  1. I think Matt Stevic was the same umpire involved with Hawkins? A lot of the recent cases of umpire contact below were quite careless and unintentional. The only one I can think of that that is similar in intent to Greene’s would be Greg Williams back in 1997 for 9 games. Has to be suspended, particularly when you watch some of the videos of the ones below. My guess would be 4 weeks. Tom Hawkins (2018) - 1 week, made contact with an umpires arm Ed Curnow (2018) - 1 week, minor push on an umpire. I think this was after a match review and the umpire said it was so fleeting he didn’t recall it? Heath Shaw (2009) - 1 week, grabbed an umpires shoulder Justin Koschitzke (2008) - 1 week, ran into the back of an umpire in the VFL whilst rucking
  2. BOG for Geelong is by far the men in yellow. 16 to 5
  3. Unchanged H&A to Finals… gosh that feels good!
  4. Port seem a lot more dangerous with Fantasia in over Georgiades (injured). Our small forwards did well against Geelong.
  5. Coach and success aside, this process has been disgraceful. Would be incredibly demoralising for Teague, the coaching staff and players. This is the type of stuff which can seriously damage a business’ culture (similar to Adelaide’s performance camp).
  6. Jessie Hogan had the same technique. I haven’t seen many successful forwards who mark flat handed.
  7. Fair point deanox. I felt that’s how we played against Geelong, so maybe! The Libba tag was genius though. Nearly every other team has done it since!
  8. I understand small forwards ducking. It’s their role to kick the goals and defenders for the most part know their opponents better and tackle better knowing the penalty they can make. It’s the mids who do it that royally s***t me. They should be taking the game on and in a contest. I remember in one of Mathieson’s first games against us he literally stopped, dropped the knee to the ground and waited for the tackle. Bloke already has a face like a dropped pie so maybe is alright getting hit in the head more often.
  9. Re-watched the Round 12 game and Brisbane’s round this weekend. Despite losing Hipwood they seem more dangerous. Cockatoo was intense and Rich shows how damaging he can be either linking or driving the ball easily into forward 50. I would love to see ANB take a defensive forward roll on Rich to limit his impact, and leave Harmes around the ball like he currently is. Our small forwards were prolific in R12, so need Kosi and Spargo to lift again. McDonald and Fritsch kicked a few but Weids had a doughnut. with BB in hopefully we can improve. Im confident our defence can keep up the intercepting pressure and hold Daniher accountable. Petty could be up to being on Daniher with May and Lever intercepting. So for me the two risks are: 1. It will all be about about midfield efficiency and tackles. Brisbane play with speed, so force turnovers and capitalise. 2. They love playing the man and not the ball. Can’t get sucked into their game like we did in R12 and give them a 20 point head start. Need to protect Gawn and Oliver.
  10. That’s a very interesting stat! Is their form and confidence just on beating cellar dwellers, whereas in our final 8 rounds we’ve played Geelong, Bulldogs, Port and GWS (Bombers in R9).
  11. Was just a sparkle in my old mans eye. I was lucky enough to get up close to it a few years ago. I jokingly asked him what was a bigger disappointment, me or the fact we haven’t won one since… the pause was a bit too long
  12. Would love to know if Mark Ricciuto still believes that Jake Lever is a $500k player and Adelaide are happy that he left.
  13. To be frank - I don't think either team played an exceptional game of footy. For us, there felt very limited midfield pressure. I've been a very big believer of Weidmann, but tonight was woeful for our forwards. Shame - we've now lost to my two most hated teams. Time to cop some stiff banter...
  14. It all started with a contested mark on the wing... when he gets confidence is momentum is impossible to stop Just got a shiver
