Contracted Tomlinson Looks to Move On?
Jed shows good promise, had a good 2nd half of the year. Kye has had an injury interrupted year so there's no indication of what he can do.

Contracted Tomlinson Looks to Move On?
Hopefully he gets the respect he deserves from the FD. I bet he's frustrated with the mixed messages he's been getting, not sure what he could've done differently this year.

Are we all on the Giants bandwagon?
Absolutely, love their game style and have a massive soft spot for Hoges and Bedford.

What's needed in 2024
1. Replacements for hunter and Langdon. Desperate for better disposal from the wingers. 2. A gameplan that utilizes different skill sets. A big reason Toby Bedford is excelling at GWS is due to game style. We need to adjust our game plan to utilize fast ball movement. 3. Stafford needs to be relegated to exclusively ruck coach or gone completely to manage soft cap. 4. Rivers in the guts full time to utilize his kicking. 5. Draft for elite kicking mids with pace.

Any word on Angus?
Reposting this here to get some eye balls on the reality of repeat concussions for sports people in other fields https://www.mmafighting.com/2021/1/12/21554602/the-cost-of-being-the-king-spencer-fisher-ufc Everyone should read this article about Spencer Fisher, former mma fighter, describing his rise and fall dealing with concussion and CTE. Being mma it seem far removed from football, but not so far when you think of Spud Frawley and Jeff White. “He’d just kind of black out and have, like, a slight convulsion,” she says. “It wasn’t epilepsy, but it was a convulsion. I’ve seen him do it a couple of times, where his eyes are open...” She freezes her face and flutters her eyes. “Just kind of, gone. I just sit there and shake him to get him to come back, and he always starts sweating afterward.”

Maynard must get at least four weeks
https://www.6pr.com.au/david-mundy-the-afl-is-trying-to-adjudicate-the-game-they-want-tomorrow-not-the-game-were-seeing-at-the-moment/ David Mundy has weighed in on the Brayden Maynard incident which has divided the football world. Speaking during his regular Monday night segment on Wide World of Sports, Mundy set the agenda off the top, setting phone lines alight. “Laura Kane stepping in signals that the AFL is trying to adjudicate the game that they want tomorrow, not the game that we’ve had in the past, and not the game that we’re seeing at the moment.” “If Brayden Maynard was falling and that was Scott Pendlebury underneath him, I think he would make a different decision than cover up and just protect himself and not worry about the other player.” When asked by Adam Papalia what Maynard should have done differently, Mundy used all of his 376 games of AFL experience when building his response. “When you’ve jumped up and you’re in the air and there’s a player underneath you, you have the ability to almost catch yourself as you’re falling on top of them. It would have been really awkward and they’d have had a tumble, but that response has a much lesser chance of resulting in serious health concerns."

Maynard must get at least four weeks
Great article, for the health of the players, a fundamental shift will need to happen. Not only at this level but every level of football.

PODCAST: QF Preview vs Collingwood
What is the ace up the sleeve for both teams? The Pies will be aware we will counter their overlap in some may, as we showed this gameplan in the QB game. I don't think they will adjust their gameplan much, but De Goey will be a major in for the clearance work. He shredded us last year. I think our ace in the sleeve remains Clayton Oliver. If let off the chain he can accumulate massive numbers but I have been loving his defensive mid work and I think he may sacrifice his individual numbers to use his physicality and pressure around the stoppage.

Mabior Chol
Schache is our place holder depth tall who is soft/skilled. Any other trades for tall forward/rucks need to make us immediately better and go straight into the 22. If we're recruiting for depth, I would prefer a much less skilled work horse Andrew Phillips/Cam Pederson type over a skilled soft player. Would probably be cheaper too.

Max Gawn made me smile
Max is such an impressive leader. To take responsibility in the Grawndy saga while Brodie has coped so much over it shows how he does not place himself above others within the club.

Farewell Mitch Hannan
Loved his first year with us, kicking freak one touch snaps in the goal square. Farewell Mitch.
