CASEY: Practice Match vs Coburg
Coburg went 0-18 last year. I wonder if they’ve improved or we’re heading down the ladder? Hopefully BBB can keep us afloat for a couple of weeks so as not to rush Petty.
- Records we can be proud of

NON-MFC: Round 01
Hopefully they put in an improved performance this time around. Sydney are deplorable in grand finals under Horse.

NON-MFC: Round 01
Hawthorn are probably going to have a text book MFC loss. Blow it through inaccuracy while the opposition kicks something absurd like 16.4.

NON-MFC: Round 01
Can Sydney’s style of footy under Longmire stack up on Grand Final day? History suggests no. I think they’ll have an outstanding home and away season but I’d be looking at others to win it all.

What they're saying down at Barkly Street
Agree with him but we somehow landed 100 points on Carlton the other week (albeit a practice match)

Judd McVee no stinker
Tomlinson played a solid and mistake free game, and was subsequently rewarded with yet another omission. I'd have to re-watch the game as I too thought McVee had an ordinary game. 20 possession is a good outcome. Like Rivers, I haven't yet seen a quantum leap from 2023 into the first 2 praccy matches and round 0.

Harrison Petty
I can't see how we don't hold Petty to his contract for 2025 unless we have a proven and experienced key forward to replace him. The club owes it to itself and its members to look after its backyard first and foremost (which they didn't do with the Grundy trade) We should tell Adelaide that if a forward hasn't agreed to come to us before or during trade week this year, then we're not trading him.

NON-MFC: Round 01
If it wasn’t 2 metres out it was all of 3 out but it was a shocker of a miss all the same. Would’ve given them a handy 13 point lead. Surprised Carlton didn’t pile on the goals in the last quarter given the opposition were down 3 players.

PREGAME: Rd 01 vs Western Bulldogs
A lock in your opinion or a lock full stop? A hobbling BBB is a better option than a fully fit Schache. The opposition would be far more worried about the former and he has a knack of kicking goals against the Dogs in early season MCG games. The only consequence here is that JVR will back to second ruck duties, assuming Fullarton isn't selected.

NON-MFC: Round 01
Be interesting if Sydney can back up their impressive performance.

Geelong Sets Sights on Oliver
If he's so "out of favour" then why did we select him for round 0 against all odds?

Good news week (positive news only)
I think that point got lost in the wash. A few posters disrespected Sydney post game by saying we lost to a team that aren't even good, which is wrong IMO. Post game I thought that the only VIC team that would have beaten Sydney was Collingwood and given Collingwood's lethargic performance on the weekend, I doubt they would have either. In reality, who would have beaten Sydney on the weekend? Perhaps GWS. In hindsight it was a terribly tough fixture given the humidity and I sincerely hope we won't be fixtured in this game next year. 4 points are too valuable to throw away because we can't handle adverse conditions.

The answer would be a resounding no based on the recent Grundy trade. We received a couple of mediocre picks in exchange for making a top 8 rival considerably stronger.
