This is a great initiative and could be so beneficial for all, except for one thing… Gussy’s still struggling to come to terms with the heartbreaking fact that he’ll never play again. It’s for this reason he’s decided to forgo the role the Club gave him ie. being present at training sessions and on the bench for GameDay. By all accounts he finds it too difficult to be part of something he loves but of which he’s been denied… playing footy. 😢

It’s their home game so they control all the ‘activations’ pregame and halftime. Even if it was our home game it wouldn’t happen anyways. The most we were free to do in round one was to all wear Gussy helmets, but we can’t wear them on Monday since we’ll be wearing this year’s Big Freeze beanie. I’ve been PM’d some awesome banner content suggestions from posters on here. Thing is, I doubt they’d even be considered. Remember, the AFL don’t want the Gus travesty highlighted, for obvious reasons 😑

But I really do want him to know training is at Casey tomorrow because his training reports are great.

Just a reminder that the Demon Army will be putting on a sausage sizzle on Monday morning at Fed. Square. We’ll also have soft drink, water and our delicious cupcakes for sale. The entire proceeds from the day will go to FightMND. It’s one of the many activations, along with face-painting, inflatable handball targets, partner giveaways, entertainment on the main stage, among other fun things. Kids will enjoy the festivities so bring ‘em along! Also available will be these Tay Tay style bracelets made by our multi-talented baker … Not all players’ names will be available; just the ‘big’ ones. The above are three from my personal collection of many. And by many I mean I’d need an extra couple of arms to wear them all 😁 Besides player names she makes specialty bracelets for every MFC occasion… On Saturday, along with making Monday’s banner, we’ll be forming a ‘beading circle’ (like a knitting circle only no knitting, just beading, lots of beading). We’ll be making special MND BF10 bracelets. They go for $2 each. Again, all proceeds go to FightMND. We officially start at 10:30am but usually have snags ready earlier than that. PLEASE COME AND SAMPLE OUR FARE. IT’S FOR AN EXTREMELY WORTHY CAUSE.

I’m gonna go the opposite way, NC. It’s pointless implying anything to some people and I’m not about to betray any confidence so best I just clam up. Henceforth I’ll talk about banners and nicknames and that’s about it. Even that’s a stretch since it clearly bothers some folks that I use players’ nicknames in place of their given names *sigh*
