  1. Just watching the replay now for the first time and I think Gerard Healey is losing it. To quote… 6.47 left in the third after Brisbane kicked a goal “there is a significant gulf between these two sides” 6.01 “great defensive stuff from Melbourne they are so close (to Brisbane) it’s not funny” Must’ve been a big 46 seconds of the game 😂
  2. Since he hurt his knee in 22 he can’t kick more then 30 metres. And even the ones he does kick sit up in the air for an eternity.
  3. Unlike most other punters on here I’m bitterly disappointed Robbo might hang up the mic. I found it strangely comforting to turn onto the only journo who had sunk more booze than me that night.
  4. His lowest amount of touches since round 24 last year versus us. 14 disposals and 5 turnovers.
  5. If you think MFC’s football program develops players as well as Geelong and Sydney on a consistent basis you’re on something stronger than a few drinks.
  6. He’s got over 25 possessions once in 95 games and over 6 clearances also once. Warner had 7 clearances in the last quarter on the weekend. I always liked him but we just cannot develop players like the best clubs can.
  7. I’m not normally a conspiracy theory kind of guy but I’m pretty confident Trac, @Demonland and @binman orchestrated this whole charade for extra clicks. Can you imagine the increase in google ad revenue from Demonland? Always follow the money.
  8. I understand it is a business and professional sport so it’s ruthless. However when I’m firing/moving people on, which we all acknowledge must happen at times, you have to be careful. The ones that stay and the ones you want to keep are all watching very carefully how you treat people.
  9. Yeah crazy that the members expect competent, informed and prepared leadership.
  10. He’s been in AFL management for 17 years. Somehow the playing groups opinion of his performance for the majority of that career (~10 years) isn’t relevant. Make that make sense.
  11. Sure thing champ. Playing group who played under CEO for almost a decade has an opinion on his leadership. Somehow that’s relevant because of…reasons?
  12. Way overs. Robottom, Seb Ross, McStay, Josh Dunkley were all pick 25. we should just draft…
  13. So a premiership player and Brownlow medallist who has close connections to that playing group, can’t have an opinion on the CEO he played under for 9 years, his whole career basically. Tell me how that’s irrelevant?
  14. I listened to Dane Swans podcast (and lost 20 IQ points) and also learned that Swan and the players didn’t like Pert at all. They were joking about how people who don’t like him don’t call him “Perty” and Swan said the playing group had plenty of other names for him. He is quite fond of Eddie. And said even though he was a nuffie he was passionate and professional. I’m sure plenty will denigrate Swan as no brain surgeon, but he definitely does not GAF and is very honest.
  15. It’s one thing I’ve never really understood in all of this. How involved mummy and daddy are. I get it they’re a close Italian family and that’s wonderful. But he’s almost 30. When I have a performance review or career discussion or even a workplace injury my manager doesn’t call my mum. I’m an adult.
  16. 3 weeks for Moore collapsing at the knees. Unbelievable.
  17. Where was that reported and how was he to blame for that loss more than anyone else?
  18. Gulden was a swans academy player. He wasn’t going anywhere else.
  19. Case in point: Stengle collapses in a nightclub at 2am and is in a serious condition in hospital. Media virtually silent. Club says “drink may have been spiked”. Please… give us some credit. Dangerfield goes off script and says Stengle made an “error of judgement”. Oops, I thought his drink was spiked? How is it an error of judgment if he’s the victim of a crime? Media: *crickets* Imagine if that was Clarry.
  20. Can someone explain to me how he can say he is going before a deal has been done that satisfies the club, given he is under contract? Surely we can hold him to the contract if we choose?
  21. Couldn’t agree more. His contribution to that flag is criminally underrated by most. Set the tone early by smashing Macrae. Then was involved in all the bang goals. Everyone goes on about Jackson but you’ll see Viney was the extractor.
  22. He doesn’t work for the club therefore cannot have an opinion based on his observations with the experience of 50 years at the top level? Conversely the only opinion that can therefore be taken seriously is those from within the club? That are inherently subjective and driven by vested interest? Strange take. I’d say Malthouse is more learned than the average observer. His opinions may not be infallible but I can’t understand how they’re just dismissed like he’s some nuffy.
  23. Coached the most games in the history of the AFL (718). I’d say that gives him some credibility.
  24. Where is Roffey? Happy to take the back slaps when she’d been at the club for 2 minutes but when the chips are down and leadership is sorely needed she’s MIA?
