  1. Port are winning this and winning this well. Despite people’s low opinion of this club, I think they’re our genuine threat for this flag. They’re almost full strength, haven't needed to quarantine this month, have started beating top 4 sides (Dogs and Geelong) and will field a far stronger line up than the last time we played them (R Gray, Dursma, a fit Butters, etc…)
  2. We can put our hats back on. Roffey has made it to Perth according to channel 7. Kochie has been denied entry. Tom Browne and Sam McClure have also made the trip - because apparently Perth doesn’t have journalists and TV news sports reporters
  3. That 1990 loss to North (130 odd pts) directly cost us the double chance. A close loss and we would've finished 3rd. A little know fact was that we played North when North were in the middle of a 10-2 run, so we got them when they were smoking hot and we were on our obligatory mid season nap. We did actually beat North in round 1 by 53 points that year.
  4. Which one out of interest as both encounters were fantastic wins against North that year. 1) The earlier game where we kicked our equal record score of 180+ 2) The later game where Jako kicked 11.8.74
  5. Given that the losing team pretty much never kicks 100 points in a game these days, I'd say that stat rings true in modern day footy. I think only 2 teams kicked 100 points in a game this year and lost. The early 90's was a different story. For example Sydney were 120 - 90 at half time against North in 1991 and somehow lost by 9 goals.
  6. As a young 10 year old that day I couldn’t work out why there were so many MFC scarves in the bin after the game. That game really knocked the stuffing out of the MFC members as there was a realisation that the 87-91 window was firmly shut. Northey was sacked 16 weeks later.
  7. First game - Round 20 1988 - 10 point loss to the Dogs at the MCG Best game - 2000 qualifying final win over Carlton. I know everyone can't get over the round 23 win over Geelong, but sorry that win didn't come close to the finals win over the heavily favoured Carlton. Worst game - round 2 2013. 148 point loss to Essendon and then got stranded on the train for 3 hours on the Pakenham line as someone thought it would be a good idea to jump on the tracks. An absolutely horrid night. I'm done with watching games on TV. Bring on next year!
  8. Absolutely no upside in handing over a bar code unless you have a family or a friend in Perth. I wouldn’t hand over a bar code to some internet random. Plus people in Perth have had the opportunity to purchase a GF guarantee membership which went on sale recently.
  9. Gotta love every Western Australian and his dog feeding off the carcass of every Melbournian who's stuck in lockdown.
  10. Are you across who the premier of Western Australia is? Not a chance in hell they’d provide that exemption to Jones.
  11. I could probably live with a GF loss this year if it meant winning the next 5 at the G.
  12. Very disappointing for Smith given he’s forever injured. As per the poster who dropped the news in the other thread, he’s one of the more replaceable players.
  13. 10-1-1. Loss against Dogs in round 19 Draw against Hawthorn in round 18 1 loss in the 1:45 slot (GWS) 1 loss in the 3:20 slot (Collingwood) 1 loss in the 4:40 slot (Adelaide) I’ll get back to you on how our record is in Perth grand finals, specifically the 5:10pm WST time slot.
  14. Bowey isn’t that key in that he can be replaced by Hunt. Smith isn’t that key in that he can be replaced by Hibberd. Sparrow isn’t that key in that he can be replaced by Jordon (albeit in different roles but should get similar output) A severely out of form T Mac can be replaced by Weid. (A moderately inform TMac would be missed though) Even Harmes isn’t that key in that he isn’t the most accountable mid (was he on Neale?) and is prone to sloppy disposal. I won’t lose any sleep if any of those 5 are out.
  15. He showed in his two or three games this year that the games has gone past him. Wouldn’t be anywhere near selection.
  16. Did we go in favourites and expected win? North weren’t exactly a mug team that year and lost a game the week before to the premiers after the siren.
  17. Port have been given the red carpet entry to a premiership this year Would be an absolute indictment on Hinkley if they fail yet again.
  18. Will clearly be the next captain after Gawn.
  19. ANB corked calf but will play on Friday night.
  20. What a shame for him. Clearly won’t be seen again this year. Although one could argue he was never coming back in regardless.
  21. Ch 7 news reporting we’ve copped an injury but will have to wait until 6:45 to see who it is.
  22. For what’s is worth, West Coast beat Collingwood 3 times in 2018, so it can be done.
  23. If Port are half serious this year, they take care of the Dogs next week considering they’ve slept in the same bed for 3 weeks.
  24. This has a reek of 2016 about it. Dogs pulling finals wins out of their behinds.
