WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - CHRISTIAN PETRACCA
Gees Dieter a bit harsh, I watched his package and he seemed very deft in delivery! If what we believe is true and Mc Cartin goes at 1 sheeeeit Our Midfield will suddenly resemble a battery of Cybermen!! All programed for just one thing.... Get the footy! I love it and if the rumour Mill is wrong I won't despair with Brayshaw and Mc Cartin not in the least. In fact St.Kilda are under more pressure than a hot air balloon in zero gravity! The best thing about the possibility of snaring Petracca and Brayshaw is that it means we free up some playmakers across half back and forward and create multiple options for game plans and stylised play making! Not only that real pressure for spots in the side creates very heatlhy competition! Wundabar!

A few observations Clarke's captaincy and batting were woeful Lyon is not a spinners bootlace, , if you cannot get wickets on turners what is the use of you Discard have never thought he was much chop! Maxwell has played his one and only test disgraceful dismissal in the second innings . Park Cricketer at best Haddin career over time to find another O Keefe I don't think is up to it ! Starc also abysmal selection Time to build your team around Smith, Warner, Johnson, Piddle ( possibly) Agar, Wade( possibly) Rogers is good on fast decks and the rest are a toss up. Not sure I would want the injury prone Watson back ! Time for an overhaul!

The Ollie Whines Lounge
No greatest crime was not being selected in front of Wines it was 1 Our greatest need ( inside ball winning ability was neglected) 2 Question marks over recovery after double hip surgery (pace gone) 3 Go Home factor. Regarding who PT would have taken my Sth Australian source strongly suggested at the time that Port would almost certainly gone with Toumpas.

So why didn't he take him????? And if we don't point the finger at Neeld then Why when he knew the ability of Wines, was his sons best mate and wanted to come to the dees? WHY ??????

Don't know if this theory has been Touted but I just wonder" wonder" if Viney chose Toumpas because he might have had his Son's best interests at heart. I mean to say Wines is twice the player Viney is, even maybe more so. Hnmm some food for thought!

The fact that Lyon is still getting a game is an indictment on Australia's spin bowling stocks What have we tried since Warne 10-15 others Farrrrrrr out! We now continue with (or not turn to) a bloke who has not ONCE won a game for Australia, even on crumbling day 5 pitches! FACE IT NATHAN LYON IS NOT A MATCH WINNER!! FAWAD AHMED POTENTIALLY IS and for all facts and stats created. Time to be bold! Oh, Sorry Mr. Inverarity boldness was never your suite!

POMS TO WIN IN SERIES WHITEWASH Putting on my soothsayer hat I predict 1 Watson to break down for yet the Nth time and as result, placing test career in extreme doubt. 2 Mitch Johnson to bowl so many "unplayable balls" by virtue that he will be all over the place in yet another "Insipid" waste of the new ball. 3 Nathan "I don't spin the ball at all" to be "Belted" out of the attack and therefore playing his last test for Australia, Fawad Ahmed "Come on down! 4 Iron Gloves Haddin to have a stinker with bat and gloves therefore leaving test career in jeopardy again. 5 Clarke to captain poorly and have even more critics than before. 6 Rhino Harris to bowl himself into stress fracture territory. That will suffice for the moment!

Jimmy Toumpas
Even more mind Boggling that we continue to accept that our recruiting in the last few years has been .... SPOT ON!!
-
Jimmy Toumpas
Toumpas?? Vs Wines?? as per one of my earlier threads.... Hijacked as per usual! No Contest Wines is easily much much better than Jimmy, who will be OK when ball is delivered to him on platter!! A better mans Cale methinks We have stuffed up yet again! Wines was sensational last night! Irresistable! Until Jimmy learns a bit of... ah confidence... You do know the rest!! And if any are in Doubt just take a close look at last weeks game early in the second quarter! Wines... well what a great pick he should have been!

The third test in Sydney provides the selectors with a fantastic opportunity to "Blood"spinner Glenn Maxwell but will they? Probably not, but If I were them I would play him instead of Nathan "I don't spin the ball much" Lyon. I don't believe based on what I have seen that Lyon will ever be a match winner, tidy slow medium line and length seems about it I'm afraid.. If Lyon plays and doesn't fire here It might push him down the spin bowling order I feel.Jon Holland is also a possibility for a tour pending fitness. Let's be Bold and see what Glenn Maxwell's got and rest Lyon to canvas all spin bowling possibilities and prepare for the Indian tests and ultimately the next ashes series with a bit of foresight! Eh?

Well I thought I had seen it all !! But alas Not really enough!! Are you Demonlanders ready for this??? The man who I thought would never play another test, one dayer, or kay f ceerrrr! has won himself another contract with the ACB?? The only inference I can make of this is, that his career might not yet be finished?? Surely.... not serious ?? The old boys club is alive and well! Is this April 1 ??
