffective. Kosi doesn’t have bad games because he gives so much on the defensive side of the game. -
Centre Clearances - Considered Analysis Requested.
rpfc replied to DEE fence's topic in Melbourne Demons
Goodwin really gave everyone an insight - it’s about territory. We don’t care about clearances per se when the kick is under pressure - it plays into our plan; high backline interceptions through players who are seemingly destined to know when to ruin someone else’s day. However, the more clearances you let the oppo have the closer those contests to intercept happen to the opposition goals and that means that mistakes matter more and we can leak goals. We need to not get smashed like we did against good teams. That won’t matter against Carlton next week but def against Bulldogs et al. They will make you pay when given an opportunity to lace out forwards 1v1.
