  1. Not 100% sure on this but most likely it’s AFLW members. Probably up to 10 tickets per AFLW barcode. My Demon Army BFF is quite confident it won’t be a sell-out and she knows about these things just like she knows anything and everything AFLW and AFL. 🙂 The capacity is 8000. Our match yesterday drew under 6000 (two Vic. teams). Bris vs. Adel PF drew 2553. So it’s safe to say it won’t sell out.
  2. You’re SO insensitive!!! It could’ve been so much worse though: while being dragged along, I could hear Duxy (everyone knows Duxy, cheer squad royalty) yelling out “where’s WCW? She was right in front of me a minute ago!” I knew it wouldn't be long before he tripped on crepe-wrapped me and had he landed on me I might not be here to tell the tale. For those who don’t know Duxy… let’s just say he weighs significantly more than me. 😬
  3. Awww, that’s so sweet of you. Thank you, PD 💕 Unfortunately I won’t be able to make the trip to QLD. I’m absolutely gutted. Had the GF been scheduled for here in Melbourne I’d be there with bells on, but since they’ve settled on Springfield it’s just not possible. For starters, the airfare doubled overnight. It sucks, but that’s life. I’ll definitely be at banner-making this week though so I’ll feel a part of it in that respect I guess. Again, thank you for your kind sentiments. ❤️💙🥰
  4. Enjoy the match next Sunday, Brownie! Cheer extra loud for those of us who would dearly love to be there, but can’t (cheers Gil). GO DEES!!!!! ❤️💙
  5. Thanks Kev. 💕 the girls winning through to the grannie eased the pain. Oh and the wine’s doing not too shabby a job at that too. 🙃
  6. Just a quick injury report, don’t worry, not any of our players, just a clumsy cheer squad member who got tangled up in the multitudes of crepe paper while helping to carry the banner (with [censored] heavy poles still attached) off the field. She went down and the big burly comrades up front didn’t realise she was entangled and just kept running. She sprained her ankle quiet badly. Yeah ok, it was me. 🙄 I sucked it up and carried on, though. But the adrenaline wore off ages ago and now I’m sporting an ankle that looks like a grade three’s science project. All good though since I have wine! And wine fixes everything. 😁 Future me is gonna hate present-day me. 😬
  7. You should’ve seen the QF vs the Crows! Apart from the first quarter of course, we were scintillating to watch. Best we’ve played all season.
  8. Jesse Wardlaw is a force to reckoned with. When she’s firing there’s seemingly no stopping her.
  9. It was fever pitch in the last, especially when we comfortably knew we were going through. Thank you for acknowledging. 💕 As someone said on here earlier it was embarrassing that North supporters outnumbered our supporters, but their cheer squad was no match for ours!
  10. She’s one player we simply can’t do without. Especially against Brisbane.
  11. I heard (unofficially) that she’ll be right for next week. No lingering issue with the shoulder. Hopefully that doesn’t change. 🤞🏼
  12. I really hope there’s a decent crowd in attendance today. For many of us, this is the last time this season we can cheer the girls on live, regardless of the outcome of the match. Unfortunately, tickets can’t be purchased at the ground so there goes a bunch of potential attendees who are still in two minds. Anyways, we’ll be there in force. Loud and proud as always. Rain? Not a problem. That’s why the good lord gave us ponchos. 😁 He also gave us biceps, except he skimped on those; he clearly didn’t factor in flogger-duty at that juncture. Coz those floggers are heavy, and even heavier when wet. But that’s of no consequence. As long as the girls know we’re there, all’s good. GO THE MIGHTY DEMONS!!!! ❤️💙❤️💙❤️💙❤️💙❤️💙
  13. Enjoy your jammin’ n lambin’ Brownie! And enjoy the delayed watching of the game, which I’m sure will be a win. ❤️💙
  14. Regardless of who the opposition is, I would truly love for this to happen. It might make the AFL think twice before the next stupid decision they make. But then again, they have form when it comes to making stupid decisions on top of stupid decisions.
  15. The Lions haven’t even trained on this ground. The turf has only just been laid and they won’t get a run on it until midway through next week. So there’s that. #SlimPickins
  16. ‘Kind’ is putting it nicely. I can barely watch the rest of this match. Bitterly disappointed.
  17. So infuriating. But they really should be three goals up anyways. Jess Wardlaw a little sloppy.
  18. That’s awesome that your family can get to the game should it be played in Ipswich. The girls will need all the support they can get. But I’m thinking of some Demon Army members who are so dedicated and give up so much of their time (and effort and money) and have done for the whole seven seasons but who simply can’t afford to fly to Brisbane a month out from Christmas. Had this season not been sprung on everyone with bugger all notice these diehards would’ve been right since they budget for any and all interstate games. What a way to be rewarded for working tirelessly for our Club and in particular our W team.
  19. Couldn’t agree more. The argument that Brisbane get a “home” grand final for finishing on top would be all well and good if every other ”rule” of the comp was observed. But they’re not.The AFL are cherry-picking what should be adhered to. For example, in Round 2 North were told at the last minute that their game vs. us was being moved to the MCG as curtain-raiser to our men’s match. That meant North W fans had to shell out for tickets for the whole day’s program. Was that fair????
  20. Just gotta hope Adelaide win tonight. If they do, and we win tomorrow, the GF will be on Sunday at Marvel. If Brisbane win tonight it’ll be at Springfield (wherever the hell that is). This sucks so much.
  21. Pumped for tomorrow’s match! Our girls are in the best headspace ever. That’s according to (for one) Paxy, and she’d know! The team cohesion is abundantly obvious and the confidence is palpable. It’s astounding what that level of confidence can, and will, do. Not cockiness, but confidence in themselves individually as well as in each other. Last Saturday I was pretty much the last person to leave Princes Park after the open training session (true story) coz… talking.😁 As I cut across the immense parkland I saw the entire team and coaches sitting cross-legged in a circle under a huge tree, laughing and mucking around and having so much fun. This sight more than any other made me think, Oh we’ve SO got this! For tomorrow’s banner the Club let us decide what goes on both sides. So ideas were being bandied about but one phrase was common in all of them… DEMON SPIRIT. GO DEES!!! ❤️💙❤️💙
  22. *Jules is super agile for a 190cm girl. And only 18yo so there’s plenty of time for her to fill out and then use her body like Edo and Tayla eg. As you say her marking is bound to improve with strength and experience but she’s played every match this season and has been very reliable in defence. A great get! *She actually embraces Jules as a nickname, rather than Julia (Gillard) 🙂
  23. That’s so sensible and logical that it’s no wonder the AFL didn’t think that way. 🙄 They’re clearly comfortable with making [censored] up as they go along. This entire season has been taxing and so the thought of not being able to attend really bites. And not just for us fans, but for the players. Attendance isn’t great at H&A games as it is, so I imagine they’d be sadly lacking support in QLD.
