  1. Tom Greenโ€™s a chance to miss round 1 with a calf injury. Epic out if that comes to fruition.
  2. Yeah that makes sense given the closures started last year. I'll miss having 6 bays to myself on the top level of the AFL members.
  3. Yeah I think you're right. They did this yesterday with the WC/Rich and Geel/Hawks game. In 2022 I think Kayo had exclusive rights to these match sims and were not shown on Foxtel which I found bizarre at the time. They rectified that the following year.
  4. I will happily eat massive humble pie if we're 3-0 after round 3 and the loss of Kozzie has no impact on our W/L record. We lack serious X-factor, class and potency when he doesn't play. Think of the early season Sydney and Brisbane losses last year when we were actually up and about as a side, but his absence stuck out like a sore thumb. We were an impotent forward line and overall team last year even with him in the side, I can't imagine it being any better without him.
  5. Hopefully Foxtel revise their scheduling by using one of their other sports channel to show our game live. At the moment Fox Footy is showing Carlton V St Kilda live but not our game. Seems odd that you pay more for Foxtel than Kayo and yet Kayo only shows the game live.
  6. Tim Kelly was a shocker when it came to this. Pleaded with Geelong to trade him back to WA on humanity grounds. Tim was in his early 20's and had young children, and he and his partner were desperate for family support. He was well in his rights to request a trade back to WA but then had the nerve to demand to be traded to West Coast because they were only 12 months past a flag while Freo at the time were...well... Freo.
  7. Get the best small forward not currently on the list that is AFL ready. If that's Henderson great. We essentially need a small forward for a 3 game contract given Kozzie is suspended and Spargo's only just got going and might not be ready for the opening rounds.
  8. In the same breath this morning Cornes also said that we should dig our heels in and hold him to his contract.
  9. Langford and Sharp would be the two front runners. I'm not as confident as Lindsay debuting in the early rounds due to his late pre season. Campbell would be clear number 1 if Gawn was unavailable for round 1, touch wood that doesn't happen.
  10. We play West Coast there later in the year. We might be in a bit of danger in beating that crowd if we're no good by then and the fact that most MFC supporters hate going to Marvel. They'll close the top deck for the Dees/Eagles game there as they'll want to create the impression on TV that people are actually there.
  11. From memory in 2018, Collingwood (as they usually do) spoilt the party for us. Had they lost to Freo on the Saturday and we beat GWS on the Sunday we would've made top 4. Given the Pies won, we had to beat GWS to host an elimination final Vs Geelong, which we did. Had we lost we would've travelled to Sydney for our first finals win in donkey's years. It was a special win over GWS and the vibe was electric at the time, with respect to being an MFC supporter in 2018. I'd argue just as much as 2021. Spot on with the year and crowds. We don't draw well Vs GWS for obvious reasons.
  12. We got 42,000 when we played Sydney in 2023 (a great win ironically without Kozzie) on the GP Sunday. Probably about 2,500 - 5,000 less than hoped. On that basis, I reckon the GWS game will go from 28,000 to 25,000. We once got 37,000 to a GWS game at the G, but in that game we'd just made finals for the first time in years and the vibe around the club was a lot better than it is at the moment.
  13. It mostly is but there were two tackles laid by Kozzie that couldโ€™ve easily ended in concussion. Kozzie had some great moments while May finally had a win over Freoโ€™s forward line.
  14. Just my opinion- I think we need to be resigned to the fact that Kozzie will be at Freo next year and the introduction of the 2 year future draft pick will get a trade over the line, in my opinion. It wonโ€™t be overs but weโ€™ll have some first round capital to play with prior to Tassie. The Neal-Bullen trade sets a precedent to the contracted cohort of the playing list that weโ€™ll get you home under humane reasons. Weโ€™ll be far the worse side without him as he provides such a point of difference.
  15. Anyone that has kicked 4 goals in an AFL game warrants consideration. Sounds like they need to be 100% certain that McAdam will be unable to play at all this year for Culley to get added onto the list. Just speculating but McAdam might have a fracture in the leg or ankle and be out for 3 months rather than the entire year.
  16. North Melbourne are doing a 9:30am intra club and family day today. Thatโ€™s how you build fan engagement and membership in February. We on the other hand have an intra club and family day when 95% of the membership base are probably at work. Why would they do this? To give the boys the weekend off? We just continue to kick own goals - no matter how major or minor.
  17. Wouldโ€™ve been a fun day watching the Dees.
  18. You wouldn't think he'll play in the seniors off just one week back in full training. More likely against Freo on 2 March.
  19. An under utilised asset we have. Bowey nailing a frankfurt on the run from 50.
  20. Meanwhile North are having their intra club and family day at this ludicrously stupid and un family friendly time of Saturday at 9:30am (tomorrow).
  21. Was just reading an article (published pre McVee injury) from the Zero Hangar about the projected best 25 small-medium defenders for 2025 and McVee wasn't mentioned.
  22. When's he due back to full contact training? Is the plan to take him over to Mandurah for the final praccy match? Assume he's on track for round 1 V GWS??
  23. No worries. Easy to mix up those sub par years - 2020 and 2021.
  24. Sadly it was 2020 at Arden Street. https://www.nmfc.com.au/news/558823/roos-schedule-practice-match In 2021 we beat Richmond in a match sim at Casey in front of closed doors and then lost to the Dogs at Marvel in the official AAMI practice match.
  25. Yep, heading to the game. Need to ignore the scoreboard in these match sims and be rationale in the game threads, as Richmond touched us up and North walloped Collingwood in the corresponding games last year. Last time I went to Arden Street for a game, shortly after the world (or more specifically Melbourne) shut down for the next 18 months so let's hope history doesn't repeat. There were definitely park restrictions near the oval on that Friday afternoon, and I suspect Saturday parking won't be much better. You'd imagine out of our genuine best 23 Trac, Spargo, McVee and possibly Viney and Windsor (if the latter 2 haven't recovered) will miss this game. Tholstrupp as well but I'm not sure he's in our best team at the moment.
