  1. We’re 4-0 in round 1 clashes against the Dogs.
  2. Hopefully they put in an improved performance this time around. Sydney are deplorable in grand finals under Horse.
  3. Hawthorn are probably going to have a text book MFC loss. Blow it through inaccuracy while the opposition kicks something absurd like 16.4.
  4. Can Sydney’s style of footy under Longmire stack up on Grand Final day? History suggests no. I think they’ll have an outstanding home and away season but I’d be looking at others to win it all.
  5. Is about to sign a 2 year deal. Next….
  6. BBB and T Mac made the cut.
  7. Agree with him but we somehow landed 100 points on Carlton the other week (albeit a practice match)
  8. Tomlinson played a solid and mistake free game, and was subsequently rewarded with yet another omission. I'd have to re-watch the game as I too thought McVee had an ordinary game. 20 possession is a good outcome. Like Rivers, I haven't yet seen a quantum leap from 2023 into the first 2 praccy matches and round 0.
  9. I can't see how we don't hold Petty to his contract for 2025 unless we have a proven and experienced key forward to replace him. The club owes it to itself and its members to look after its backyard first and foremost (which they didn't do with the Grundy trade) We should tell Adelaide that if a forward hasn't agreed to come to us before or during trade week this year, then we're not trading him.
  10. If it wasn’t 2 metres out it was all of 3 out but it was a shocker of a miss all the same. Would’ve given them a handy 13 point lead. Surprised Carlton didn’t pile on the goals in the last quarter given the opposition were down 3 players.
  11. So nothing surer now thab Lobb kicking 5 and being the difference.
  12. Tomlinson kept Lobb to 2 marks and 0 goals in the corresponding game last year so ofcourse we go ahead and drop him for this one.
  13. Go back and analyse the results last year when only Lever and May are our tall defenders above 195cm. We invariably lose, including the Pies final when he stubbornly dropped Turner and didn’t replace him with Tomlinson.
  14. Disappointed B Dale got up for them. He was understood to be in doubt.
  15. I assume Billings will be dropped when selections go down. Goodwin smartly started him as sub to boost his confidence last week, but Jack didn't repay the favour during his time on ground.
  16. Don't get your hopes up. If there wasn't a royal commission in to Goody's last two uses of the sub, I don't think you'll get one here.
  17. First 9 rounds are 1pm for Sunday games. Then they revert back to 1:10 games. Just coz AFL.
  18. A lock in your opinion or a lock full stop? A hobbling BBB is a better option than a fully fit Schache. The opposition would be far more worried about the former and he has a knack of kicking goals against the Dogs in early season MCG games. The only consequence here is that JVR will back to second ruck duties, assuming Fullarton isn't selected.
  19. Be interesting if Sydney can back up their impressive performance.
  20. If he's so "out of favour" then why did we select him for round 0 against all odds?
  21. "The weather took us by surprise" - Trent Rivers on SEN. Not sure if he was making an excuse but he went out of his way to mention it.
  22. I think that point got lost in the wash. A few posters disrespected Sydney post game by saying we lost to a team that aren't even good, which is wrong IMO. Post game I thought that the only VIC team that would have beaten Sydney was Collingwood and given Collingwood's lethargic performance on the weekend, I doubt they would have either. In reality, who would have beaten Sydney on the weekend? Perhaps GWS. In hindsight it was a terribly tough fixture given the humidity and I sincerely hope we won't be fixtured in this game next year. 4 points are too valuable to throw away because we can't handle adverse conditions.
  23. The answer would be a resounding no based on the recent Grundy trade. We received a couple of mediocre picks in exchange for making a top 8 rival considerably stronger.
  24. Agreed he had a really poor game. Absolute liability with ball in hand and the opposition are starting put a lot of work into him. However, he’s a gun player in the prime of his career, so I’m expecting another really good season, starting this week.
  25. Fair to say JV’s in career best form at the moment.
