When will Melbourne break these embarrassing records?
The MCG flag drought is THE one I'd love to break.

The 2023 AFL Fixture
Yep, good point. One of the Marvel games needs to be Friday night, as much as they'd love the Port V Collingwood game to be Friday night. (unless they're entertaining the idea of a Saturday Marvel double header which would be very unlikely) Here is another example of why Thursday night football needs to be a permanent 24 week timeslot for fixture flexibility. If Edmund's mail isn't 100% as you pointed out, there is still a chance that Melbourne V Brisbane could be the Sunday 3:20 or Saturday 7:25pm slots on channel 7.

The 2023 AFL Fixture
A bit of solid speculation tonight on SEN of the following MFC fixtures: @ St Kilda - Saturday day or night, Marvel v Brisbane - Friday night, MCG @ Carlton - Saturday night, MCG

When will Melbourne break these embarrassing records?
Some upcoming records to overcome: Have never beaten Port on a Friday night since their inception in 1997. Haven't beaten Fremantle on a Saturday MCG game since 2021. Have never beaten Carlton on a Friday night since their inception in 1897.

Reckon they could get around 45-50K.

I can’t see Brisbane beating Collingwood or Geelong in a grand final. I can certainly see them making a grand final should they finish top 2 and host/win both their GABBA finals.

Not prepared to commit to it but for some reason I think Carlton could get some revenge on Collingwood and they finally have a game where it all clicks. The other potential upset is Freo beating Geelong at home if Geelong don’t get anyone back aside from the suspended Close.

Would’ve preferred that Essendon beat Brisbane given Brisbane are a genuine top 2 chance.
- PREGAME: Rd 10 vs Yartapuulti
- GAMEDAY: Rd 09 vs Hawthorn

Are you sure about that. Freo getting the job done as per my prediction. Not sure why people were so confident in Sydney winning. The are drosh this year.

Just a gut feel. And I’ve mentioned it earlier in the week in the Freo thread. Sometimes a club needs an early kill to turn their season and confidence around. This may have happened last week to Richmond. Sydney aren’t flying either and don’t deserve the heavy favouritism they hold. I’m going to look like a genius or a fool either way.

A bonus loss for Geelong as far as we’re concerned given the opposition. They will probably have to go 11-3 to go top 4, which is highly possible for Geelong, big still a tall order. Those early losses may end up costing them dearly.

A few people here are being harsh on West Coast. West Coast have about 26 players able to train throughout the week. Is it any surprise they any get within 7 goals of literally anyone these days? I’d shudder to think how we’d performed with 8 of our best 22 out.

Get on Freo at $3.30 Vs Sydney tomorrow let alone next week. Freo are more than a sneaky chance to roll Sydney on the road.

What they are saying at Waverley Park Drive
I don't boo anyone and that included Scully in peak 2012/2013 days and I certainly won't be booing Frost. Our supporter base has certainly booed Frost though. I will be amazed if Jackson doesn't get the rounds of the table in a couple of weeks.

With all the booing debate, will be interesting if Frost gets booed this week by us fans. He certainly has in our recent meetings.

The 2023 AFL Fixture
If Sydney are out of finals contention by late July/early August then I don't think it's a fait accompli that we'll be playing Sydney on a Friday night in round 24. Essendon V Collingwood and Brisbane V St Kilda could be Friday night contenders for round 24.

The 2023 AFL Fixture
If our Brisbane game is Friday night, then the St Kilda game will be on a Saturday night due to us already having had a 5 day break this year. The competition for Friday night games for round 18 are: Melbourne V Brisbane (MCG) Carlton V Port (Marvel) Collingwood V Freo (MCG) (just because it's Collingwood) Sydney V Bulldogs -(SCG) Geelong V Essendon - GMHBA If the AFL go for one of the other 4 options for Friday night, we could be Saturday night or Sunday 3:20 Vs' Brisbane. That would give the AFL flexibility to schedule us for a Sunday or Saturday night against St Kilda the week before.

The 2023 AFL Fixture
Any speculation on what time slots were getting for the St Kilda and Brisbane games? Hopefully Adelaide and Hawthorn are Saturday games, for those that love the traditional timeslot.
