We’ll all be decked out in our new “Possessed” cheer squad T-shirts. Ryan, our chant leader, flew to Brisbane to pick them up this morning. Shipping was quoted as $1,100 so Ryan found flights for half the cost, and now we’ll have them in time for tonight’s match. PUMPED!!! … and POSSESSED!!!!!!

Tonight channels 7 and 9 are sending cameras to banner. I’d recommend watching channel 9 on this occasion since Nick McCallum will be there. He’s not just doing his thing then leaving, he’s gonna hang with us for an hour and a half. [censored] got real when we knew tonight’s banner was upon us. We had banner on Monday as well, made the women’s and the backing for the men’s. That night it was all lighthearted and fun as it usually is. But today, as we left the sausage sizzle we were all very solemn and quietly saying “see you tonight.” It’s like we’ve all conspired to commit a murder and it’s happening tonight. 😁

You wouldn’t have been bothering me at all! I was gonna suggest you cook up some snags and onion at home but it’s not the same, is it?! Depending on tomorrow night’s result, we’ll be holding another sausage sizzle either next week or the week after 🤞🏼 And we take cash or card. 👍🏽

You missed out big-time, Layz. The sausages were cooked perfectly, as was the onion. We sold everything. We didn’t expect there to be so much of a demand, so we’re pretty stoked. We got heaps of tips and ‘keep the change’ and one bloke straight up donated $50! Demons supporters are so generous. It also helps if the cash register biattch greets the customers nicely despite running on only three hours sleep and one… I repeat, ONE coffee. And a small one at that. 🙃

❤️💙 Open training at Gosch’s this morning ❤️💙 Those who are coming, make sure you visit the Demon Army tent for a snag in bread! Cheap, delicious and nutritionally sound (sort of). Last night Maysie messaged our incomparable grill-master extraordinaire saying, “save me a snag.” And if it’s good enough for Maysie, it’s good enough for everyone, amirite?!

It’s only week one of the finals and the media requests have already started to come in. Channels 7, 9 and the ABC have asked that cheer squad members (those who can) turn up at various locations this Thursday and Friday mornings for live crosses during their breakfast shows, beginning at 5:30am. We’ll have members turn up, just as we did last year. Our Collingwood counterparts were also approached for the Thursday morning outside the ‘G live cross at 6am but declined the request because it’s “too early for them.” True story.

The whole day/night was absolutely wonderful. The atmosphere was incredible and the pregame activities were nothing short of spectacular. Then the game… chef’s kiss. It’s often noted that the skill levels in W matches have improved with each season. Our girls displayed a level of skill that’s through the roof! So bloody impressive, a joy to watch. I was watching the replay on Sunday and my third-born walked through the room, glanced at the TV then did a double-take. He said “geez mum, if it wasn’t for all those ponytails flying around you’d think this was the men playing.”

It was our team’s choice. Princes Park holds more people and is accessible to more fans being that it’s so close to the city. It has seating and food and beverage outlets. Besides that, the girls love playing at Princes Park and have never lost a match there.
