  1. Are you going to Saturday’s game, OD? You’d like to think that mid-November means it won’t be freezing but here we are! This is currently my suburb… The VFL GF was memorable for the great win, but also for the arctic blasts and sideways rain. Instead of being directly behind the goals as usual, we elected to be in the stand behind the goals but still got just as wet despite being under a roof. Good times. I wouldn’t rule out snow at this point. 😂
  2. It’s really sad that there’s a core group of W devotees (you included, Kat) who, despite being there week in week out and never missing a match, amongst the many other things they do tirelessly, might have to watch the GF on TV. To hear them say with an air of resignation that they just have to accept that they can’t be there is heartbreaking. These people are a huge part of the reason the W comp is growing, albeit slowly. The success of this comp is not because of the AFL, it’s despite the AFL, who sometimes seem to go outta their way to alienate fans. And in case anyone is wondering: no, cheer squad members don’t have any expenses paid. As individuals we pay for everything ourselves (even our DA clothing and membership). edit: Soz I’m cranky af. Been up since 5am packing coz moving house this weekend and nowhere near packed up enough. My house looks like a bomb’s hit it and I can’t find my cigarettes anywhere. 🤬
  3. Definitely. Just waiting on the fixture so as I know which day.
  4. It’d be great to be able to book now but only if you’re planning on going for the entire weekend. Many people fly there and back on GameDay or stay only one night and only if necessary. And the way the AFL have stalled on releasing the fixture (was initially gonna be released in early Oct., then changed to late Oct. then changed to early Nov. and now we’re hearing early Dec.) who knows how soon we’ll be able to book. On top of that, this round falls during school holidays so there’s a further increase right there.
  5. No way I’d be able to attend. I’ve run outta kidneys to sell, and my teenage son can only go without food for so long. (The boy eats the equivalent of the population of a small to medium village, livestock included.) I’m sure Gil couldn’t care less about none of us being able to attend. In fact, he’d likely prefer more bums on couches watching it on TV.
  6. BBB rocked the man bun at the B&F. He also wears it coaching the girls.
  7. LOL at the fashionable “just piled up in a hurry messy bun” that girls rock. It takes no less than an hour, two cans of hairspray and the patience of a saint to get it even half decent. But when you’re going for the totes classy Princess Mary of Denmark type bun, messy is the usual outcome.
  8. Have either of you worn one? A bun or a ponytail? With both, It’s how you fashion it that makes the difference. When I go bun or ponytail or any ‘do for that matter, I take it on like it’s a commissioned art installation. 😁
  9. Lions pushing hard for this. Townsville also in the mix. Related: airfares to Cairns are such that many of us who have worked so hard this season won’t be able to attend. Thanks heaps, AFL!!!
  10. Last year’s in particular was pretty ordinary. I love this one. As you said, it’s the simplicity of it. Also, it reminds me of the great man…
  11. Again, it’s the AFL springing a second season in a calendar year (with insufficient notice) that’s the problem. Brisbane would obviously need more than a few weeks to sort out a venue. It’s the same reason that prevented us from playing our first final at Casey. Things likes renovations, concerts, the cricket etc. are planned early in the year or sometime last year or even further back in time, things that clash with an entire footy season being staged. As for whose responsibility it is to manage ground availability… again those three letters: AFL. Any and every aspect of a W season hinges on AFL approval.
  12. The AFLW have to go with what the AFL decide. Therefore it’s the AFL who’ll be labelled the laughing stock. Water off a duck’s back though. Clearly the potentiality of being labelled the laughing stock doesn’t factor into the AFL decision making process. That said, it’d be great if Nicole Livingstone could grow a pair and at least appear to be putting up some semblance of resistance.
  13. LOL which season? We’ve had two this year. 🙄 For all the backslapping and own trumpet blowing, the AFL have made things so difficult for the W comp. That it’s experiencing any success at all is due in small measure to the AFL. Imagine how much bigger it’d be if the AFL could get its [censored] together. End of whinge. For now, anyways.
  14. That’s just the pic, it’s actually a true red colour. For mine, the blue is too dark. I don’t relish the thought of another season of wanting to punch ppl in the throat for yelling out, ‘Go Bombers!’ Heads up @rpfc the debate is afoot.
  15. Only ever lost to them once (from five encounters). That was in 2019 at Casey Fields, a 4-point loss. Always tight matches. Winning margins of 4, 2, 9, 10, 2.
  16. The date is still yet to be announced. At this stage it’s either the Saturday or the Sunday.
  17. Crows Pies gamed delayed due to lightning?
  18. Solid session. (Even watching them train is enjoyable!) Gay and Sheriff on lighter duties but nothing to worry about. Great vibe within the group. And what was meant to be a 15 min autograph session turned into over an hour. They’re fierce af on-field but sweet af off the field. Not a single big head amongst them. ❤️💙
  19. 4 buck chuck by the goony bag is more up your alley right?
  20. You and Pickett aren’t uppity snobs though. Therein lies the difference. BBO is the uppitiest of uppity snobs ever there was.
  21. It’s during the school holidays. Everything will be outrageously more expensive.
  22. Aldi? ALDI?!!!!. And you call me lower-class? Pffft.
