  1. This is a very shallow analysis but we've played our best footy of the year with T Mac and Fritta as our number 1 and 2 key forwards respectively with Gawn playing deep for 30% of matches. The Richmond and Geelong wins were out best for the year while we looked extremely dangerous against GWS and logged 31 scoring shots against St Kilda. We played the T Mac/Fritta/resting ruck structure in all those games. I think Fritta plays better with more responsibility of being the number 2 forward. I've been disappointed with Weideman. He's going at 0.5 goals a game and just 4 marks. It's not good enough. If Weid fails tonight, I'd give BBB another shot for 3 weeks. If he's no good, then we go with what worked well for us in the early rounds, for the final 8 or so weeks.
  2. I honestly don't think he would've received many boos. Certainly not Tom Scully level boos. He was a fringe player that was offered a better contract elsewhere. Good luck to him. A very similar player to Fritsch who plays bits and pieces of games. Can only carry one of those into the side.
  3. Probably not BBB. Sparrow as he's next cab off the rank in terms of best available. I was thinking Sparrow and Chandler need to log some minutes at Casey but there's no VFL games this weekend.
  4. I understand we have a great record of playing in front of no fans at Marvel.
  5. Be interesting to see what difference the roof off makes to the conditions tonight. It's going to be a cold and still night which might make the surface dewy and slippery which won't overly excite the Dogs. But I don't see the roof off as being much of a factor if any.
  6. Due to integrity of selection they won't do this but I'd bring in BBB and drop the Weid to Casey for the rest of the year and thus rendering him a depth player. Last week we were crying out for a key forward to take the game by the scruff of the neck against a team with a perceived lack of key defenders. Instead we got a 3 mark/1 goal game and he was largely invisible in that critical last quarter. A pity BBB won't be playing at his suited venue - one would assume.
  7. And imagine if we won without him. He's been a bit off since the North game.
  8. Not sure what I disliked more about the 2020 season. Watching games under lockdown or the 16 minute quarters where clubs where struggling to bang on 45 points a game. Please don't bring this garbage back into the AFL.
  9. Good news. Given that 2020/2021 is the gift that keeps on giving I was expecting the player to be Petracca, Oliver or Salem.
  10. A Friday double header? Richmond V Adelaide into our game. Edit - we probably won;t be playing tomorrow night at this rate...
  11. For just the player or the whole organisation?
  12. Oh please no. Hoping our game gets moved elsewhere at the last minutes seeing as though we can't attend. Probably a better chance of beating the Dogs in Sydney or Canberra than at Marvel.
  13. Eddie reckons a 5 day lockdown will be announced tomorrow. Mentioned this on Footy Classifides just then.
  14. 7:50pm really isn’t that late considering the Friday night games started at 8:10pm in the mid 1990’s.
  15. They’ll probably play it at Metricon so Brisbane don’t get the home ground “advantage”
  16. Yep this weekend. Pies to Adelaide the following weekend.
  17. Probably to Metricon and the GABBA again.
  18. Collingwood playing Adelaide on Saturday week over there. Would be interesting to see how that one plays out.
  19. Agreed. Salem was solely responsible for getting us back into the game against Richmond mid way through the 1st qtr. He is such a steadying influence down back and now a high possession/high efficient player - a lethal combo. We thought he'd be sorely missed in the Adelaide game, and was.
  20. Any idea when the 7:20pm starts commence? Not that we ever play Friday night games, but I actually prefer the 7:50 later starts. Plenty of time for dinner and a couple of frothies after work and you're not rushed.
  21. The under 40's brigade should be able to get a jab now if there is ample supply.
  22. Yep, they could do a direct swap and play the Dees V Dogs game in round 20 at Marvel, which only has 2 games on that weekend in late July. Having said that, it sounds like a lock down could be a possibility as it stands right now.
  23. Went to Collingwood V Port last Sunday and the bottom level of the AFL members was pretty much full capacity, barely a spare seat. And yet the top level was closed off. I just don't get it. Prioritising reduced costs over potential health and COVID risks.
  24. I can handle not going to the game if it’s a snap lock down, which may end up happening. But it’s a bit silly not having crowds but yet allowing everyone to sneeze and cough over each other at workplaces. I’m stunned we’re allowed to go into the office today.
  25. I was at that game but luckily sitting in the AFL members. The exposure site was M1 to M16z Got a message from the DHHS to monitor for symptoms.
