  1. Excellent embarrasing record. Would love nothing more than to break that record this year.
  2. Correct you are . Our 2021 game was originally scheduled on a Saturday, but changed to a Sunday at the very last minute. I've adjusted our embarrassing record to: Have never beaten Gold Coast on a Saturday night which is the timeslot we have them in this year.
  3. Just a few obvious ones that come to mind: 1) Haven't beaten Adelaide in Adelaide on a Saturday since 2017. Nor a Sunday since 1996. 2) Haven't beaten Brisbane on a Friday night in QLD since the Bears inception in 1987. 3) Haven't beaten Carlton in a home MCG game on a Saturday since 1997. 4) Haven't beaten Collingwood on an MCG Q'Bday game since 2017 5) Haven't beat Essendon in a home game since 2010 6) Haven't beaten Freo in WA since 2004 7) Haven't beaten GWS at the MCG since 2018 8) Haven't beaten Gold Coast on a Sunday game since 2018 9) Haven't beaten Geelong in Geelong on a Saturday in a non COVID affected year since 2005 10) Have never beaten Hawthorn in a Saturday or Sunday twilight game. 11) Have never beaten North at Marvel 12) Haven't beaten Port in consecutive attempts in Adelaide. 13) Haven't beaten Richmond in an away game since 2015 14) Haven't beaten St Kilda at the MCG since 2017. Have never beaten them at the MCG in the 1:10pm slot. 15) Haven't beaten Sydney on a Sunday at the MCG since 2001 16) Haven't beaten West Coast on a traditional Fri/Sat/Sun game in Perth since 2017 17) Have never beaten the Dogs on a Friday night at the MCG.
  4. Meaning home sickness. Nothing more than that. If he's having his parents come over to live with or near him, then I'd be putting 2 and 2 together and presume his home sick. I could be wrong. Ultimately I'd love for him to sign a 4 year deal, but I don't think this re-signing will be easy IMO.
  5. It might be that he sees himself living in Perth for the better part of his career as his priority rather than just money or playing in successful sides, and that his parents have moved over to help him through some issues.
  6. Because I have no doubt West Coast are working on a god father offer for LJ. They need a star after Nic Nat retires in 2-3 years whilst Freo don't really need him as much due to their young star ruck in Sean Darcy. We'll be doing extremely well if we can get LJ on a long term deal. Extremely well.
  7. Yeah agreed- get the 2 WA clubs here after their practice match in Perth in early March. Ill be really disappointed if that bloke holds the AFL hostage by forcing the 16 other clubs to hub in WA for 3-4 weeks throughout the season and bending over to WAโ€™s needs.
  8. Wasn't there talk of trading our pick 2 for Buntine and another ordinary GWS player some years ago. Thankfully that never eventuated.
  9. I know this might sound silly to some but I'd prefer the 2022 scenario of being able to attend games but having any amount of players miss on any given week as opposed to being in lockdown but having a full complement of players per 2020 and 2021. This is assuming lockdowns are a thing of the past....
  10. Sounds like Blundstone Arena - 2017 v's North. Except there was a 50m line for the mens as well. And you'd have to sacrifice a quarter if you wanted to line up for a pie and beer. Hopefully things have improved since then.
  11. Used to enjoy going to Princes Park, particularly because we had a pretty decent record there, including winning the last ever game there. The ground had a bit of character as long as you ignored all the Carlton bits. Whitten Oval was ok, sitting near the Melb cheer squad on the outer wing and having a couple of easy wins over Fitzroy in the mid 90's. I only have vague memories of the old southern stand (circa 1989, 1990) as I was only 8 years old at the time. Can anyone describe it for me? Were facilities ok or was it in dire need of a face lift in the early 90's? Were there many food/drink concession stands, TAB's, pubs etc... in the old southern stand... Was it general admission throughout the entire stand or was there an AFL/VFL members section?
  12. Are we expecting a big win tonight or was Richmond's dominant win last week too good to ignore, and do our outs hurt us?
  13. Very sad news. From memory he was close to getting a game for the club in 2018 after a 4 goal VFL performance but then got injured I think.
  14. Guthrie and Close should've received an invite to the MFC celebration day as without their kind gestures I'm not sure whether we would've won a flag from outside the top 2.
  15. 2018 being the game when Zac Tuohy kicked a goal after the siren and GFC and MFC supporters picked fights with each other all night. Roosy's last game was a picnic compared to the horrid ending to the 2018 night.
  16. It was indeed but it wouldโ€™ve been nice to go down the highway that night just to see the mood of the locals. Especially what Geelong did to us in 2018 down there.
  17. Beating them by a point in a grand final after the siren(at the MCG not Optus Stadium!) with Selwood giving away a dubious free kick on the buzzer would go some way.
  18. Put them in a bubble through to 30 September. Only allowed to leave home to train, play and travel for interstate games. I'm sure the players will be up for that.
  19. Backing in LD to win the 2022 Norm Smith medal.
  20. Hibberdโ€™s definitely not in my best 22 for this year.
  21. Top shelf depth for this year. Probably misses round 1 if weโ€™re at full strength. Weโ€™re in a great position to have May, Lever, Petty and Tomlinson fighting for 3 tall defender spots.
  22. No issues with a 5 day lockdown before the kids go back to school and way before footy season.
  23. The 2022 flag will be even better than the 2021flag if the above scenario happens.
  24. If and itโ€™s a big IF, Essendon can knock off Geelong (MCG) and Brisbane (Marvel) in the opening fortnight, I can see 65,000 for our round 3 Friday night game. This would effectively almost compensate for losing the QBDay gate this year. Ofcourse thatโ€™s dependent on us starting the year in good fashion.
  25. The early season fixture lends itself to some significant game day membership sign ups. Dogs, Essendon and GWS all in the marquee night time slots.
